But @Nimran in 2000 years @elminster will be 2000 years older then he is now
Yeh, that's the loophole in Edwin's argument. For a genius, he's really not that smart.
I think someone explain it around the forum don't remember who but intelligent don't make you smart it is wisdom that does and well Edwin's wisdom hmmm not good isn't even a word for it in other words Edwin is dumb

Edwin clearly says "Give ME 2000 years". He in no way implies that he is willing to give Elminster the same time.
Time is relative ahh but still they live in the same world the time pass the same for both of them so if Edwin will have 2000 years more so will Elminster that a simple logic.
Beside Edwin is dumb, going after Elminster was a stupid thing to do and then after the battle when he become a woman he doesn't seek help to change the spell again, he just stay grumpy woman

It is simple logic. Unfortunately, it is too simple: it does not take into account the fact that nothing says Edwin or Elminster will stay in the same world (this is a setting where interplanar travel is a fact, and not all planar areas have time pass at the same rate, after all).
Now, obviously Edwin isn't wise enough to give himself 2000 years more by such planar shenanigans before going after Elminster...
Certainly does look like there was a miscommunication somewhere.
I can tell you that there is at least one new kit that has never been seen before. The vast majority of the kits are from BGII:EE, though.
I really hope it is something totally new as opposed to the Cleric of Tyr (which I plan on using!!)
@Dee Are there any plans to maybe add kits to the game in a patch the way that the Dwarven Defender and Dragon Disciple were added to Baldur's Gate 1 EE? Cuz that would be awesome.
I honestly think new kits are one of the most exciting enhancements for many people who pre-ordered the game or plan on buying it at a later date. It would be a huge boost for my morale at least.

Obviously I can't comment on what Overhaul's current plans are or what they've included in the game, though if it helps I'm currently largely (95%) finished Version 1 of my IWDEE Kitpack, which features 5 new kits (besides any that Overhaul have made for IWDEE). To the best of my knowledge 4 of those kits have never been made for BG2/BGEE/BG2EE before, so hopefully that should provide some level of additional variety (I've also written up a unique biography for each).
My goal is to get started on Version 2, which hopefully will add another 6 or so, over the next few days (to be completed hopefully shortly after the game is released though I'm not making any promises there).
That is really the big boost to IWD I think. Thanks to mods BG2 has about a billion different kits available for it, everything from Jedi to Geomatic Sorcerers (though these particular ones may not work in BG2EE). The introduction of kits into the game opens up a lot of modding potential (even more so than BG1 since you have more leeway on your background).
@elminster wow, I didn't even know you made mods! We've both been here forever but somehow I never picked up on that... I am super pumped for your kits and will try them out immediately upon release. I just looked around and found out you are also releasing an NPC mod for BG1EE. Please tell me when it is released, look forward to trying it out. I'm really looking forward to your kit mod, and like surprises, but give me one little clue about one of the kits (I'm super hoping for it to be a druid, bard or ranger kit)
In regards to the new kits confusion, is it possible that the next big BG2:EE patch is going to add new kits and that's why they won't technically be new when IWD is released? All the kits in IWD:EE are from BG2:EE, but some of those kits aren't in BG2:EE yet? Wild speculation on my part.
- elminster (yea me you got a problem with self promotion? ) will be releasing a kitpack upon release that will contain at least 5 new mod kits, 4 of which have never been implemented in any BG2/BGEE/BG2EE mod release. One of which is exclusive to halflings only.
HAHA, no problem at all In fact, as soon as it will be ready, you'll get not only *self* promotions.
On topic (I've decided to check the forum so that we indeed have everything mentioned in this thread:
CamDawg: The imported Cure Medium Wounds no longer works on extraplanars, just like the other IWD healing spells, for example. Where both IWD and BG2 had the same spell we've used the IWD version, e.g. Cure Disease now has the 5 HP healing that it does in IWD. http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/comment/542042/#Comment_542042
I really hope someone will mod the IWD class implementations to BG and BG2. I'd really like to play BG with bards that have multiple songs, paladins that can smite evil, rogues who can sneak attack, etc...
Comments
Time is relative, don't you know?
Shame there's still no GOG option
First we see them mentioned in the article.
Second we see @CamDawg kind of maybe confirm that he had a hand in the new kits.
Finally a tweet from @TrentOster indicates that there are no new kits and it's just the original ones?!
What gives?

Gah, who am I kidding... EXCITED!!

- 60 new items, - can be added the following:
CamDawg: there are some restored journals as part of the UB item restorations. http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/comment/557797/#Comment_557797
CamDawg: In IWD, elven chain also has undisclosed thieving penalties; IWDEE adds the penalties to the description.

Classes - can be added the following:
AlexT: The unkitted bard gets all the songs from the original Icewind Dale. The Blade kit only gets the first song. The other kits retain their own specific songs and don't get any of the IWD songs. http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/comment/538591/#Comment_538591
Spells - can be added the following:

I like a challenge but i also like feeling like I'm working towards something (preferably gear) other than just the knowledge that i beat it.
It wasn't a case in the vanilla game and I think it won't be in IWDEE neither. So, no special items in the HoF mode.
