Aerie will stoneskin herself and then magic missile the nearest wolf. Next round, she'll magic missle again.

Actually, Skie will use her elephant figurine to summon an elephant first. Then she will start using her bow.

Okay. You could have used a regular longbow... or brought ordinary bolts... just saying...

Ok, Valygar uses his trusty longbow with arrow+1. For melee, the spear+3.

Valygar gives the crossbow of speed and some regular bolts to keldorn since Keldorn is proficient in crossbow. Also, he hands the Sword +1, +3 vs. Lycanthropes and Shapechangers to either Ajantis or Keldorn since he can dual-wield regular katanas.

Ouch... Not here the pun thread is that way ->

    :)

Mr. Stampy reminds me of the joke about where an elephant's sex organs are located... in its feet. If it steps on you, you're F***ed...

Okay. Wolves win initiative (and the crossbow of speed is a light crossbow that gets 2 attacks per round instead of just 1). The Wolves jump up on you, higher than your horses. The running wolves hit Valygar, knocking him from the saddle with the weight of their bodies. You see him go down under 4 snapping, slavering wolves (4 hits, 18 damage). Keldorn is also knocked from his saddle with a wolf atop him. He takes 5 damage. Branwen finds one wolf ripping at her right wrist, for 6, but manages to keep her seat. Skie is also hit for six, and the wolf grabs onto the fist which her figurine is clenched in, but she also manages to stay in the saddle. She also takes 6 damage.

Stoneskin, then magic missle one of Valygar's wolves...
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
Skie calls on the power of her figurine, dropping it into the Wolf's gullet. The wolf distends, distorts and explodes, showering Skie and those nearby in a nasty shower of blood, meat and bits of fur. Valygar and Keldorn find fighting on the ground... difficult. Both miss. Ajantis strikes a wolf for 9 damage, but it barely seems fazed. Alora is so stunned, she drops both sling stones (two 1's... how embarrassing!). With her hand imprisoned, Branwen finds it impossible to cast. She smashes the wolf for two, but it's not enough to free her hand. Edwin casts Haste on Branwen. Aerie casts Stoneskin.

    Round 2... actions, pleaee.
  • jhart1018jhart1018 Member Posts: 909
Magic missle one of Valygar's wolves.

I'll attack the nearest wolf I can reach that is attacking anyone else in the group.
  • bbearbbear Member Posts: 1,180
    I believe I have 84 total hp. 84-18 = 66 hp.

    Proficiency:
    Katana **
    Spear **
    Longbow **
    Two Weapons **

I will dual-wield 2 regular katanas. I'll let the 4 wolves attack me first, then use a charm animal spell on one of them if applicable (to avoid spell disruption). If the magic missile from Aerie doesnt kill one of the wolves, I'll attack that one.

Hopefully, none of the wolves roll a 20 and I can survive another round w/o healing. Also, how much does the potion of healing heal (27hp?)

Cernd and I so didn't get any actions in round 1, but I wasn't affected by any either, so we'll call it even... I'll attack Branwen's dire wolf with my non-magical longbow.

What do I do! I am a Paladin of Torm, I stand my ground and slay these misbegotten beasts! To quote a heroic ranger I once met; Evil meet my sword! Sword, meet evil! I will attack the nearest wolf.

Ajantis, you are doing well, I hope this isn't an inopportune time to talk, but I need to warn you about --- ugh.

Ow! Bad wolfy! Branwen's hand being trapped robs her of her intended next move which was to spellcast. Hearing the sound of a wolf giving "birth" to an elephant will give her nightmares for years but feeling Edwin's spell of Haste take effect, she keeps on fighting, trying to strike the wolf that thinks it's a glove.

OOC: if i'm not around for future rounds, please assume Branwen will defend herself against immediate attackers, but if this wolf dies and she is left unmolested, she will use her staff of curing and/or spells to try and heal other party members who need it. If everyone is ok, she will rejoin the fighting. Essentially she'll do whatever is necessary ;-)

OOC: What happened to Cernd casting Doom? XD Oh well. And ewwww, that isn't an image I need right now

Who's wolf is the closest to me? For round two I'll cast Barkskin on myself, and then attack the nearest wolf, if there is a choice, he would free up the priestess, she needs both hands so she could assist to the full potential.

OOC: Doom is now the exclusive domain of Xan. All others who try casting it will fail...well maybe...

    "Eeeewwww... This is so gross..."

Skie will do her best to ride away from the pack and fire arrows at the wolf her companions are mostly concentrating on, and watch Stampy do his thing.
  • mlnevesemlnevese Member, Moderator Posts: 10,214
OOC I'd say Xan has a Doom spell cast with a Permanency spell in effect :)

Edwin will cast Mage armor, and then chromatic orb

Actually, Skie will dismount her horse and start shooting arrows. If the wolves start to go after her, she will do this:

Okay. Round 2. Edwin is blindsided by a wolf and gets knocked off his horse. taking 8 damage. Cernd takes a hit for 3 damage, and manages to stay mounted. Valygar takes 6 as he wrestles on the ground with his attackers. Aerie gets hit for no damage (protected by stoneskin), but falls from her horse, losing another stoneskin layer when she lands. Alora is bitten for 4, but manages to stay on her horse. Everyone else misses horribly.

Alora manages to sling two stones, but only wings a wolf for 1. Branwen smashes her wolf in the muzzle again for 8. It still doesn't let go. Edwin casts Chromatic Orb at the wolf that knocked him down. The wolf takes 10 points damage, but makes its save. Aerie Magic missiles the closest wolf for 8. It stays up. Skie hits one wolf for 2 damage. Mr. Stampy uses its sharp tusks on a wolf for 5. The wolf is lifted into the air and thrown across the road.

Round 3 actions? Wolves still have initiative.

I'll try to cast flame blade, instead of drawing my blade, and hopefully that would scare off the wolf trying to take a chunk out of my flank.

@LadyRhian Have I done anything either turn? Also does shooting a bow on horseback come with a penalty?

If so I'll unmount and shoot Branwen's wolf... if not then I'll still shoot Branwen's wolf.
  • Permidion_StarkPermidion_Stark Member Posts: 4,861
I'll keep slinging. Aiming for the wolves that are attacking Valygar.

OOC Are we at a disadvantage firing from horseback? If we are I will dismount and make use of my Boots of Speed to get clear from the wolves and get slinging.
