"Are we to skulk through the shadows and cower from every threat? Such evil should be confronted. To leave a considerable force at our backs, and likely now alerted to our presence, is foolishness."
Alora is chuntering to herself: "Anomen's right. I expect that the hobgoblins bought the bracelet with their hard-earned money they got from doing an honest day's work because that's the kind of thing hobgoblins do. And those axes and spiked clubs they carry are just to defend themselves and they probably bought them too. So we should leave them all their weapons because it would be stealing to take them off them. In fact I don't know why we don't just give them all of our weapons and all of our money because they're probably quite poor. And then we could just take all out clothes off, baste ourselves in honey and cook ourselves over a fire because they might be hungry too."
OOC: I wonder who goes into the Alora book next
"Yes. You and Anomen ought to return until they've had sufficient time to awaken. Then, perhaps, you should fight them on equal terms." Jaheira found the paladin, as well as the paladin want-to-be, about as annoying as... Okay, more annoying than anything else she could think of at the moment.
*If the hobgoblins are still asleep, Anomen coup-de-grace their asses, picks up the babble and pockets it for himself*
*If the hobgoblins have woken I will have my mace and shield ready if they notice me, I will attempt to communicate first. If they do not notice me, I will just attack*
"If you've no wish to engage the enemy, lady, I understand. Perhaps your pursuit of balance hinders you in this instance. My duty is clear, and I will not shirk it."
Ajantis draws his blade and follows Anomen.
* When he gets into the room he'll detect evil on the hobgoblins if they are asleep. If they're evil and sleeping he'll likely dispatch them as quickly and humanely as possible. If they do not register as evil he'll tell Anomen and suggest they wait for them to awaken (disarming them first perhaps) so they can interrogate such a novelty as non-evil hobgoblins. If they are awake he'll follow Anomen's lead *
OOC: Not sure if that's the good option or not, but Ajantis doesn't strike me as a terribly philosophical paladin. If it's evil he'll likely want to slay it regardless of its helplessness.
Yes, the Hobgoblins are evil Ajantis and Anomen dispatch the foul beasts in a welter of blood.
Meanwhile Alora finds the stone. It is large and rounded and seems to be mica. It would almost seem usual were it not for its strange, almost unearthly blue glow, which is bright enough to only (slightly) illuminate the cavern it is in.
Ajantis cleans his blade of blood before returning it to its sheath. "A distasteful necessity. I much prefer the honesty of battle over this skullduggery."
The coin and bracelet would be a fine donation to the Church to help those less unfortunate.
And as you said girl, these hobgoblins didn't earn this coin honestly, might as well take it now before some other foul little creature decides she needs it more than the poor.
"I was going to give it to the poor; I just wasn't going to give it to many of the poor," says Alora (who had been planning to keep the bracelet for herself).
Alora will take the mica chips and put them in her pocket in case they prove to be useful. She will then retrace her steps to the main corridor and head south.
Liking Alora more and more, Jaheira tells the girl, "I would far rather be robbed by you, than by them," meaning the brothers paladin. "It is far less sure to be fatal that way."
Okay, Alora takes the Mica chips. She notices, that when she does, that the chips seem to have come from the main stone, but don't glow like the stone does. There is an area on the stone that seems to have been chipped at, but while the area still glows, the chips don't.
Heading South, the passage immediately swerves to the west, heading 60' and dead-ending in a largish cavern that holds the remains of a campsite. A fire circle holds dead coals and small bones and trash are scattered about. Other than that, nothing.
OOC: I'm back now, by the way. I'd just been so busy the past couple days to post anything.
Aerie tip-toed on shivering feet toward the cold fire pit and gazed at the bones. "What do you think, Jaheira? Is this the camp of our goblin friends, or...s-something else?"
Ajantis frowned as Anomen searched through the belongings of the dead hobgoblins, finding such looting disturbing. His misgivings eased a bit with the other man's comment about donating the items to the less fortunate. Then his frown became more pronounced as Jaheira delivered her barb.
"I am no thief, lady," he said quietly.
Stepping forward, he put a comforting hand on Aerie's shoulder. "Fear not, Miss. You possess potent magics and have stalwart allies at your side. Together we shall face whatever challenges these caves may offer."
Alora finds herself heading far to the south. 70' to the south, after passing through a largish, open cavern that is completely empty, the cavern restricts into a second that is almost stomach-shaped for another 60' feet, then turns to the east. The corridor heads east for about 35' and then shoots north for 50' or so, then heads east for another 65' then swings around to the south. but ahead to the east, you can see a wall of spiderwebs strung across the opening. There are several large lumps in the spiderwebs…
She will approach very carefully, keeping a lookout for arachnids. Can she see if the lumps in the spiderwebs are people wrapped in cocoons? And if so do any of them appear to be alive?

While she continues to mutter under her breath Alora examines the stone. She puts her hand on it to see if it feels warm or whether it can be moved.
The Stone is cool to the touch, and is much too large to be moved.

"Buurp! Pardon." Arkanis starts whistling a worksong.
