Imoen gives Ajantis mental kudos for wearing underwear under all that huge armor. Chafing. Cold days. Ugh. Underwear good under plate mail.
Wouldn't the chafing be worse without the underwear? Going commando in plate armor does not sound comfortable. Too bad he's not wearing this ankheg plate like I am, it feels like I'm wearing nothing at all! I never get tired of mentioning that.

"Creepy," Imoen mutters as she peeks inside over Keldorn's shoulder.

That seat in front of the altar almost looks like it was designed for a mighty god to sit on.

OOC @Awong124 Yes, the chafing would be worse without underwear. Kudos = praise. It's a good thing Ajantis isn't going commando.

I start checking the doorway and floor for traps so we can "safely" enter the creepy chapel.

Unless someone has a better idea I am going to start looking for traps on the mosaic path.

*Tiax runs about shouting* False god's everywhere, how dare they lay their eyes upon Tiax, ruler of all.
*He stops realising his folly now at the end of the hall and begins looking for traps*

Alora is looking at Xzar. Does he look at home in a place like this?

Imoen finds no traps in the chapel floor or doorway. Once inside, you can see more of the room. Off to your right, at the front and near the altar, there is a familliar looking archway, but here, the mists are a bright and vivid orange. In front of the archway and pointing to it with one outstretched, bony arm, is a skeleton in torn and tattered chainmail.

I'm curious about the mosaics and any inscriptions that'd tell us more about this place. I mean, I'll keep looking for traps until I get over there, but I wonder if the scenes of decay were added later to, I don't know, pollute? this place. I'm also wondering who (or what) is in that urn.

None of you find any traps, which you find rather heartening, until you remember the room with the chests, and how that turned out...

Another arch? We never really explored the one in the previous passage. I'm going to head back and fiddle with the one in the hallway.

    *Heads back to previous arch*

A skeleton pointing to vivid orange mists sounds like death pointing to the flames of Hell to me.

    @LadyRhian
Are there three coloured keystones on this arch like on the other ones?
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
@Permidion_Stark Not that you can see.
  • jhart1018jhart1018 Member Posts: 909
I study the mosaics on the wall and look for writing or anything that'd give me a clue about the history of this place. I work my way slowly up towards the altar but not onto it yet. Just in case I see something about "Thy altars must always be covered with things that go BOOM."

*Meanwhile, back at the previous arch*

*Kivan starts randomly touching the keystones*

*Tiax goes and looks at all of the murials on the walls, his disinterest with the portal is due to him solving the first one and thus has no need to prove his rule with another*

So what do people want to do with the urn. We could open it or we could break it. But if this is a good temple we probably shouldn't break it.
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
@Permidion_Stark No writings anywhere (Not that you'd be able to understand them if they were there...) and @Awong124 No matter how you fiddle with the arch, the mists never seem to change.
  • jhart1018jhart1018 Member Posts: 909
Look for writing or engraving? It might tell us who or what is home.
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
Two urns, one on each side.

Ajantis is curious about the skeleton in torn and tattered chainmail. He heads towards there to inspect it.
  • jhart1018jhart1018 Member Posts: 909
We could toss some piece of debris in here at the mist and see what happens.

OOC i'm answering from my cell phone. Will talk when I can.

I pretty much doubt anything good woul exist here but as a captive if this evil.

Can any of the paladins determine if there's a specific place the aura of good is coming from? Is it the urn or is it the room in general?
  • Awong124Awong124 Member Posts: 2,642
    Bah! Stupid arch!

    *Stomps back to altar room*
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
The skeleton is human, and so old that the bones are crumbling. The chainmail is not only torn and tattered, but rusty as well. It was black, once upon a time.

I think we should light the candles. If this is a good temple it will be a good thing to do. And if it is a bad one we are screwed anyway.
