You are on the Price is Right and you have made it to the showcase showdown. Your showcase is a new oak table complete with a set of silverware and a cruise to the Scandinavian countries. Do you play for the showcase or risk potentially instead winning whatever is behind door number 2?
What are the chances of any of the Beamdog folks coming to the GamesCom this year?
Right now, the only thing I'm sure Beamdog's going to have a presence at is GenCon. I believe we've got a couple others lined up, but don't know which ones--that's something you might want to ask Amber when she's back from vacation.

I'm lukewarm on the table, but Scandinavia is one of the few places that aren't my house I'd actually like to see some day (I do not travel well), so I'd take the shot. Unless Door #2 included a trip to Prague or Easter Island, odds are it wouldn't be as interesting to me.
Ok, maybe this has been asked already. But I can't. Go back and read 24 pages of old posts. I have things to do before I die.
@AndrewFoley How do you keep up-to-date on current events? Are you an old-school newspaper subscriber? Do you watch the news on TV? Do you get it from the internet? Or does a carrier pigeon bring you month-old message tubes from the outside world?
This may have been asked before, there definitely was one about FPS, but I try anyway. (Autequi and I can start a club if the both have been ) I like RTS games quite a bit and was wondering when there will be a Baldur's Gate RTS? Follow up, will we have romance options within? Additional Follow up, Minsc's Stats in game would be?

I like the idea of newspapers, but they're inconvenient in a bunch of ways and I don't regularly read them anymore.
These days I keep up with reality primarily via the internet and occasionally current events comedy shows by people who worked with Jon Stewart (John Oliver and Samantha Bee are the funniest and most informative of the bunch, their shows' format lets them go deep on a subject--they're kind of like 60 Minutes to Trevor Noah's Daily Show's local news.)
Twitter generally alerts me to stories worth looking into, after which I'll go check my feedly account's news feeds for background/detail. If there's something important happening in real time, I'll flip between CNN, MSNBC, CBC, and even Fox News to get a sense of how things are playing out--for as long as I can stand it. I used to be a news net addict, but had to stop a few years back when my wife pointed out that yelling at a TV for hours on end wasn't a productive use of my time.
So I just finished reading Parting Ways and I loved every second of it. The story, the characters, the art ...
Even though it's such a fantastic subject matter it was so relatable! Especially Jennie, the resemblance is uncanny ... However, my favourite characters have to be Hissrich and Agatha (I need to draw these two).
I am definetly gonna see if I can hunt down your other books, Parting Ways instantly went into my favourite comics of all time list (and I have read a lot of comics in my life)!
I am really really glad I read it ... I know it sounds corny, but it spoke to me on a deeper level. Thank you for this book >.>

On a BG RTS: I don't know. That call will be made by someone way above my pay grade.
I have a hard time envisioning any future Baldur's Gate games not having romances at this point.

Really glad to hear you liked Parting Ways. It was the first major work I had published and I'm still quite proud of it.
You might want to give Cowboys & Aliens a pass--it's not a shining moment in the professional lives of anyone involved with it, unfortunately--but I'm pretty happy with most of my other comics work.
Scott Mooney and I talk about returning to Agatha and Hissrich to examine their lives post-DISCo from time to time. I've got a setting I'd really like to see them in but have never been able to build a proper story for it. Someday, someday...
Yeah, I read earlier in the thread that you don't want people to read Cowboys and Aliens, so no worries And damn, if you'd make another story with them, I'd buy it in a heartbeat!
AndrewFoley, thanks for the Candy I had never seen that page of Minscs, awesome!
If I may, Without knowing me and only seeing these few posts: What are my attributes? What Class Would you play me as? What Forgotten Realms(or whichever universe you prefer) race would you play me as?
Hey Andrew, I saw your name in the voice actor credits in SoD, which character(s) did you speak?
I played a ghost goblin named D'Mak Greatgas and some background voices, people yelling from the crowd, stuff like that. Nothing major, by any stretch of the imagination, just loose pieces we hadn't picked up earlier for whatever reason.
A little more stressful than I'd like, but that's hardly new. I seem to be in reasonably good health, Tiina's doing good, the dog and cats are adorable except for the one who still hates me even though I feed him and I was here first, and even he's not without his charms. I really can't complain. Well,I shouldn't, anyway.
1) A TV/movie proposal with a director whose name you probably wouldn't know but who's directed a bunch of TV shows you probably would (project started off as a movie pitch, got too big so we went to an event series format, I wrote a spec pilot, then a movie studio expressed interest so we're trying to boil a ten episode story down to a coherent two hour film treatment. Actually, boiling down's a little too passive a description, it's more like whittling. With a chainsaw.)
2) A comic tentatively titled MAXIMUM ARMAGEDDON LIVE! (previously known as WATCH THESE MOTHER******S FIGHT!) for a local artist named Jeff Martin. First draft of the first issue script is 80% done--I don't usually like letting a script go until I'm 100% sure I've got everything the artist is going to need in it--making sure character positions in panels are described properly so there aren't lettering issues, at least suggesting camera angles for panels, that sort of thing--but because Jeff is local I think there's going to be more creative back and forth on this one than I usually get with my comic collaborators.
3) A spec pilot my agent's been wanting me to finish for a few months. That's what I'm supposed to be doing now, actually, but...
I'm also very, veryslowly looking into the possibility of writing a comedy/fantasy/mystery adventure video game with a character/setting I've been wanting to do something with for years. I'm pretty sure it could work, but the prospect of doing a game without a solid infrastructure and a Phil figure to go "That will never work/Nobody wants to see that" is incredibly daunting.
Write more stuff and try to find ways to make a living off of it. Obsessively google "Glint Gardnersonson", "M'Khiin", and "Dragonspear" every 45 minutes just to see if anyone new has noticed them. Read the three year backlog of books and comics that built up while I wasn't paying attention (finally finished reading volumes 6-11 of THE UNWRITTEN by Mike Carey and Peter Gross--if you liked the literary side of SANDMAN, it's worth checking out {if you're more into the myth/fairy tale stuff I'd say go with FABLES.}) Get better at fencing. I'm probably going to have to mow the lawn soon, but that's more something I'm planning to try and avoid than actually do.

I've no idea what Minsc's stats would be--if nothing else, WotC would probably have some input on that if we moved from 2e to 5e. If you want to see what his original stats were, I believe Cam Tofer's original Minsc character sheet is in the last issue of the Familiar magazine: thefamiliar.beamdog.com/5.0/#!/article/105661/101336255?loadFresh=true&title=02_12_Six%20Siders%20and%20Space%20Hamsters

Thanks for asking!
A: Soon...
Q: When is soon?
A: On a Tuesday.
