If you have Mazzy in your party he thinks she is who he is waiting for. When Mazzy tells him she isn't, he says all halflings look alike to him. Apparently he is waiting for a halfling.
The other people looking for contacts are the two shadow thieves who want to desert to Bodhi's guild and the two githyanki looking for the Hidden (as part of Jan's quest).
If you have Jaheira in your group she recognizes him as a Zhentish agent and he will leave the area for good.

OK, this is a wild guess.. Rune rhymes with moon, kinda.. these assassins are special thieves, alot better than most backstabbing thieves and uses knives and not spoons. They are hidden. The last clue I have no idea about, hehe..

@lroumen Correct! 1) Prism is a criminal in BG1 for emerald theft, while the temples in BG2 acknowledge Prismnas a great artist. 2) The EEs made you lose reputation for taking the emeralds when previously there was no cost. 4) is talking about the statue in Umar Hills whose eye now doesn't contain a gemstone. 3) The carving is of Ellisime, Irenicus' obsession.
