Because turtles have no fur. My awesome 'pillars do; the first is even called a "yellow hair caterpillar". I do not like that hairless 'pillar you posted. It's like those weird naked dogs... it's just wrong. Why no "hairy girls?" - because this is a poll about animals. Should answer it, yes?
As this is a thread about cute animals... Please can we remember those animals that have been treated badly, cruelly and inhumanely.
This brought a tear to my mummified eye...
May we, together, ensure that the en-mass turning of mummified cats into fertilizer, (to grow broccoli, I have no doubt!) cannot, and will not happen again!
Sadly, as a person of multiple eyes, my kind trades traditional fur-growth areas for extra eyes. We do not possess a chest or limbs, and the top of our head is also reserved for eyestalks. So there are no furry beholders, though I have been pondering the possibility to surgically install a giant eyebrow above my main eye.

Why? Oh man, just look at them!
(also, why not hairy girls? :P)
Anyway I stick with the Mock Turtle from the book, I have to sing Beautiful Soup every time I read it!!
And I realized much later it said "fur animals".
Such as this adorable camel spider.
The mummified cat!
So cute! So easy to keep! They don't require feeding! They don't leave no mess! They will love you FOREVER!
Here is a cat I am halfway through embalming... She needs a good home...
But if we are talking only about animals with furr, then dogs. Akita Inu in particular.
