I know it's nonsense but I genuinely feel like Tresset knows everything already. :P The way he misses nothing, remembers everything from the talks and even delivers it all to us with a great narrative in a manner a complete walkthrough couldn't be ashamed of.
@Tresset Your own wisdom easily surpasses that of your nameless one.
Actually it's been so long since I last played PST I'm having that feeling of playing for the first time as well. I remembered Morte and some of the stuff in the Mortuary but I don't quite remember details of what happens after that
Question: Is there a good place I can stash crap? Do things vanish if they are not placed in containers? Go ahead and answer the second question. If yes, I will probably stash things back in the mortuary or somewhere...
Yes, they vanish. You can use any container to stash things safely.
@Pibaro Thanks, I figured as much. My inventory is almost full so I may try to stash stuff somewhere in the mortuary for now. Going back in after having left for the first time seems to make the guards less jumpy...
Annah appears to be important... She has special music play around her and unique voice acting. Right-clicking on her results in SELECTION SOUNDS!!! A party member most likely! She doesn't seem to want to join right now though...
That was very smart of you the way you figured that out
He could have been even smarter, he could recognize Sheena Easton voice
I remember stumbling around when I first played, it was so different from BG. Never got to finish PST though, and I don't even remember how far I got.
I'm now debating whether or not I follow @Tresset's playthrough before I start my own, or start my own regardless, blissfully unaware of all the choices, and just bask in shiny new-ness.
The Nameless One starts at level 3 (not 1!), with 1 pip in fist and 1 pip in edged weapons. Is it correct? Moreover, on the character page (under proficiency) you can read: unused slots: 3 What does it mean ?

You have more slots to put into weapon proficiencies, but you can't just allocate them in the character sheet or level up screen. There a way inside the game to do it, but I won't give it away, you'll have to discover it yourself.
@Luke93 It is probably best to create your own thread to ask such questions... I don't really want to see any answers to questions that I didn't ask, ya know. That is kinda spoilery.
Not much of an update right now, but I re-did a few more things just outside the Mortuary. Talked to a bunch of people, got a few quests, and a commoner gave me a nice dagger. I also tried my hand at fighting some of the thugs around the area. They seem to respawn as I kill them and they tend to run from me when hurt. I found out that Morte can taunt them to keep them from running sometimes. My next course of action will probably be trying to enter a bar or something. That, or try to find a merchant.
Went to the Dustman bar and had a talk with some people. Of particular note was some old lady named the skeptic or something. She seemed nice enough. I tried to convince her not to be a dustman anymore I think. Got a quest to go into a mausoleum to make dead stop rising, so I checked that out. I went in briefly, but I decided I would prefer to have more of a party to do this area so I reloaded. With nothing left to do here I left the are to some alley of angles where they tried to shake me down and it got violent so I reloaded (didn't want to go there yet anyway...). I need to pay more attention to directions... Next I tried going south and talked to a guy who wanted me to help trees. Seemed like a worthwhile cause so I got behind it. There was also a girl who wanted me to help her sister. I figured out that she was up to no good, but then I reloaded because I was curious what the fight would be like so this time I acted dumb. They managed to kill me several times before I was able to get all of them. The thugs in this area seem more aggressive than outside the mortuary so I got accosted several times. There are some nuts acting like dogs for whatever reason... Decided to ignore them for now. Tried talking to a black abishai just for kicks (I knew it was either a demon or a devil) Morte said it was a bad idea and I decided to listen to him for now. Around this time I noticed my inventory was getting full from thug loot so I decided to go back to my stash in the mortuary. Saved outside the mortuary and noticed the weather is getting nicer outside so I may try to go biking to the lake to look for turtles...
Decided that instead of checking my stash I should look around some more. I was hurt from my many thug fights so I decided to rest in the tomb that I used to escape the Mortuary. After that I went next door to Angyar's house and got a quest from his wife. I vowed not to tell her husband about what I was doing for her because it seemed the honest and good thing to do. I then marched over to that Gravesender dusty and was able to convince him to give me the contract with my persuasiveness and knowledge of the dustman 'true death' policy. I then returned to Angyar and tore up the paper for free. He seemed quite impressed. Talking to his wife revealed that they had a store! Too bad I couldn't sell them anything... At least now I know a bit about the value of what I am carrying. Returned to Angyar for the usual info pumping and I hit the jackpot! Not only did he know to find Pharod in the Ragpicker Square like everyone else, but he also knew that Pharod's base was hidden underground and I needed to use a portal to get there. He even new that the key was 'junk' which I currently have stashed in the mortuary! Awesome!
Headed into the area to the west next. Found a guy with moving lines on his skin that wants me to find his necklace. Not sure where to go yet though... Found another guy who is lost, but I don't know where he is going so I can't help him yet. I did try to ask the post zombie where his aunt's house was, but that didn't work. Killed more thugs, and found a guy surrounded by dead green... things... with a box he wanted me to deliver... He acted very shifty and I don't trust him a bit, but I took the box and he told me not to open it. The first thing I did was, naturally, open the box. Some blob thing came out and I killed it. I decided to reload after this to see what happens when I actually deliver the box, but later. Then I learned not to hiss at an abishai... Reload. I then spoke to someone named One Ear. He had only one ear (imagine that)! I decided to leave him alone. Next I headed back to the Southeast Hive and I found the men who stole the beads. I decided to stop there for now.
By now I am starting to wonder about Morte's Litany of Curses... When I use it the target appears to make at least two saving throws. Sometimes the target will glow red; sometimes the target won't. Sometimes the target will attack Morte; sometimes the target won't. When I use it on the Nameless One it makes a sound and magical sparks (which it doesn't do for anyone else I use it on), but nothing happens. What the heck is going on here? This isn't covered in the description! Is this ability bugged? (Seriously guys... how is this ability supposed to work? Tell me before I am tempted to go into NI and look it up... All I know now is what the description says and that it gets more powerful as Morte learns more curses.)
Morte's Litany of Curses In my IPAD game it says that the target enemy will suffer a -2 penalty on thac0, AC, and damage, and he will attack Morte, but a saving throw will negate the effect. It should work this way. I don't know how it really works. I don't know why you see more than one saving twhor.
Some info on the Litany of Curses (mild spoilers).
If the target doesn't make the save, they will become "enraged"; which means they will lose their senses and attack Morte in melee combat, ignoring everything else. If they make the save, they will simply become (or remain) hostile.
If Morte uses the Litany against party members or other characters who can't be enraged (for example, undead), the Litany doesn't work and you get the sparks to show that the ability has no effect.
Continuing where I left off, I killed the three who stole the prayer beads from Mr. Line Face. I then tried to deliver the box to the guy in the warehouse, but he ran away... great. Killed more thugs (these guys must breed like rabbits or something...) and then I returned to Line Face to deliver the beads. He seemed happy that I killed the thugs for him and offered to teach me to be a warrior. Naturally I declined, wanting to be a mage instead. I then went into the building in the center of the area and found that it served as an inn of sorts. The proprietor mentioned having problems with someone not paying and I offered to get rid of him. Immediately upon doing this my alignment changed to NG (yay)! I talked to the guy I was sent to get rid of and he starts talking about a fork to an ear. I knew this could only mean that it was time to have a chat with that one eared tiefling again. The tiefling didn't like being confronted with his crime so he attacked and fell quickly. Returning the fork to crazy allowed him to leave through a portal and netted me an ear... nice... I got an earring though and was actually able to ID it. Unfortunately, I couldn't use it. By this point the constant thug attacks had completely filled my inventory so I went back to my stash in the mortuary.
Following this I decided to go back to the southeast portion of the hive to check out the local piercing parlor. This turned out to be MUCH more interesting then I expected it to be... I had already learned the language of the dabus earlier, and speaking to this one, named Fell, was very revealing and yet enigmatic. He collects my skin, eh? Well... I guess everyone needs a hobby... Tattoos for sale looked nice, but with little more than 200 jinkjink to my name and still NO ONE TO SELL TO, I decided to pass on spending. Too bad Fell couldn't ID my triangle earring... I have been dying to know what that thing does...
Moving on, I went to the smoldering corpse bar... Small place, lots of stuff going on. First of all we see Dak'kon who's name I recognize from the Zerth Blade that appears in BG2; must be another companion. There is a hot head in the middle who won't talk to me. A barkeeper has an eyeball of mine which I can't afford. A goofball named O, who O-pened his mouth and gave me wisdom (whatever)... Getting a bit tired... may stop for now...
Pumped most of the people in the bar for info. Had a rather long talk about the planes with the ghostly guy and he gave me a flat black thing. He also agreed to try helping the scared of portals woman, Ingress, for me. Saving Dak'kon for last I guess... Although I did get him to join me earlier by convincing him he was wrong about Sigil. Not sure I am interested in a fighter/mage since Morte is already a fighter and I want to be a mage, but I suppose beggars can't be choosers so I will think on it. The Mercykillers made mention of Vhailor, who I recognize from his helm in BG2; probably another companion. Not sure if I want to talk to the abishai here, although they seem friendlier to me than most (Morte doesn't trust them of course). I may take a break for now since I still haven't slept.
Talking to the abishai wasn't as interesting or involved as I thought it may be. I think It is time to leave the Smoldering Corpse Bar for now... Seems like Ingress made it home, and she left me her teeth as a parting gift. Yay (for Morte)! Decided to attempt a quest I found earlier by the dead name memorial to kill some starving dogs for justice. [sarcasm] It has been by far the most worthwhile quest I have done yet! I got an ordinary copper earring! Good thing I am not swimming in those already! [/sarcasm] At least Nameless leveled up again.
Just so you guys know, I have been recording this stuff here as I am playing by alt-tabing every once in a while, and then posting when I decide to quit. I find it much easier than playing for several hours and then trying to remember exactly what I did. The downside of this is that if I have to stop short for whatever reason, like right now, the post will be a bit on the short side...
Started again by leveling up Nameless and adding a point to wisdom. Decided to try that mausoleum that I had been putting off for so long. Killed a bunch of lootless skeletons (by the way, I am so glad I am now able to make Morte blunt with those teeth) and looted a bunch of tombs. Even the giant skeletons were not much trouble. I then encountered my first mage enemy, He quickly used horror, which affected Nameless, while Morte taunted and bit him to death. Nameless may have been affected by Horror, but he honestly hasn't been doing much for me so far anyway and it just served to keep him out of trouble. I found out that killing the mage first made me miss some skeleton XP so I reloaded to kill all the skeletons first. This time Nameless made his save and was able to help with those fist irons he has. Morte got pretty lucky with the crits, and was dropping skeletons left and right while taunting the mage. After dispatching the skeletons, Nameless and Morte moved in to attack the mage and Nameless finished him off with a crit from his green steel dagger. Got some nice loot, but I have no idea what it does. I also had no idea what half the mage's spells did so I guess I will have to learn that as I go. As I was leaving, the ghost I met at the start thanked me with 2k XP. Returning to Norochj netted another 1k XP, some bandages and 300 jink (that nearly doubles what I already had)!
Decided it was time to check out the one section of the hive I had not yet been to. When I get there I see... MERCHANTS!!!!!!! MERCHANTS GALORE!!!!!!!!!! YAAAAAAAYYYYY!!!1!!!!11!! FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 I AM SOOOOO HAPPY!!!!!!!!! This must be where they have all been hiding this whole time... Psh... Had I known that... Anyway time to finally do some serious and long overdue shopping and selling! While selling I was able to identify all 3 of my mystery items... Being thrifty about it, I bought a cranium rat charm so I could ID The Magus Guard and the Bone Dagger I had gotten from the Mausoleum on my own after consuming it. The triangle earring required too much lore for it to be cost effective to use rat charms so I just payed to ID that. The Bone Dagger is my first magical weapon (Yay!) and has good stats, so my Nameless will be using that mostly for now. The Magus Guard should be nice to have... If I ever figure out how to become a mage. The triangle earring is different though... I get way more money selling it than by using its ability, but I will hold onto it for now in case there is some way to use it to make lots of money. Sold most of my garbage items from my stash. I noticed that the sell value depreciates when the merchant already has the items so I was able to maximize my take by selling all the jewelry items I had for each type at once. I tried to keep unique or uncommon items (basically stuff not dropped by thugs) because who knows whether or not they could be a portal key... As for shopping, there didn't seem to be too much of interest in the two stores I found. I found Caddock, who I had a quest to deliver a message to, and delivered the message. He seemed concerned, so I offered to track down a slacker for him... free of charge naturally (I am a good guy after all). After this I returned to the mortuary to stash what I couldn't sell and decided to stop for the moment.
I have to make a confession now, guys... I have been splitting my time between playing PST:EE and Morrowind, but now I am really getting hooked on PST:EE... I may still split my time because I don't always feel like chronicling my adventures here, but it is less easy to focus on Morrowind now.
I wandered around a bit more and killed some more thugs when Morte gained a level! This was no ordinary level though as I was then able to command Ingress's Teeth to become magical (yay)! I then killed some more thugs and decided it was time to try my luck on a slightly different type of thug... So I hissed at an abishai... I was floored... When I got 7k XP, that is! Wooo! Having a Magic mouthed Morte is gonna be awesome! Returned to Baen the Sender who gave me his reward and recommended a job for me... Too bad he didn't tell me where to apply... I then went to tell the drunk guy that Caddock needed him to do his job... Fat lot of good that did me. Returned to Caddock and let him hear the news... Caddock was not very happy, but Morte certainly was as he had just learned some new curses! I stuck around and helped Caddock with the job and got... 10 jink... oh boy... I then talked to a fellow named Reekwind... That was a... fun... conversation. He told me a bit about true names though, which I know a bit about from playing HotU (NWN).
Finally found Brasken, who told me more about my dumb box and some kinda curse it had... I am not sure I follow though... You own it and can only get rid of it by giving it to someone else? You die if you open it? So what? Don't freaking open it then! I suppose there is more to it than that though... at least I know where the next stop is in the gong box quest. Taking it to the mage by the mortuary told me more about the box and that I needed to go to the Alley of Dangerous Angles (I kinda forgot about that place...). Went there and found that there seem to be lots of choices to make in this alley... Which means a lot of reload experiments. I did find the guy who was able to get rid of the box, but he only gives 1k XP for it, whereas I get items for killing blobby monster. If I want XP I could just hiss at more abishai. What I need more of at the moment is jink and loot. I think I will reload and open it... Tomorrow. Huh... That is Easter... Happy Easter everyone! Enjoy hunting for Easter Egg Morte! (Don't ask how I know...)
By the way: I actually did manage to figure out what the deal was with Litany of Curses. It is a bug that also exists in BG which could be called the probabilities bug. Basically, when a spell takes effect at the very moment of pausing the game, crazy random crap happens... Such as some effects get applied normally while others get applied more than once, and others still don't get applied at all. It only happens with the auto pause options "Round End" and "Spell Cast" turned on. It also only happens with spells who's effects get applied instantly upon casting. Some examples of this issue (from BG naturally) include: Summoning spells acting odd (like summoning more than one elemental with one cast), Otiluke's Resilient Sphere or Contagion not applying effects correctly, the Nymph Cloak being saved against and affecting the target anyway, and more. This particular bug happens to be my personal nemesis because it is very difficult to fix. I only know of a few ways to do so, and those ways will not work for this specific case; at least not yet.

Screenless twitch is miles better in PST case.
