I copied the Baldur.lua file from the above configuration to my MacBook Pro and added the CLUA Console activation instruction. Then I copied this modified Baldur.lua file back to the above configuration and replaced it in the Baldur’s Gate II folder in Files. When I start the game or load a save file, however, it reinitializes Baldur.lua, erasing the CLUA Console setting. How can I make this setting stick? I want to be able to create the De’Arnise Keep Messenger when I miss this character during play, so I can complete the Keep quests. Locking the file does not seem to make any difference.

Our QA just tried: copying the Baldur.lua and adding this line seems to work fine (we copied it to an iPhone, booted the game, copied it back to a Mac, and it was still in the file). One note is that the game does sort the Baldur.lua, so the line may not be exactly where the user put it (e.g. we put it near the top, but after the steps, it was near the bottom).

    SetPrivateProfileString('Program Options','Debug Mode','1')

But all that said, we don't think getting the console working on iOS is possible because we don't yet support keyboards, unfortunately.

How would you send the CTRL+SPACE keys to the game to actually open the console, even if it is enabled? It may be possible in a future patch once we support hardware keyboards.

Point made and acknowledged. I belatedly realized that myself, when I noticed that the only modifier key on the software keyboard is the Shift/Caps Lock key. It didn’t occur to me before. C’est la guerre…

For what it’s worth, I haven’t noticed problems like this with other messengers, including Jaheira’s Harper Hold story, Anomen’s knighthood, or Nalia’s father’s funeral and subsequent abduction, for example. These all seem to appear and interact as intended. The only one I notice having trouble with is the De’Arnise Keep messenger, after installing Bolumir in the Keep chapel. I’ll have to try keeping tabs on it when I get to that point in an ongoing play.

And I just followed all the QA steps you gave above, with the verbatim command, though I copied it at the bottom of the file. It worked the same for me as you described. When I opened the file again after copying it back to my MacBook Pro from my iPad, the command was still in the file, but had been moved to several lines from the top of the file. Six of one, half a dozen of another, I guess.

First: thanks for all the work. I am really excited with the ability to mod easier on Android.
I have try to install 2 classic mods : ascension and scs but it fails.

The install works fine on pc. I ran a clear_imports. Then I copied override and lang/en_us/dialog, I do and wait for the sync. But when I start the game it crashes before showing the intro videos.

    What did I do wrong?

Why cant I post anything here? Does anyone know where i could download this mod?

I'm guessing you mean Skills and Abilities.

    https://morpheus-mart.com/skills-and-abilities

It's under the Class Updates section of the mod (Bard skills).

What about fixing bugs? What about better pathfinding, like in the classic BG2? The old game didn't have that problem, but with the EE version, you introduced a bug where multiple companions get stuck in one spot.

Siege of Dragonspear Beta 2.7.3.0, Core Rules, no mods, iPad Air 5th Generation, iPadOS 26.5

Complete the Drow Runaways quest by helping the runaways fake their deaths, regardless of whether Shapur buys it. Also complete Murs and the Brigands so Murs becomes tribe leader and The Dungeon Slug so that Slug escapes and gets back to his tribe. Visit the ogre tribe to check up on everyone afterward. Only Umar appears to be there, Kaylet not visible so far as I can tell. When Umar is clicked on and the dialogue option to ask how they are doing selected, the button reads End Dialogue, not Continue, and the box closes without a response. Clicking on Umar thereafter only elicits a static response, and the button reads Continue. Is this correct behavior? Please advise. For reference, Murs and Slug both respond with what appears to be regular dialogue, and give the Ring of Fire Resistance as a bonus.

@JuliusBorisov Bubb has already requested a PDB for the new engine update, and I was hoping that we could receive a non-stripped Linux binary to work with as well. I've been working on porting EEex to Linux over the past couple of months, but progress has been slow, mainly due to struct layout drifts between the Linux and Windows versions of the engine that require manual reverse-engineering efforts each time. Would that be possible? Thanks!

@lukas_beyer, wouldn't it be great if the EE engine offered the modded features directly and had less stuff hardcoded? Maintaining binary patches feels brittle and not future proof.

EEex on Linux would be great.

For bg2 modding on Android, do we still need to tweak the .obb file to remove the dialog.tlk? I see many invalid references.

This is a semi-noob question: the patch is only available via steam and GOG?

If you're asking regarding the Beamdog Client, then no, the patch is not available there, as the Client no longer works. https://store.beamdog.com/faq

The patch is available on Steam, GOG, EGS, Microsoft Store, App Store, Mac Apple Store, Google Play.
