I have made it to level 12 of od nua. I killed a ton of spider face people on the 11th floor but am helping out the ones that didn't attack me on sight. I'm still breezing through each level with my 6 person party at level 10. Hoping for a big challenge these last few floors.
Awwwwww! Well I'm going to get there tonight I hope. I have to play in 30-45 minute increments. The Wife, kids, and good weather are getting in between the master below and me.
Guys, I really gotta say, the end game/pre-credit sequence was amazing, and way longer than I thought it would be. It made me feel guilty for choices I had made and things I left undone (recruiting the ranger girl and never finishing her quest is mean!). I want to do another play through at some point...but I may wait until the expansion is closer.
My understanding is that there are physical cards. But I am not really interested. I don't have the built in friend circles/time to play tabletop games anymore. That's why I bought tabletop simulator.!
I thought it was the payoff for the 3rd and 4th acts. The first two acts were great and the second two led upnto that reveal, which opens a lot of cool possibilities for future games. I was glad they kept it til the end.
There is a lack of " So what, I was already an atheist" or "meh, I figured that out weeks ago" dialogue options.
I think if you're the philosopher background there is an option that's like "I KNEW IT!" or something.
Ah, thank you TV tropes.
"If the Watcher has a background as a nihilistic philosopher, they will have the following response to the revealation that the Gods aren't real. The Watcher: I KNEW IT!"
There aren't many wilderness areas. There aren't many class talents for some of the classes. Characters rarely remark on your character's race or background. In the entire game, I noted 3-5 times where my nature godlike was referred to as a godlike. I expected the druids to say something to me at least. I don't even think the bird godlike said anything.
On the up side, the combat can be quite fun and you can build some non-fighter classes into secondary frontliners. Kana made a decent assistant to Eder by the end.
Story-wise, CHARNAME should have had psychotic episodes to give the impression of going insane. There really was no sense of urgency (for a selfish CHARNAME? XD). And the final battle was too close to the first appearance of Thaos. I feel there should been another big event with him (or his underlings or his doings) between Defiance Bay and Twin Elms.
I can definitely agree with you about the more content-thing. PoE is REALLY close to becoming my 2nd, if not first, favorite RPG of all time since it has everything I like about BG1 (which I enjoy a hair above BG2 because of the NPC mod) and more. I just wish there was more of it QQ
Maybe if it gets an expansion/sequel it can overtake BG and become number one.

Edit: she didn't and I did
Hip hip hoorah!

@typo_tilly the third and fourth acts fly by, but there is a lot of really neat quests in the twin elms. Enjoy!
