Phrase "I don't have anything against homosexuals" usually goes just before "BUT they're gross/they shouldn't marry/they shouldn't adopt children". Glad it went in different direction.
Im glad that you people are gentlemen. Manners doesnt come by themselves. Its true that my english is secondary actually the fourth turkish is my secondary but thats another debate.. I do not try to ruin the language I read it better than l write but can't speak understandable english.
@Argas: I'm not gay myself, but I think I can say with confidence that your message is very welcome and appreciated. It's a nice reminder that lots of people do believe we should be decent to each other. And lord knows gay people have to put up with a lot these days.
There is so much anger and fear in this world, and people tend to voice their negative feelings the loudest. Love and acceptance are normally very quiet, and it's nice to hear somebody voice it out loud.
As long as we're on the subject, I don't have anything against gay people, either. I've known a few and I like them.

For what it's worth, being gay tends to make your life worse in most circumstances. There aren't a whole lot of places where it's tolerated, and even if you live in a gay-friendly place, you're still going to have a hard time finding love, relative to straight people.
@semiticgod: No doubt. But suppose that I said, "I don't have anything against Trump supporters. Frankly, I just feel sorry for them." Most people wouldn't assume that was an expression of love and acceptance; they'd assume I was being condescending and insincere. The OP's phrasing was a bit more ambiguous, so I await clarification.

Speaking as one (the 'straight-acting' variety), I've also noticed that the LGBT community doesn't exactly help the situation, either; in my personal experience, it continually reasserts stereotypes and exaggerates the importance of one's sexuality to the point at which being gay is not just a certain kind of behaviour (which, in this day and age, should be - and generally is - tolerated), but rather an achievement in itself. Hence, the 'Gay Pride' motto.
If you'll pardon my brief séance with George Carlin's ghost, @semiticgod, I think pride should be reserved for actually doing something, not being something.
You've got pride all wrong: Pride is about countering the shame that has been (and still is in many ways) inflicted upon LGBT people. The pride is about doing something. It's about rejecting the crappy ways LGBT people have been treated and standing up for one's self.
George Carlin's not always the best informed source to turn to. I mean this was a guy who thought that washing your hands after using the restroom was a superfluous and unnecessary activity.

It's okay. I should have enlightened it a little more. There is this kid who have been gay all his life. He has only girlfriends but more than any boy can dream of. There is nothing wrong with him. I was just thinking maybe he is stuck in that behavior.. Most boy kids kinda know that way..

It would prolly just sound condenscending.

I was a little confused at this thread even though it's in the right forum just came out of the blue, completely random and although I guess I know what he's trying to say I wondered what the point of it was.
Usually when an entire topic is devoted to this discussion, it draws all kinds of ire and starts a flame war. I still remember painfully that this forum had just such a flame war over homosexuality during the first few months that the forum was started. It's how I became friends with @Shandyr , because he was posting insightful defenses, from his heart, in that thread, and, as a gay man, I felt I should chime in and support him by immediately coming out to the forum. It's also how I got into tense relationships with several forum members, and that tension continues to this day.
Many forum members who are friendly towards each other now, were at each other's throats in that original thread. It was before we evolved into the kinder, gentler place we are today, and everybody was on normal (that is, horrible, rude) internet forum behavior. The temporary return of that kind of behavior over the Mizhena scandal to these forums was why our friend @Shandyr had to leave us, to protect his own mental health.
I don't know whether the OP's intentions were good or bad, but, intentionally or not, a post that short about a hot button issue is always a troll post.
I bet it's too late, and my own words above will likely serve to stir the pot even more, but my advice is to let this thread die a natural death by non-bumping, unless the damage is already done. I don't think any good will come from kicking this hornet's nest again, especially not with feelings still so raw over the last conflict.
