@Swifty_Magee: Interesting. Have you tried to install this mod after IWDEE kitpack?
Originally I had the other three mods installed first. Then I found out about your mod yesterday. I uninstalled all my mods, made sure my "override" folder was empty, and then installed them all in this order: Duskblade kit, More Style for Mages, IWDEE Kitpack, and finally Scales of Balance. Then I played the game and when I got enough money, bought a yellow colored staff and found out about the bug.
I'm just glad I narrowed down the bug to that specific kit, because IWDEE Kitpack is a pretty cool mod. I can live without using the Icepriest of Auril kit, as I never used it before and don't have a need to use it in the near future.
@Pecca I was actually typing my last post when you posted your advice, so that's why it seems I'm a little behind.
So I re-installed the Icepriest of Auril component and then re-installed More Styles for Mages, and the projectile bug is back. Seems like it didn't work, so now I'm going to uninstall all the mods again, and then re-install them in this order: Duskblade kit, IWDEE Kitpack (with the Icepriest of Auril), More Styles for Mages, and Scales of Balance. I'll post back to say if that worked or not.
@Pecca That did the trick! Seems like all the mods had to be uninstalled and re-installed in that order. Projectiles are now working.
Thanks for all your help and quick responses, and I'd like to say that all this is really worth it. The More Styles for Mages mod has been really enjoyable so far and I love the idea of switching robe styles on the fly. The staffs look great and I can't wait to start leveling them up! Thanks again!
I can see it now. IWD:EE kitpack doesn't update projectl.ids file but copy one pre-made directly to the override. So if you install MFSM after Kitpack they both should run fine.
I have never tried it, but the ADD_PROJECTILE command looks pretty straightforward and it will increase mod compatibility. (if you have any issues with it, please feel free to pm me or call me in one of your threads)
Cool mod but I have to ask: Is the initial staves you buy in BG1 supposed to have 0d0 at range? I decided to test it out as a fighter/mage multi to see how good it was but was surprised to see the damage was so horrendously low for the ranged version. In fact the only damage it did was thanks to the ** in quarterstaves that the fighter/mage had.
EDIT: @Pecca yup, I tested this with BG2 and the same deal is there: ranged version displayes 0d0 damage in the damage display window. Not sure if it's just a display bug or if the actual items are bugged. The melee version's damage roll shows up normally in the inventory/character record screen, just not the ranged version.
@GamingFreak: That is intended. Ranged damage of the staff is purely magical, not physical and damage display window shows only physical damage. Because of that, no damage bonuses are applied to ranged attack (the idea is that the staff just releases magic missile). So it's just 3-5 +enchantment bonus, magical damage.
Truly amazing work! It adds alot to my mages Could you add +2 and +3 variants of the staffs (with much higher price tags) for BG1? You don't have to change their looks, just add more powerful versions... Because right now good slings are slightly better than those staffs (and I really really really want to use them without any drawbacks in stats).
For some reason, when I try to install this mod, it says "undefined string", and will not allow me to install the mod.
I was having this issue as well, but I think it was just a problem with how 7zip unpacked it into my game folder. The MSFM folder inside my BG2 folder didn't have all the sub-folders that the base file showed it should have (bam, bg2staf, etc..), so I just manually copied the missing folders and moved them into it and then ran the installer with no problems.

Unfortunately, this did not solve my problem. I have all of the folders, I believe. There must be something else wrong with it.
I decided to leave the Elven Chain here, instead the first thread, to keep it from being too crowded, and since it's an off-topic item.
So, as per request, the rar file contains elven chain mail for the Black Pits, with Gorch the Armorer, after the first upgrade of his stock.
The installation of MSFM went flawlessly using weidu. In regard to the Elven Chainmail, do I copy the folder contents directly into the override folder?
I am trying to install this on IWD EE but I cannot seem to make it work. when I put either one of the files at the bottom of this page i just get a 2kb PNG image.
I like this mod allot! I always wanted a way to make my multi and dual class mage a specialist. Thanks allot!
I do see an issue though. The ring of doubling 1st level mage spells does not double the special slot gained from this mod. At first level I get 3 castings with the ring instead of 4. I have two without the ring.
Also, can you add the amulet to specialize to Withrop as well? That way I can convert my multi-class immediately?
@Necromanx2: Bonus spells for specialists are known issue of this mod. It used to work well, but after some patch it changed its behavior and I was unable to fix it so I left it as it is.
As for the request, I won't add it to official release, but if you want the amulet in Candlekeep Inn, download the file below, extract it and replace the original MSFM.tp2 file in your game directory. Then install the component again and it will appear in both Candlekeep and High Hedge. Note that the attached file belongs to a newest 1.42 version, so if you have older version, download the newest.
I just went to watchers keep for the first time in SoA and the lady does not have a circlet that allows to gain a specialization. She have the staffs and the two circlets that provide bonuses, just not the specialization one. I need one in SoA for my Cleric / Mage dual class (haven't dual classed yet. Just want it for when I do so I can specialize immediately).

Anyway, thanks for sharing your work with us.
@Draylyn: yes, staff of dragon power is for dragon disciples. Normal sorcerers can only upgrade the staff just as non-specialized mages.
@Kirkor: sorry i missed your comment somehow. It's an interesting idea but i don't have time at the moment.
