I picked the pocket of the clerk in the Godsman building and he had a receipt. I then turned the receipt in to him and he gave me a magical mace for it. Not that I can use the thing... With Nordom's sight I found an inactive portal next to the siege tower where the green abishai what's-his-name was standing. I am not sure how it opens, but I get the feeling it takes me into the siege tower. I would like to get in the tower so I can find the birdcage for my dream device, but I am not sure how. Perhaps I haven't played far enough yet?
Decided it was time to explore Under Sigil. Found some rather nasty worm things that gave out a ton of XP.
Hmm... Restartitis is a bad thing... I spent all day today playing a new game... I just wanted to see those awesome hammers (Brimstone and Comminution) in action soooo much... That, and I was quite unfocused for most of the day (it's a problem related to my Autism and ADHD). Now that I got Brimstone maybe the desire to be a fighter will fade...
Don't worry! I will get back to my first run with the mage dude... I just don't always feel like recording my adventures here... Also I am not quite sure I know what to do next having explored almost everywhere available already... Not that I need a hint yet; I am sure I will figure it out eventually.
I asked around the brothel about Kesai-Serris being Ravel's daughter. Several of the prostitutes suggested I ask Juliette. Juliette tells me that I should speak to Kimasxi Addertongue as the two are half sisters! Kimasxi suggested I tell Kesai-Serris to ask their father about it... Like I couldn't have come up with that on my own if I were the Nameless One... I asked Kesai-Serris to ask her father and she finally came to realize that she was the daughter of Ravel. She told me much of how evil Ravel was and I tried to comfort her. She then gave me a handkerchief with her blood, which from what I have been told, is apparently the key to Ravel's maze. After this I spent some time looking around the lower ward for the portal to Ravel's maze... I didn't get anywhere though... Perhaps I need to finish the Dreambuilder quest first... The problem is I don't know how to get into the siege tower to get the birdcage... Hmm... Who have I not talked to yet? Nevermind... I'll figure it out...
Just thought I may throw this in here because I missed it with my mage run...
While I was playing my fighter run I had to have Dak'kon translate Fell for me because my fighter is not a smart guy. When I brought my severed arm back to Fell to get the story from it, Dak'kon was not very happy about translating what Fell said. I convinced him that counseling ignorance was a poor choice. He agreed to translate for my fighter and it turns out he knew quite a bit about those in my group back then. Deionarra was the woman. Xacharaia was a blind alcoholic archer who gained a second sight when he lost his regular vision. There was a familiar I had purchased who Dak'kon *knew* little about. Then, of course, there was Dak'kon himself. Makes me kinda wonder where Morte was at the time... I guess I just hadn't rescued him from the Pillar of Skulls yet.
Ok guys... I must be missing something... I am pretty solidly stuck on this mage run and my warrior is catching up to the same point rapidly. I think it is time I asked for a subtle hint on what to do next. Just try not to reveal too much...
@CrevsDaak told me to try collecting my legacy from Iannis. I thought I had already done this, but it was actually Deionarra's legacy which I got. I totally missed the dialog option to collect MY legacy... I will see what I can do with this info tomorrow. I will also double check the market (there are two of those, so not sure which one) and the journal (again, there are two which I have, so not sure which one on that either). Thanks for the tips.
Edit: Funny how 3 different people point me in 3 different directions...
I started by recovering the legacy I missed earlier. I gained an eye, a stomach, and a receipt for the foundry. Turning in the receipt gained me a thing called an Unfolding Portal. I was able to activate it with Kesai-Serris' blood, but decided not to pass through for the time being. I went to the open air market as suggested and pumped Lazlo for info a second time. This time I was able to get info about a portal and the siege tower... I spoke to Lazlo before this so how the hell did I miss this line of dialog?! No matter...
I entered the portal Lazlo spoke of and... What the?! A giant metal man swinging a hammer?! Coaxmetal... A golem that makes weapons for entropy bent on the destruction of the multiverse... Great... Sounds like a swell guy... At least he makes some nice weapons for me. I got the punch daggers and knuckles since Annah could use them both. I also got some bolts for Nordom and a dagger for myself. With the dagger of more spells I am now able to memorize a total of 32(!) level 1 spells... The problem is I lose 16 of those spells if I switch weapons and, this dagger doesn't count as enchanted... I am not sure if I will use this dagger much or not. Anyway after shopping I got the birdcage and spoke about immortality and weaknesses. Coaxmetal offered to make a weapon that could kill me, but I don't think I want that...
I returned the birdcage to Nihl Xander and he sent me after a coffin pillow next. Hamrys talked a lot... and then finally told me to go to the warehouse to get a pillow. I returned the pillow to Nihl and he gave me a feather as the key to the dreambuilder. Yay, now time to try this thing out! Ok, so that was odd... and apparently only good for one dream?
Anyway, I have found a lot of companions so far... All but one it seems... Vhailor. Makes me wonder if I missed him somewhere...
@Jarrakul True, but for some reason she WAS able to use the Spiked Gauntlets of Ogre Power. Who am I to argue if the game lets her use 'em? I kinda think the devs intend to leave this as is too, considering how they handled my bug report for her using Uhir's Knife. At the very least this one is actually a fist weapon...
So, are you still working on this @Tresset? I've just restarted playing again in the last week or so and stumbled on this thread. I've really been enjoying reading it. Here's to hoping you haven't let this project die!
@jiflink I got distracted by Pokemon and then by Morrowind. I have not forgotten about this thread yet, however. I hope to return to this at some point, but I am not sure when...
@AbYsMaL I actually haven't gone yet. I wanted to grind up to level 9 spells before going but I got bored around level 8 and kinda stopped playing... Like I said I will continue one of these days. Don't worry, I promise I won't do anything major without reporting it.
Not to try and steal the thunder *at all* (I was enjoying reading some of your adventures, Tresset!), but I also did a complete "blind" Let's Play on YouTube when the game released. It was my first time ever playing the game, really enjoyed it and had some fun capturing it all on video if anyone is interested.

Currently have a Torment: Tides of Numenera LP going, too, among a few others.
Have a good one.
