Aliard, did the old ones work for you? Also, I added a tutorial for finding offsets for any of the games (even modded) in my original post. It's a little bit more complicated than Freche's offset instructions because none of these games have a level 1 or even level 2 pointer like BGEE does (Or at least they don't on my fresh GoG installs).
i didn't try again....can you link me where is the post???
Been using your reroller for around 6 weeks now. I've completed 2 play-throughs with it so far, an elf fighter-thief (stat total of 84, I just really wanted >51 Str percentile) and half-elf blade (total of 82, just because) and I'd like to thank you.
However, with the rolling around of 1.0.2012, I think we need a new offset value.
I think the addition of the "total stat points" screen below the ability points has screwed with the localization of the application and it's not reading any of the rolls at all (it just assumes everything is 83...).
Anyway, yeah, just a friendly reminder the application has stopped working! And thanks for making it in the first place!
I used to this to test how bullshit the RNG for stat rolling actually is... I left it rolling at max speed over night for around 9 hours, the highest it ever reached during that was a total of 99.
Edit: There seems to have been some sort of extra patch which required a new offset... 0x0055E69C will roll but treat everything as the same.
Huh, it works with A4 now, but after I downloaded the patch, it told me there was a new update available, then after downloading that too, the program said A4 was the incorrect offset so I tried changing it and I got it to roll but not read the rolls.
Yeah, it's a great little program. Somehow in my mind it's not "cheating", unlike Ctrl+8.
Exactly. With the program, you can easily get a roll of 92+ Without the program, you can easily get a roll of 88 or so.
Basically saves the headache of rolling to get good stats for your charname.
Also, @freche, note that the autoroller doesn't work for the black pits, if you can, the best would be to have it work for both (with two different addresses, the one beeing used epending on a radiobutton chosen in the window)
@Aranthys Thanks for finding the value. I'll see if I can do something about Black Pits, the way that the addresses works for it is however kind of annoying.
Did anyone try Roman215 modified autoroller for original BG? I am unable to run it, it always ends after choosing store button... nothing happens after that.
My BG1 TotSC (gog version) didn't have the same offset values that Roman215's script used. Thats what why it's not working properly. I wont't be supporting it though, for the simple reason, I'm never going to play the original BG game again now when BGEE is so much better.

Okay, thanks for test, I also discovered, that his script stuck in endless while loop because of bad offset. I already modify old pixel based Frabjoust Autoroller for BG2 to work with IWD and BG1 TosC. Pxels are more stable than offsets. BGEE is better than original (no so good as BWP), but I want one nostalgic play.

theveroch, can you please post a link to the modified autoroller for BG1 TosC that you mentioned? Thanks!
any way to get this to work on the mac version? I tried their general modding approach but it doesn't work since this doesn't require a setup.
I don't think that is possible. This tool is not a mod per see but a utility program you run at the same time you create your character. It's dependent on code designed for Windows, OSX wouldn't know what to do with the commands.
What are people so lazy these days that they can't even roll their character's stats in-game? If you just want to cheat, then use cheat codes or a savegame editor to get max stats. If you want to get max stats fairly, then do the work yourself and re-roll manually for about 20 minutes. This pseudo-cheating program serves no purpose.

Some of us don't have 20 minutes to spend rolling our characters. Some of us have jobs, and kids, and would rather get 20 more minutes in-game than rolling for stats. If you can't understand that, I doubt you'll ever understand the point of the program.

"I don't even see why posts like this exists."
Do you have so little to do that you come here and complain about something that is completely optional and in no way affects your personal gaming experience?
If you enjoy pressing the Reroll button for 20min then fine do that, but don't come here and think everyone feels the same way as you. You are free to think whatever you want about the program and so is everyone else.

I think you might be able to use other methods for the Mac version. I'm thinking that an Automater script might be able to do the job, and that way you would be sticking with pure Mac-specific software and the code would be less likely to need to be updated whenever an offset changes.
is there a way to just make it roll for a high total score without having it look at your str score... i just want something that will roll for a high total score. don't know if it's possible with this tool... all i read is about str score. great if ur rolling a fighter or sumin but yeah..

Also could you try to run with this one

don't change anything just start character creation and try the roller.

The total stat points didn't seem to break anything for me, just needed a new offset value due to the patched .exe
New Offset for BGEE v1.0.2012: 0x0055E6A4
Works like a charm ... Now to try and role-play a high intelligence half-orc assassin... Wish me luck!

Im not home at the moment, I will be able to get the new offset tomorrow night (CET).
Hope we'll get our fix soon !

@freche : you no longer need to search for it

v3 released, it should support 'The Black Pits'.
@theveroch , I couldn't download Roman215's version.
IWD + HoW v2: http://www.mediafire.com/?40bciiry2xsee0e
I download also IWD for test and same result... tested on two comps, one with W7 64bit, second XP SP3, both clean GOG install
