OOC: Oh my gosh, my Slow Poison's gonna come in handy right away!
Aerie will wait until the fighters move in to fend off the spiders. Once she's sure it's safe, she'll drop to Alora's side and heal the poison in her veins.
Since Jaheira's role was to (a) kill fiends and, then, (b) heal Alora, she leaps into the fray to take care of the first. Fortunately, Aerie was also able to take care of the second role, as it was somehow important to keep the Halfling alive. "She will be the death of us," she muttered, as that was becoming more and more obvious.
Anomen hits one of the Spiders, killing it. Ajantis misses. Jaheira misses. Minsc flattens the second spider, chopping it to bits. By the time Alora recovers, both of the Spiders are dead.
(Incidentally, Spiders don't "hear" like other animale. They "hear" vibrations of the ground. Sorry, Alora!)
"It's okay Anomen, you don't need to worry, I am fine thanks to Aerie," Alora announces. "Now I've lured the spiders out of their lair they won't be able to surprise anyone so it is probably safe to explore now."
Alora heads into the mammoth to look at the human bones. Despite her words, she is not convinced that all the spiders have been killed and will be very cautious as she explores.
Jaheira silently agreed with Ajantis, for she did not want to go on record as having even the slightest thing in common with the likes of him. Would that she could be fully Elven, for that would only serve to increase the disparity all the more.
The skeleton is wearing rotted leather armor, a rotted pack, a rotted shield, broken spear- all useless and a gold buckle on his belt, and there seems to be stuff in the pack.
Alora is pleased with the gold buckle (it almost makes up for getting bitten by the spiders). She wants to check the pack but she has got a bad feeling about it and doesn't want to get too close.
"Anomen, can I borrow your spear? I want to use it to poke the skeleton's pack to see if there is anything nasty in it."
Alora is genuinely surprised that Anomen has loaned his spear to her (she had really only asked for it in the hope of annoying him). "I'm not proficient with spears," she announces "Which end do I use?"
Without waiting for an answer, Alora uses the pointy end of the spear to poke the backpack to see what it contains.
Aside from some rotted cloth, Alora finds a Jet statuette of a horse. It is finely carved and worth about 200gp. The shield also shows a stylized snake you have seen before.
"Thank you Anomen," says Alora as she hands the spear back. "I think we should hurry up and get to the other side of this mammoth now in case any spiders come back."
Okay, you go around the mammoth and the stream on the other side. You find yourself in a field full of rabbits. Then, some of them look up, and you see that these "rabbits" have horns on their heads, like unicorn horns, but smaller.
"Unibunnies! Can I keep one as a pet? Please? Can I? If I can have a unibunny I won't ever ask for anything ever again. If I can have my very own little unibunny rabbit I will hug him and pet him and I will name him George."
Neera exclaims, "OHH! I wonder, if a normal wizard has only a single familiar then obviously one such as powerful as I am should have TWO familiars! Oops you could have a brother, or sister, unibunny! I think we should take one unibunny for the each of us!"
No horny rabbits. They obviously multiply like crazy and it isn't something the group can handle. We already have to ration off food for a gerbil and a cat. Add in 50 bunnies and they will suffer from hunger.
Just let them all be and lets get back to civilization.
While Neera does find Anomen endearing the unibunnies are obviously more important, "Wait, Jaheira, you can talk to animals right? Ask if the unibunnies want to go a magical and somewhat dangerous adventure!"
"I will do no such thing," Jaheira scoffed. "As that would be an affront to the natural order." It reminded her that she did not much like wizards and mages, for the often tinkered with things that were better left alone. "But, here, in Nature's Garden, we refer to them as the Al-Miraj." After all, she could at least try to educate these ignorami.
