My memory is a bit hazy, but this 'Karoug' people refer to wouldn't be the big bad werewolf at the end of the werewolf quest in Tales of the Sword Coast, would he?
If he is, I have a confession to make.
Confession: It took me only two attempts to kill the werewolfves in Ulgoth's Beard to finish the Balduran Isle quest. The second time was easy.
The first time I wand-polymorphed both into squirrels.... and got killed by squirrels.

@booinyoureyes, @BelgarathMTH I really don't see why rogue would be a wasted class. I have sometimes run two rogues in a party, one to focus on traps and locks and the other to do all the scouting and backstabbing. Not to mention that traps are so stupidly strong that they make any rogue a viable party member all by themselves. Also detect illusions is a constant free true sight. So yeah, rogues are really really strong.
@SmilingSword, the posts were talking about taking traps out of the game by using the mod Tweaks. My point was that doing that takes away one of the main reasons to be or to use a rogue. Nobody is anti-rogue here. I wouldn't leave home without one.
Confession: I am holding off my current playthrough of the games (almost at the end of BG1) because I'd like to take my current Charname through Siege of Dragonspear.
Confession addendum: I know that if I start a new Charname in the meantime, my current one might eventually be forgotten...
Confession: Much as I enjoy the original Baldur's Gate, I have never really taken to the Tales of the Sword Coast content - dungeon crawls like Durlag's Tower and the Werewolf Island seem out of the place in the story-based game.
Confession: I played IWD and IWD2 when they first came out, but didn't even know about either Baldur's Gate until 2010. I have been playing BG since.
Confession: This may explain why I have always felt that playing Baldur's Gate with pre-designed characters felt a little bit restriction. But I still prefer it because of the interaction. I feel like I'm missing on the experience if I start a multiplayer Baldur's Gate run.
Confession: I have never played Baldur's Gate unmodded. Not even once. I learned all about the infinity engine limitations with the IWD series, thank you very much!
Confession: I hate the original Baldur's Gate unmodded. I can only play BGEE (which I prefer) or BGTUTU.
Confession: I *can't* play BG2 without first playing through BG1. I just can't make a new character who starts 'haflway through'.
I was tempted to just make a sorceror for BG2. Not struggle through BG1. Not collect all the tomes that mean nothing for a sorceror. Just start where the power level is decent and not 'throw a magic missile and run away crying.' But I just can't do it...
Did you know that "Clara" isn't actually the true NPC?
Confession: I have only helped the vampires once, partly because I feel they're a little too obvious.
Even though from a "good" standpoint it makes perfect sense to help the vampires at first. You'll eliminate them later in the game anyway.
Confession: I have only ever done the Thief stronghold once. I also have yet to play a pure thief.
Confession: I make sure to get my Charname every stronghold that I feel is appropriate for his character. Back in the day, my fighter/mage had both the Ranger and Mage strongholds, because in my head he was a ranger/mage. An evil cleric/thief I played had both Talos' temple and the thief stronghold. My upcoming paladin will be busy: I intend to give him a cleric stronghold, the paladin stronghold, the fighter stronghold, probably the ranger stronghold...
Confession: I don't give a monkey's bum about Minsc's infamous new line. I've already stated I don't like him, so this doesn't affect me one way or the other. Just keep the big palooka away from me and there'll be no trouble.
Confession: I want to play an evil character without the game punishing me for it every step of the way. The lack of evil characters available to my characters disturbs me.
Confession: I held off on finishing my BG1EE playthrough to go smoothly into SoD.
Confession: That playthrough was an evil one (well, asshole-evil, anyway...) and that's something I'm not used to. Since I put that playthrough on hold, I kinda forgot how to be evil/asshole.
Confession: Getting Dorn (my "romance") in my SoD party might help. Can't find him as of yet.
Confession: Throughout the series, I have yet to encounter a gnome NPC that is not annoying. Does that make me racist?
Confession:: i can't play bg1 with out the npc project mod. Confession: I need identify all items, happy patch and npcs don't fight on in the tweak pack. Confession:: I like nerra Confession: I can't start a new game in sod or tob it just feels wrong. Confession: bg1 has the weakest story of all four games Confession: as i suck at the game i don't mind story mode being added.
Confession - I like monks, but I find Rasaad dull. (Especially, my evil Dark Moon Monk finds him a whining pussy)
Confession - since BGTutu I can't play BG2 without importing a final save from BG1 with a character who got all the tomes and stuff. Therefore I played BG1 much more than BG2 even though I like BG2 more.

Rasad
I actually love Rasaad, and was very disappointed he was the sacrificial lamb unable to join my party in Siege of Dragonspear.
There will be other playthroughs...
Well, I didn't think he was recruitable because he told me he was busy... but apparently, as I just found out, you can get him later, which made me very happy!

thats my one main issue so far. some npcs from bg1ee are not recruit able until chapter 9. meaning you will have to go two chapters with out your actual party from bg1ee.
I always thought that the writing in Enchaned Editions was inferior to that of the original games, but replaying BG:EE, I have to confess that some of the snarky lines Charname can say to Rasaad during his quest are downright hilarious.

Confession: I've never finished the game with Aerie, the farthest she got was the Underdark
Confession: I've never finished the game with a good party
Confession: I have never dual classed any character
Confession: I really hate Clara. Like really.
Confession: I tend to help the vampires instead of the Shadow Thieves, so I don't have to fight through the same dungeon twice.
Confession: I've only done Fighter, Cleric and Thief strongholds after all this time.
