I do this all the time ... and when using a tablet or phone I'll often react to my own posts when scrolling. I've lost count how many times I had to remove likes, agrees insightfuls, and at least once a promote from my own posts

While I may agree with you in principle, I hardly think posting my opinions on a forum qualifies as 'art'. Thus, self-censorship might be the wrong term. Perhaps 'politeness' is a better descriptor.

This is my default setting for almost all conversations.
706. You come back to the Forums after every hour or so, expecting someone has made a new comment on your watched thread, only to be disappointed that your assumption was mistaken, and people are busier in mundane affairs than you are.
