Maybe we need a virgin maiden sacrifice to awaken this god to get at it riches. *eyes Alora*

OOC: Which means Jaheira is the only one safe from the virgin sacrifices? :)

"Anomen! You mustn't joke about something so cruel!"

Alora, who isn't very worldly, is confused by Anomen's comment. She isn't a virgin she's a halfling so what's he talking about? She decides to ignore him and go in search of treasure.

"I bet there's some good stuff in here," she announces and sets about searching for hidden compartments and secret doors.

    No secret doors or compartments.

OOC: How many dragon scales are on the wall; enough to make some fashionable armor out of?

OOC: Does Aerie recognize any of said religious symbols, or are they the same ones as in the other room?

"Imagine. To fight a dragon! Truly, it would be an epic struggle worthy of bard song."

"I think I am going to take the cockatrice. I can have lots of fun with it, leaving it in odd places and giving people a fright. Tee hee."

OOC: How big is a cockatrice? Can Alora carry one?

*Removes the scales from the wall and bags them.*

Okay, the next room is south and to the west. This room is empty except for a staircase leading down. (You have already been here, from the bottom level).

The last area is around the corner from the throne area. You see a closed door with a lock.

It took Jaheira quite a few moments to get over her disgust at Anomen's last comment, for she didn't think him the sort to try and seduce kindly Alora. She would watch, and persuade him against such action by using her handy, dandy orc clubbinator.

Okay, Alora is able to open the door. This room is 30' by 20, with a section to the south that projects a further 20' to the west.

This is a rather simple room with few furnishings. The door to the room is similar to many you have seen in the fortress, but this one bears a piece of rough leather with the name "ERIG" studded on it in bits of brass.

The room has a crude bed to the southeast, alongside the bed is a table. On top of the table is a small stoneware crock with a cover. There is also a large earthenware tankard mug and a small hand mirror, covered in dust.

On the south wall is a locked wooden chest, and in the northeastern corner, a wooden keg stand with a single barrel on it, unbroached and untapped, labeled "SD". On the wall at the western extremity of the room are numerous pegs and brackets, apparently for holding arms and armor. It's mostly empty-all that are left are two shields and a heavy mace.

Alora will go in and check around. The first thing she will look at is the mirror. If it is a silvered glass mirror she will take it as it will be better than he polished steel mirror for looking around corners. She will then look in the earthenware crock to see if there is anything in it.

The mirror is a polished steel mirror. Inside the crock is 5 gold pieces.

Alora will pocket the gold but leave the mirror. She will then go and check the chest for traps before attempting to open it.
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
The chest is locked but not trapped. Alora is able to open it. Inside, she finds a pair of pants, several cloaks, a heavy cloth coat and two pairs of boots. A broken dagger and a leather pouch are at the bottom of the chest.

Inside the pouch is an unusual memento: A walnut plaque with an inlaid piece of silver engraved with the words: "To Erig, great and trusted fighter by my side, and Captain of the Guard at Quasqueton- Against all foes, we shall prevail!" It is signed with an embellished "R".

There is nothing unusual about the shields or the mace, except the Mace is a horseman's mace.

Alora will check all the clothing to see if there is anything unusual or magical about it. Do the pants look like this by any chance?
