"Without the support of the Knight Mayor, is there anyone else we can rally for the city's defense?" Vaga asks towards Emeril, but it's an open question, directed at noone and everyone at the same time.
Heh, I kinda agree with @Rik_Kirtaniya and Ignatius, sometime I forget what it is we are doing and why :P It's the quest journals in all games that have spoiled me and my brain!
"So the fact is, the sorceress left, likely to the Abyss. The tapestries back in there with glabrezus hints that the mayor made some demonic pact, and it was time to pay, so his soul was carried away too. I think it's in a soultaker dagger we saw by the sorceress last. Amongst the items the gnome found a talking sword too. He claimed that it is the last piece to use some kind of other soul steeling artifact, a chair. He was quite happy about it, but than the sword vanished from his hands and he left ghrough a portal immediately to check his other items. Also i found a map in the room, hidden in the bed. Callus and "The throne of undying is marked on it. I suspect this throne and the gnome's soul stealing chair is the same. But i agree that we should start with the orcs first."
Kaled tells these to Emeril while they backtrack to the surface.
“Orcs outside, demons inside, and a gnome thrown into the mix,” Emeril says while walking. “I’m sure I can convince the guards that it’s in their best interests to help, but that might not be enough.”
“I have some friends who can help,” Harvey replies. “Though they may need some convincing. Perhaps another adventure is in order?”
Anduin does see a tall orc with gray skin, sitting on a wooden throne and surrounded by other large orcs. He does have a sword on his back, but upon closer inspection, it appears to be a two-handed sword much larger than the sword he is searching for.
“I have some friends who can help,” Harvey replies. “Though they may need some convincing. Perhaps another adventure is in order?”
"Who are your friends and what would it takes to convince them?"
Harvey shrugs and says “Oh, just a few packs of wolves, maybe a bear or two, those friends. Also, there’s a sabre-tooth tiger in my list of friends, and that’s really neat! They might need a favor done in return, but they’d be pretty useful, don’t you think?”
And so the party returns to the surface and bid farewell to Emeril, who heads towards the inn. Harvey leads them not to the gates of town, but to a tree in a nearby patch of grass. “Ready?” he asks with a smile.
Harvey casts a spell and motions the party towards the tree. As they each place their hand upon it, they are suddenly pulled into it, and in the next instant, they find themselves in a lush, vibrant forest. Harvey and Butter appear behind them and start walking deeper into the woods. “Come on, then,” Harvey says with a smile. Butter barks excitedly.
That was a new sensation, traveling through a tree.. He gotta admit he don't like magic that much, but you can't argue it's efficient. He looks around too see if everyone is ok.
Vaga shrugs his shoulders and follows Harvey. he picks up a small pebble from the ground and starts to chew on it, gotta keep those teeth sharp.
Did we go for that dividation of the loot? I don't remember. Should I assume Vaga has that jumping ring now or do we need to play it out? Too bad we didn't have time to sell of the excessive loot back at the S&A.
I didn't mentioned the sharing with Kaled in game so far, because Kaled thinks there are more important things at hand. But Vaga can have the ring for sure. We had to carry the items, so we can assume the sharing dialogue happened in the basement.
The party spends the remaining hours of the day following Harvey through the woods. Nothing interrupts their travels, but the woods are dense, and the pace is slow. Eventually, dusk comes, and Harvey stops and says “We should probably rest here tonight. Going any farther now will tire you all out, I’m sure. Besides, it’s getting dark.” He and Butter walk up to the nearest tree and, with Harvey on his back, Butter walks up the tree like it’s level ground.
1. Flaming Sphere (first thought about Acid Arrow, but then, this one is more interesting of course. )
2. I'm thinking about choosing between Protection from Arrows and Mirror Image, but am not sure yet. Suppose, I take Mirror Image, how would it work here?
Also, is it allowed to replace any existing spell of a lower level to choose another one? (Like it's done in NWN)
Still Mind (Ex) A monk of 3rd level or higher gains a +2 bonus on saving throws against spells and effects from the school of enchantment. (added this since I don't remember if I did the last time we leveled up)
Ki Strike (Su) At 4th level, a monk’s unarmed attacks are empowered with ki. Her unarmed attacks are treated as magic weapons for the purpose of dealing damage to creatures with damage reduction.
low Fall (Ex) At 4th level or higher, a monk within arm’s reach of a wall can use it to slow her descent. When first using this ability, she takes damage as if the fall were 20 feet shorter than it actually is. The monk’s ability to slow her fall (that is, to reduce the effective distance of the fall when next to a wall) improves with her monk level until at 20th level she can use a nearby wall to slow her descent and fall any distance without harm.
Vaga improves his STR to 15. Gotta improve those attack rolls! :P
"Very well." Vaga says. "You can all go to rest. I will keep watch."
With this said, he kneels down beside the tree, his back to it, and goes into a semi-trance state where he's still aware of his surroundings but can sit forever without going mad or bored.
Mirror Image will work like in the srd description. I’ll roll to determine which one gets hit, you or an image.
I’ll say you can replace one lower level spell with a higher level spell every even level, if you so choose. So at level 4 you can replace a level 1 spell with a level 2 spell, at level 6 you can replace a level 1 or 2 spell with a level 3 spell, etc.
I can cast spells now. Um, I assume 1 level 1 cleric spell? I'll take protection from evil if so. Raised my CHA by 1 to make it 17. How do we want to do feats? Or are we not going to?
All right, so as the second new spell, I shall take Mirror Image, and as for the replacement, I'll give up Spider Climb (thought about removing Charm Person since it's the cause of so much woe but maybe it can find use later, also Spider Climb is redundant since I can levitate innately) and in place of that take Summon Swarm (that's basically a stationary, non-party-friendly version of Insect Swarm), which, I believe, will be fun...
We just need to be careful ourselves, so I'd request others to run away to a safe distance when circumstances would force me to resort to casting this spell. Also, since I'm a non-druid caster, the swarm will be stationary, which is both an advantage as well as a disadvantage. Also, in case we need to clear up the swarm, it is best to use Fire spells or AoE damage spells (Flaming Sphere, which I've chosen, will serve this purpose), so we should be fine.
One of my strategies will be Summon Swarm + some time gap + Flaming Sphere...
By the way, is anyone keeping track of our inventory? What I'm thinking about is making a Google Docs file and put all the inventory and character-related info inside it. Then, I can post a link to it here (or maybe I should PM it to everyone for additional security?), and so everyone who has the link can see it as well as edit it, and whenever anyone makes an edit the info will be updated with everyone. You may (optionally) add the file to your Google Drive and you can access it anytime (instead of rummaging the 40+ pages of this thread to find things out). What do you think about this idea?
And then I think we can keep track of feats and such things as well using this method. Our very own Inventory/Stats page!
Go ahead and make that .doc if you want @Rik_Kirtaniya. Sounds like an excellent idea if you feel you got the time to maintain it.
The boring part of playing a monk without feats is that they have practically only passives ('cept stunning fist, but I keep missing those rolls!), so I wouldn't mind a feat or two but perhaps we can make it somewhat simplified.. or should we go all in? With a doc to record it all, it might actually work out. Unless it makes your rolling more difficult @nimran, then we should skip it. I don't want overencumber you with too many extensive rolls.

Orc king, Orc king,
I have an inkling,
Without thinking,
You betrayed me.
*Anduin sees a chamber of Orcs. He looks for the most important one, to see if he has a sword. His sword.*
"We must help the furries!"
Anduin searches throughout the town. but does not notice anything amiss.
I'm on a short mini break to the beach. Can post, but irregularly until Thursday evening.
Ignatius' new spells this level:
1. Flaming Sphere (first thought about Acid Arrow, but then, this one is more interesting of course. )

Ignatius adds +1 to CHA to go to 21 CHA.
