Say something nice about beamdog or SOD

Since there's been a lot of election year noise drowning out the genuine discussion of the SOD game. A game we waited 20 years to come out (Im assuming "we" meaning people on this site are old school Isometric rpg fans.)
SO since there's been a lot of unhappy people placing the problems from their miserable lives at the feet of a retro rpg game, I think we should say something nice about the game. EVEN IF U HATE THE GAME. OR are foaming at the mouth with homophobia and toxic election year BS.
So again this is a nice things about SOD only. No mean posts about SOD.
My nice thing is:
Skie is such a fun character. Somehow they made a stuck up spoiled brat the most fun likeable character. I just liked every part of the game she was in. She really is written well and in a perfect world she'd end up with her own tv sitcom staring her, minsc, tiax, Coran It's nice that they gave BG1 characters like her more life and better roles.

Baeloth NPC is charismatic and fun.
Corwin was good for most part of SOD
Minsc I was happy to hear your new lines and puns
David Warner for the president
yes story was railroad but still fun and offer good tactical challenges
new LOB difficulty is fun
Behold!
That is my MC in Dragonspear.
Holding a bow.
And a longsword.
AND A SHIELD.
Now behold again!
I can even switch between either weapon seamlessly--without doing the awful juggling that was removing the shield, realizing your character has no inventory space, trading the shield to someone else, equipping the bow, trading the shield back, realizing the enemy has closed the gap on you and need to switch back to your sword, try to unequip the bow, realize you have no inventory space, heave a tired groan as you trade your bow back to someone... Rinse and repeat.
All of that? Yeah. IT'S GONE.
Thank you Beamdog!!
As for the company; it's pretty cool that they develop for android as well as apple. I like playing games on my phone but I don't want a phone that's horribly overpriced. So yeah, go Beamdog for that.
I can press the 'Baldurs Gate Siege of Dr...' icon on my desktop and a box pops up and I press play and two seconds (and a mouse press) later I'm in the menu screen, and a couple of seconds after pressing on continue I'm in the Sword Coast.
No discs, no loading screens, no faffing with mods to get the game working on my modern(ish) computer and wide screen monitor. That alone is worth a big thumbs up from me!
Also Glint is cool and Minsc and Boo (of course thy will be lost without thee hamster )
I like the fact that they DID do a game in the BG series that add to the story and made a bridge between BG1 and BG2 which isn't easy at all to do.
Still. No need for discs.
I would be playing the EEs but my video card burned down and fell into the swamp.
I hope they revive PS:T as well, but in that case: please don't change the characters just because "they don't fit in 2016". They were never meant to fit in 2016. Neither were those in BG.
All in all: keep up the good work.
I suppose the most honest nice thing I can say about Beamdog is that they have a very solid understanding of the theory behind crafting interesting companion characters, at least in terms of basic premise and design.
They also have a knack for casting the right voice actors for the right roles, and then utilizing those VAs to their fullest potential.
I guess I can copy/paste what I posted over there? I don't think I can close it.
Oh well. We've had multiple threads running with angry nonsense, so I don't see why we shouldn't be able to have multiple threads discussing all of the good things.
So my nice thing is that I appreciate them keeping us, as a community, in the loop for the development process. They've gone out of their way to incorporate features that we have requested and it's fantastic.
Seriously, let's talk about that last one for a second. The bonuses different items grant are so freaking interesting. Obviously there's all the kit-specific bonuses, which is cool right there, but then you have things like the mace that casts Bless when you hit things with it. That's awesome! Or the hat that makes bard songs linger after you stop singing. How cool is that? A number of items increase crit chance, which as far as I know wasn't even possible in the original games. Almost every item seems to do something unusual and often unique, in many cases something completely different from anything the original games had (the bard hat comes to mind here). Finding new items was always exciting in SOD, because the range of possible effects was so much larger than it had been before. Frankly, the item design in SOD is among the best I've ever seen in any game, new or old.
Also, to finally be able to play one of my favorite games properly on mobile devices.
I also think Beamdog has done a nice job on the forum colour scheme
