Rise of the triad Epic pinball Raptor call of the shadows One must fall 2097
Back then, music was much more important to the game experience. The music of todays games i forget quickly but the old tunes still linger...
Rise of the Triad!!! I remember that music... apologies if this has been mentioned in the thread but have you played the remake? It's actually quite good, and keeps most of the spirit of the original, and the music is all metal remakes of the original music, but you can actually have the original soundtrack instead. Here's the new one:
Let's get really retro: does anybody remember the original Carrier Command? Furthermore, did anybody have the boxed version that came with a cassette, with this soundtrack on it? - seriously, I grew up on this stuff!
@Shandyr Hordes of the Underdark had some amazing music. It was probably my favourite of the NWN original campaigns.
@Foggy Dragon Age: Origins was an incredible game, especially the music. Bioware put so much of their hearts into it, and it showed. It's such a shame they spoilt it with the second game (although they can't officially say so, I remain convinced that a lot of it was down to EA).
@ChildofBhaal599 Ah, Morrowind...that was another beautiful theme tune!
@typo_tilly oh, the Stones!! How I loved that tune...although I never grew up with the Ultima games, I did play Ultima Online for a while, and remember the tune from that. I think the guy who made Ultima was obsessed with ancient Briton lore, and that song was basically about Stonehenge.
Ooh, the second one too. The first game I played much online multiplayer, and the only RTS I ever got any good at, my friends and I were obsessed for a while. I don't even want to think about how many times I've heard this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-b5X69vREAg
So I listened to the whole soundtrack and its great, playing FFIX now for the first time since I just got a PSVita from a friend. Normally I hate JRPGs but this game is awesome. Vivi is the adorablest and Freya is also super cute with her knightly-ness.
some songs I really wanted to post, but the title or picture had stuff that may be considered a spoiler by some (ex: labeling it "insert name's" boss theme)

Jetstrike, an old Amiga game from the mid 1990s, had some cool music:
Does anybody remember the second Elite game, Frontier? Even if you're not obsessed with the new one like I am, you probably remember this intro music:
And let's not forget Doom: (people have made metal covers of just about all of the Doom music, and some of them are pretty damn good!)
Let's get really retro: does anybody remember the original Carrier Command? Furthermore, did anybody have the boxed version that came with a cassette, with this soundtrack on it?
Oh, and the first ever Grand Theft Auto game had this theme - normally I can't stand rap, but this just sounds awesome!
Yeah...I think that'll do for now.
eta: sorry, one more - simply because my sisters were both obsessed with this game!:

seriously wish they would release the soundtrack in the US. i've just been playing this game every second these last 2 days
edit: just learned the soundtrack is available for digital download in US
What about the Amiga Version where it all started?

I've only played Golden Axe 1, but I came across this soundtrack a few years back, I enjoyed it.
And I love all the oldies in Fallout: New Vegas
