"I'm not wonder now, that the people living in the Hamlet keep a safe distance from this forest. And i would not like to imagine what peril can wait for us in the damp. But with such fearless folk like you i'm not afraid to enter them either." Said Francesco

"Thanks Hek for your well timed ... ehm ruse?"

"Wait, what did the bearded rock do? I was so disoriented that I kept walking into the same tree. It wasn't until this powerful smell came over me that I snapped out of it. I rushed back, thinking we had stumbled into a nest of Gibbering Mouthers...or...Why are you looking at me like that?"

Korb's ribbing of Hek is good natured. He actually trusts Hek and Vidar more than the others.

He looks at the rock and tries to figure it out.

He puts a 19 on the end of the second
a 10 on the end of the 3rd
a 22 on the ind of the 4th
and a 41 on the end of the 5th.

Also I will be more active after next week. Finals and what not this week are keeping my activity a little down.

Does the 5 on the original stay as well?

"Well lets try a different solution"

He tries putting a 26 on the second.
    a 29 on the 4th
    and a 75 on the 5th

Nope. Try a different logic. Think of something with three sides.

    25 for the 5.

    The 25 only persists...

    Want a hint? ;)

Ave will try 17 for the 2nd and 23 for the 4th.
If that does not work the will try 19 for the second and 22 for the 4th.

Okay I'm giving a hint within this spoiler. Open it if you are really stuck, otherwise not.

In the lower edge of the stone slab, you notice the name "PYTHAGORAS" inscribed. Maybe it has got to do something about him?

After thinking a long time Vidar writes,

    5, 13, 10, 17, 25.

This time all the numbers persist. The stone slab gets depressed in the wall, and a pattern of the shape of a right-angled triangle forms. The wall cracks along the boundaries of the triangle, and then yawns open into a dark cavern, from where you can hear the sound of water dripping in the distance. You understand that it must lead somewhere deep underground. The smell of damp stalagmites and bleached limestone makes you feel strange. It's completely dark inside.

Do you dare to enter it now?

You must gather your party before venturing forth.

    Well done, @Skatan! :)

Vidar looks around at the group: “Everyone ready?”

His two magpies swoop down and sits down on his shoulders for a while and whisper to him, then they fly away again. They will wait for him on the outside.

Vidar use a simple orison spell Flare to light up the entrance.

“Not everyone is gifted with perfect dark vision.”

He attaches the basic flare to his staff top, creating a makeshift torch.

Sorry, guys, my work schedule is non-regular. I work 12hr nights in this order: Mon, Tue. Fri, Sat, Sun, Wed, Thur, repeat.

“Are you implying that I’d be afraid to go underground? Whoever heard of such a thing!”

Hek doesn’t reveal that he had been secretly a little too proud of his body odor and had made an attempt at washing. This was nothing more than splashing a few drops water on his beard and under his arms, but it still felt a little de-dwarfanizing and he is a little too embarrassed to mention it.

“Follow me! I am a dwarf after all! I know all about underground! May Clangeddin guide our steps!”

Hek calls on Clangeddin to give him wisdom and strength in exploring this new area.
