Life... is strength.
This is not to be contested, it seems logical enough. You'll live, you'll affect my world.
About a year and a half ago I got married to my wonderful wife, Melonie. See here. We've been happy married for the very short time of about a year and a half. In six days we'll have been a "couple" for eight years. High school sweethearts and all of that jazz aside we've been very happy, bumpy at times obviously being young (I'm 25 and she's 23), but very happy regardless.
Then in early December 2014 my wife surprised me at work with a positive pregnancy test. (See the Skeletor looking thing above, she looks just like daddy!) Our lives will never be the same, and I couldn't be more happy. Yesterday, we found out that we're having a baby girl!!
*manly tears*
My little Merida (yes, just like from the Brave movie by Disney) will change my world around mid-August. I apologize for not being active on the forums, but real life has once again swept me away from another great community. There's soooo many I would like to thank and please don't feel disappointed if I leave you out, I haven't been on in 4 months. This is kind of goodbye, but I might sneak on once and awhile as a guest.
@BelgarathMTH @Dee @elminster @CaloNord @CoryNewb @LiamEsler @AndrewFoley @O_Bruce @kamuizin @Anduin @mlnevese @Tresset @CrevsDaak @typo_tilly @bengoshi @lolien @booinyoureyes @Nimran @LadyRhian @AlveusMalcanter and obviously @TrentOster for creating a wonderful community and recreating the one true RPG and the one game that I associate with D&D.
Thank you everyone and goodbye,
Nathan

(Younger than me and already having a child... I am so lonely...)
As for you not being present on the forum in the nearest future, you are excused only if you teach your kid the way of the Gate.
May Moradin's blessings always shine upon you, my friend.
Edit: also, watch out for rabid (or not... they still bite anyway) children trying to bite your legs. My sister was like a shark when she was young.
While it is sad to see you post less here, is always great to see another child enter this world, and especially with parents who have their priorities straight, as you appear to! I wish you, your wife and your little rascal only the best.
But before you go I have two requests, if they do not impose too much
1. If you ever get the opportunity, please stop by once after Skeletor-Merida is born to give us a picture! I'm interested to see her, and I'm sure she will be a beautiful baby with cute parents like that!
2. If you ever need advice, I had made a walkthrough for raising babies in a Baldur's Gate household. Hopefully these counterspells and tips will come in handy during the Terrible Twos.
Again, congratulations and best of luck with being a father, what I hear is the most important and difficult job in life... but also by far the most rewarding.
*cough*
CONGRATULATIONS! ! !
You will be missed... A baby needs 24 hour attention. Your wife at least 25 hours more... And everyone else, unless it is Mom or Dad appearing for baby duties, can go to the lower planes!
But...
But...
As a Dad myself...
You just need a little time to chill and escape.
As I type this... Sitting on my porcelain throne in quite reflection on the wonders of a fibrous diet... I can say that the odd post and the odd read here is a great escape from the burdens of nappy rash and breast pumps.
With my second Kobold on the way, arriving in May, the only hope for my sanity is this forum.
So... Next time you are sitting on your porcelain throne... Don't be a stranger!
...
Fatherhood is a great, no reload, adventure. Congratulations again and good luck my friend.
Congrats!
Soon you will be known as...
Dad-Dee!
I still remeber the post about you getting married.
And we all see a miracle, and it really is a miracle when the new life is starting!
Best wishes to your growing family. I hope in the RL you will always be surrounded by awesome people:)
And most importantly, love and be loved!
I have three girls and they are the best! My youngest dresses up as Merida and we met her at Disney last year!
Good luck with everything, and hopefully you will return later this year with baby pics
From a three time parent, I will tell you that having a child is a MUCH bigger lifestyle change than getting married. Get your movies, eating out, etc. in now and get ready for the most rewarding and trying moments yet to come!
