Administrator reset my password?

So I tried to login and got a message that an administrator had likely reset my password. Did this occur automatically? Is it something that's happening to multiple users? I'm in now, obviously, but I am curious about what happened.

Best,

Don't know what happened, but I can confirm that it happened to me as well. Reset my password and it resolved itself... very weird indeed.

Ah, I was just going to ask if something was wrong with my account. Glad to know it's a system thing.

It's system wide. Probably Vanilla changed something in the roles function that forced a reset.

I thought maybe it was making the password protocol mandatory - my old password was rejected for use again as being too simple ...

Software developers should learn already that if people are fine with weak passwords, then they're fine with it and that's the end of discussion. Like maybe because the benefit of not having to remember or write down a complex password dramatically outweighs the possibility of the account getting hacked.
"Protecting" people from themselves all over again, what a cancer.

Those come with their risks though, like putting all eggs into single basket.

Actually you can have an encrypted local database... Make it a sha256 or better encryption and good luck to anyone trying to break your database :)

It's not someone else breaking it that concerns me ;)

Well forgetting your master password would be a huge trouble to say the truth :)

write it on a piece of paper and put it on the wall. just camouflage into some other piece of information such as a phone number or an appointment, a restaurant flyer etc.
