Lockpicking checks: I’ll roll a d100. If you get a higher roll than the required number, you succeed in picking the lock. Lockpicking check: 99, 48, 68
Guston successfully picks the first lock, and he opens the chest. Inside, he finds a wand, four potions of healing, and a small, gray bag. The bag appears empty.
Why don't we just break them locks open? Can we bash chests, @Nimran?
Oh, I remember that I'm still wearing those Gauntlets of Ogre power... If it is allowed, I'll try to break open the locks. But first I'd like to recheck them for traps.
Kaled examines the tapestries. He tries to gain any information from them about the enemy they face.
"Can i help with anything Guston? Also what these stones tell you Harvey?"
Kaled: Lore check: 15+3=18
Kaled remembers seeing such a beast before in a book. It was called a glabrezu, a powerful demon often seen in the company of other demons, such as succubi. They tempt mortals with power, wealth, or fame, in exchange for their mortal soul, and they have the power to grant such a wish. Once certain conditions are met, such as a certain number of years elapsing, the demon, or one of its companions, returns to claim the soul it was promised.
“There was a portal here recently,” Harvey says. “Opened in that wall there.” He points to a section of bare stone on the far wall, next to the bed.
I can open portals... I know the spell... However it would be difficult to create a portal to follow without knowing the location I am going to.
Do the tapestries offer any clues?
@Nimran what roll check would I need to find out where a portal went to and then cast a portal spell to follow? Would you allow it? Do I need a lore check on the tapestries to see if there are clues there?

Having failed to open the second chest, Ignatius now examines the wand to know of its utility. Then he carefully examines the gray bag, and rummages inside it with his hands to see if it is really empty.
"Here, take the wand, it is all yours, For turnips have no use for me. For unless they can fight or do other chores, They are as useless as anything can be."
I was hoping for at least a wand of magic missile!

Harvey walks over to the trapped chest and casts a spell. He touches the lock, which immediately starts to rust and dissolve. He then opens the chest and takes out a glowing green scimitar.
“What, this?” Harvey asks. “It’s my share of the treasure. There’s plenty of other stuff in this chest, though, if you want to take a look.” He moves to the side, and the party can see a number of arms and items inside.
1 long sword 2 daggers 1 rapier 1 long bow 2 wands 2 rings
"I hope the bracers were helpful to you, though you should ask before 'borrowing' someones possesions" *Fiora doesn't even bother looking in the chest* "I got so much of the previous share, you guys shoulddivide it amongst yourselves."
@Rik_Kirtaniya Fiora doesn't know what you did to save her life when she was unconcious.
Oh man, a rapier. I keep forgetting those are an option in DnD. Too much Baldur's Gate I guess.

Guston is unable to pick the other locks.
Ignatius notices that the third chest’s lock is trapped.

Ignatius hits the lock, but it doesn’t open.

After spending a moment studying the wall, Anduin is able to piece together where the portal had led: to the Abyss itself.
"These gauntlets have served their purpose for me,
So I bestow them back to where they should be." Having failed to open the second chest, Ignatius now examines the wand to know of its utility. Then he carefully examines the gray bag, and rummages inside it with his hands to see if it is really empty.
What are you... Let me.
*Anduin casts:Knock*
Ignatius can tell that the wand is a Wand of Turnip Summoning! It summons up to 12 magical turnips three times a day!
Ignatius then puts his hand into the supposedly empty bag and feels a small, fuzzy ball inside.
Ignatuis please can I have a turnip?
What's in this chest that you failed to open? Did my spell work?
For turnips have no use for me.
For unless they can fight or do other chores,
They are as useless as anything can be."
Guston fails to disarm the trap. Fortunately, he doesn’t also trigger the trap.
“This trap might be beyond my abilities, guys...” says Guston in frustration as a boil pops all over his lockpick set.
Ignatius doesn’t pick up on any thoughts from the rat. It continues to stare at him.
Thank you Ignatuis!
*Anduin opens the second chest and starts rummaging through its contents.*
Harvey could you summon a gust of wind to lift the lid off the trapped chest in safety?
Gold. Useless, inert, shiny metal... pah... I suppose the necklace may have an enchantment...
*Anduin looks at the scimitar, his eyes become as wide as saucers.*
What... What do you have there Harvey?
1 long sword
2 daggers
1 rapier
1 long bow
2 wands
2 rings
*Fiora doesn't even bother looking in the chest*
