All these references are reminding me how awesome Heroes season 1 was. And how bad 2 and 3 were.
@Eudaemonium: Compared to season 4, 2 and 3 were almost decent. I still don't get why the hell Peter needed Sylar to save Emma. "Hm, what are my options? Take Doyle's power and simply make him stop controlling her? Naaa, that's stupid, let's go free a serial killer, what could possibly go wrong here?"
@OneAngryMushroom: Not completely, I was also building up to the He-Man reference. XD
@KidCarnival: Bizarrely, I actually preferred Season 4 to season 3. I have no idea why, because it was completely ludicrous. I think maybe I was just glad that everybody wasn't a Petrelli anymore.
@Eudaemonium: You have a point. My main issue was that... "ohmai a carnival, instant improvement!" "oh, wait, why are they messing this up by making everyone painfully stupid?" And frankly, I hated Sylar's redemption. I love failed redemption attempts or paying a really steep price (Londo Mollari in Babylon 5, Lon Suder in Voyager, to a degree, Michael in Stargate Atlantis) and thought that's what they were going for with Matt's mental prison. Then this Care Bears finale happened and I facepalmed.
@KidCarnival: Yeah, the finale was really, really dumb. But it was really the crowning moment of, like you said, everyone acting like complete idiots that entire season. Ultimately, I don't think it was too much of a tragedy that the series didn't get renewed for Season 5. It also felt like a good moment to end, with Clare's revelation, and everyone's characters having been either literally or figuratively assassinated.
I recall rather liking Samuel as a villain though, much better than Arthur. I thought Season 2 could have been better had it been longer, but Adam Monroe was pretty epic. Season One Sylar remains the best by far, though. The series would have been a lot better if they'd stuck with the original plan of having a completely new cast in every season.
@Eudaemonium: There was a lot insane stupidity before, but season 4 underlined it in every episode. I still can't decide what was a bigger jerk move; the whole Sylar as Nathan thing (even undecided who was the jerk in that one), or Hiro sending Mohinder to a padded cell "to protect him" (Hiro had idiot tendencies from the start, but this was so stupid, it counts as out of character).
Season 2 being so short was the beginning of the end for me; it was really hard to recover from the glaring plotholes after that. Plus the more than obvious reset button on nearly everyone to remove the powers that were too strong to make sense... MEMORY LOSS FOR EVERYONE.
I generally like twists and main characters changing sides, too, but they just overdid it (especially with Noah Bennet and Sylar; honorable mention to Nathan for going from "everyone should have powers" to "everyone with powers should be locked up" within a day).
Season 1 was awesome; after that, it went downhill. I wish they had cancelled a season earlier or, like you said, stuck to a much higher cast change. It would have been okay to keep a few characters, to tie seasons together, but some people simply had no business being alive in the finale. (Sylar, I'm looking at you and the 15 times you were "almost dead, surprise, he isn't"...)
Since this is Forgotten realms it'd have to be a... what? Crate infused with the power of the elemental plain of ice? Still, sounds awesome.
How come Heroes got 4 season and Firefly only got one (and not even that, since it was axed before fully airing? Life isn't fair. (#firstworldproblems)
I've never actually watched the Sarah Connor Chronicles, though it did look awesome. Ironically, the only thing I really know about it is that the intro theme for the Japanese dub version was sung by Gackt.
Was that entire thing a build up for a spiritual hammer pun? Whatever it made me laugh. Also is it just me or did the number of crazy people take a significant jump in the realms lately.
I am NOT CRAZY! ...my mother had me tested.
@Anduin - I love Firefly. And Monty Python (despite not being a Brit), Simpsons, Black Books and Leverage. Actually, I only watched the first season of Heroes...never got around to watch the latter seasons.
Okay... You didn't hear it from me... But if you want to avoid going over the top... Put two pencils up you nose and go *wibble*
@Anduin stares at the campfire and wonders about the talk of black adders. Can they poison you if your dead? Do they eat cauliflower? and other questions of import fill his mind...
*A myconid looks up from a strange device called a "nintendo DS" that had captured his attention and realized that he didn't see his party members, camp site, or anything else familiar for that matter* Crap. What happened! *looks to the ground and discovers mummy footprints* THERE! *Runs off as fast as his squishy legs will take him* CURSE YOU! SMT DEVIL SURVIVOR CURSE YOU!
So far, none of us died in game, but as soon as that happens, I'll make someone Jordan Collier from The 4400, just to confuse you all back with cryptic semi-religious messages.
Southpaw slightly knocked on @Samus' left shoulder plate. Shouldn't we leave these areas and go somewhere else? The Beholder keeps singing, Shroom forgets himself in the shady places and Anduin is trying to hug the wandering skeletons (Much to their surprise).
I would travel to the rocky cliffs of the surface undersea, where my folk build ships and raide...ehm. I seem to be forgetting myself...(wonder if that's the Hammer's doing...nice Hammer...my...preciousss...) ~*shakes head*~
Anyway, I heard the coasts are quite safe and there are pretty girls offering drinks...
Look at you! All skin and bone! ...well all bone. What you need is a good feed! And a few bandages!
* @Anduin starts taking vegetables and feeding skeletons... The vegetables fall out onto the ground through the rib cage...*
Well this is not going to work... Hang on!
* @Anduin begins removing skulls, placing vegetables into the cavity then screwing them back onto the skeleton... *
How does that feel?
Phase 1 has begun... All hail Broccoli!
Errr... Yes. Vegetables are a great source of vitamins!
*Meanwhile, inside the brain cave... @Anduin's skull*
Excellent. Excellent. Soon. Soon, vegetables will be at the top of the food chain... We will fight them... There dead will join our number... Our army will grow... There carcasses the rotting manure for our growth! WE WILL FARM THEM FOR OUR NEEDS!
HERE ME FAERUN! YOU WILL REAP THIS HARVEST OF HATE!

I feel we need to lock someone who has been brainwashed into an assassin to be locked into cryogenic crate...

Also, as you might have worked out, you weren't missing out on anything by not watching past Season 1.

No... There has to be a better way...
