Okay. You follow the path down the cliff face, and behind a waterfall that runs over the edge of the cliff. Aerie feels as at peace as it is possible to feel for her on this path- the edge, and the ability to fall into nothing, are very close at hand. It's almost like flying- at least for a moment or two. The wind sighs softly around your characters, playing with your hair and cooling you off from the exertion of walking. It feels good.
At the bottom of the path, it seems you have entered another world. For one thing, it's much hotter here. The air has a muggy, uncomfortably dense feel to it, and the ground underfoot is spongy and damp. Reeds, bushes and twisted trees grow everywhere, and once away from the cliff, the ground grows treacherous, with plenty of pools of standing, scummy water.
Minsc looks grave. "Bad place to camp, Boo says. We must be careful, not fall into swamp pools. Boo never learned to swim."
From here, Minsc leads the way, his sword probing for safe paths amidst the forest of reeds growing higher than you can easily see over. He leads you along a path near the edge of the pool where the waterfall ends, and explores, finding a path running south. Near the middle of the waterfall, you can choose to continue south, or head on a more easterly path.
Minst veers east. after about a mile, the path comes to an abrupt end. Minsc retraces his steps and leads you back south. After a mile, he stops short and holds up a hand to caution the party. "Danger stalks," he announces. "Something lies ahead. I suggest swords, not words!" @mlnevese
Up ahead, you hear a loud croaking noise, louder than the loudest frog you have ever heard. Through the rushes, you can see a frog the size of a pony. Its black eyes look depthless and evil. It croaks again, sending up bubbles across the surface of the scummy water.
Alora doesn't want to get swallowed by the frog so she keeps her distance and attacks with her sling (so long as she can get a clear shot before the melee fighters charge in).
Arkanis charges the giant frog with his weapon and shield up. OOC: I hope Arkanis has some weapon, as i see last he used his sword, it started to dissipate from a Grey Ooze.
