A whoosh of yellow gas shoots out of the smoked glass flask with a sound not unlike an awkward fart. For some reason, Alora finds this absolutely hilarious and starts to laugh. The sound and her giggles set off Neera, who finds herself laughing as well, and she and Alora fall to the floor, laughing so hard that they are rolling on the floor. Arkanis and Ajantis find themselves chuckling at the antics of the two women- Even Boo starts to chitter and roll as if he is laughing, which sets off Jaheira and Aerie into mirth as well. Everyone is howling in paroxysms of laughter, except for Minsc and Anomen, who must be wondering by this point if everyone else has suddenly gone crazy. But no one seems to be able to stop- literally. The moment you try, something sets you off again. Tears stream down your faces, and your sides ache, but there is no relief from the laughter. Everything… but EVERYTHING is suddenly hilarious, from the way Boo is lying on his back, kicking up his little paws, to Oops drunkenly swaying around on his/her hind paws. Neera gets a mental impression from Oops of batting at colored rainbow bubbles in mid-air. At last the black kitten falls on its back and tries batting at the non-existent bubbles with all four paws at once...
OOC: Just great, Ajantis' big chance to use his signature power and THIS happens! It's not fair I tell ya!
"This dungeon has a sense of evil humor about it." Ajantis struggles to focus against the waves of mirth, his mind screaming at the wrongness of this but unable to stop. He tries everything he can think of, from reciting the names of every elder paladin in the order ,to focusing on the lectures of his most boring instructors, but nothing seems to work.
Jaheira's enjoyment was enhanced by the fact that Anomen was made all the more unhappy. One needed a brain, and a heart, to laugh; obviously, Anomen had neither, an observation the set off another chest-wracking bout of laughter.
Finally, after about 20 minutes, you finally laugh yourselves out. Sides aching from your extended bout of mirth, you find yourselves stumbling almost drunkenly around the room. Oops jumps on Neera's shoulders to catch a ride and Boo scrambles back to Minsc. Now that it's done, you wonder what was so funny about all that, but the shared session of laughter remains more of a positive experience rather than a negative one.
Neera turns towards Anomen and slyly states, "Hm? Anomen, you're all we need for protection. You look like the big strong sort that can take an army on by himself."
Alora will start by searching the tables, floors and walls for secret compartments. (What she is really hoping to find is another jar of laughing gas).
Then she will slowly approach the coffin and see if she can see in through any holes in the rotting lid. If she can't see anything and can't hear anything she will open the lid.
No secret compartments, but she finds a secret door in the north wall, 20' away from the Eastern wall. Among the logs under one of the tables she finds a pretty (if worthless) brass ring. The larger barrel sloshes when you try to move it, while the smaller one rattles, as if it was filled with stones or small, hard objects. (if you want to tap/open them, let me know). There is nothing hidden in the murky liquid. It just gets you wet. You find a container of red wine, another of white vinegar, a container of salt and a container of herbs that make Oops sit up and take notice. It goes over and chews on some of the herb, then acts like it is drunk (Catnip). The glassware is all open and empty, some of the glass shows the residue of long-dried up liquids.
The coffin, disappointingly, is empty and the bottom is dusty.
Alora will try to tap the larger keg to see what kind of liquid it contains (I mean 'tap' as in put a tap in it). She will then turn her attention to the small keg. She will listen to see if anything is moving around inside it and if there is not she will attempt to make a small hole in it so she can shake out one of the small hard objects to see what it is.
The barrel, when tapped, exudes a sweet, nutty brown ale that has not seemed to suffer in the least from time. Arkanis finds this relevant to his interests ( ). Inside the smaller keg are hard candies…each wrapped in a twist of rice paper. They are fruit flavored. Someone apparently had a sweet tooth.
Arkanis gather from the ale with a flask for further inspection. "This installment seems a richer one in assets and poorer in monsterfishes, than the last one, that must even you accept Anomen, despite counting farthing fungas."
Jaheira is relatively disinterested in the kegs and flasks, so she moves to keep an eye on their rogue. Alora had a penchant for finding things that were unfriendly, and she did not want the girl to be lacking in support. This had the additional benefit of increasing distance between her and Anomen, which was a boon.
Outside, the door opens on a hallway. The door is at the bottom of a T-shaped intersection The part directly north of the door runs straight north, while the rest runs east-west, but dead-ends 10' to the east.
Okay, north it is! 60' to the north, part of the hallway heads east. 50' down the offshoot, you see an offshoot to the north, otherwise it continues due east. The corridor you are in also continues north for 40' with an offshoot to the west at the 40' mark and continues dimly to the north beyond that (you are getting to the limits of your light here…).

This is why you don't touch things girl.
Let me all know when you are done.
*Stands guard near the door to make sure nothing is attracted to the laughter and kindly asks Minsc to keep an eye on any other enterances.*
You all done?
