I EDIT: do not have two (stupid) questions.
EDIT: The first one was because i was looking at the wrong game language. Sorry for the bother.
    1. Some string references are displayed to be "out of range", a lot for my EET install but also for my modded SoD install. I have a faint recall that this does not mean the strings are not present, only that NI can't display them. Would you explain to me (again) how I can increase the range so they get displayed?
Wrong game language would have been my first guess, too.
    2. I'm on Linux Mint and installed Near Infinity via my App Manager. Do I therefore always get the most current version without having to manually update (assuming I am doing the suggested updates of the update manager)? - OK, quick check in my App Manager says I'm already on v2.4-20250611 so this is answered. Cool!
Yes, the Flatpak version of NI is automatically updated by package managers on Linux.

I have the problem with the latest version of NI that the Bam Converter sometimes cuts off the lower part of a png picture when creating V2 PVRZ bams (for description bams), whereas this does not happen with older versions of NI.

The BAM V2 encoding issue should be fixed now. It can already be tested in the nightly release.
