whenever the patch will get out it will be a blessing for us tho I do hope they added that new red push button for picking up all the loots around like they added in bg2ee
#1: Problems with the default male and female soundset
In the beta, the two default soundsets (male and female) do not work anymore. The sounds play fine when listening to them during character creation or on the Customize Character screen, but when the default soundset is chosen, the character simply does not emit those sounds in-game. Both the male and the female soundset appear to be mute when they are selected.
Furthermore, if the default male or female soundset is chosen, the soundset's subtitles are always displayed in the combat log, even if subtitles are disabled (Options -> Sound -> Character Sounds -> Subtitles).
The bug is present in the beta, but not in BG:EE v1.2.0, so it must have been introduced by one of the beta changes.
I had a talk with Tresset about this, I guess that this could be a back ported bug from BG2:EE, because they've said that they've backported the feature of the custom soundsets from BG2:EE.
The BG1 voice sets that came with the latest beta patch (1.3?) seem to have some kind of issue with the battlecry. It seems like roughly 2/3 of the time instead of simply playing the audio of the battlecry when you select a target to attack it makes no sound and the subtitle for the battlecry pops up in the log. I have subtitles turned off so that really shouldn't be happening in the first place.
When they back ported sound slots (for the 2DA files, the CRE have the slots anyway) from BG2:EE, they have one of BG2EE's bugs, the same string shows for all the (respectively) different battles cries of the PC's voices (for example, FEMALE02 says 'This shall be fun' and 'Hahahaha', but only the text for 'Hahahaha" is shown even when the 'This shall be fun' audio reproduces).

You are right, it is definitely a back-ported bug because actually, the same problem currently exists in BG2:EE v1.2.2030 as well, and has already been reported - I guess I'm not going out on a limb when I conclude that it is issue #6985, which used to be a BG2:EE-only bug. But now it affects BG:EE as well, due to the post-v1.2.0 updates being incorporated in this beta.
So to clarify: This is not just a problem specific to this beta but rather a universal bug introduced sometime after BG:EE v1.2.0 that now affects all updated game versions.
The android version was just updated today to version 1.3 and I was wondering where could I find the patch notes. I noticed the chat box was increased in size horizontally.
@squalltheonly Android version is 1.3.something since release (a week ago), actually. Latest update was on friday. At least that what Google Play tells me (no update). The dialog area is wider because of an increased size of text to better suit smaller screens of tablets and phones, notably. It used to use the whole width but some people in the Windows beta complained about that and the increased font. The dialog area in the latest Windows beta version is less wide than the Android version, but still wider than it used to be, I think.
@Dee answered that patch notes would be available when the patch is released, ie for the Windows/Mac OS X version. For Android, this is not a patch but the release version. If you read the beginning of the topics about the phases, you'll already find a lot of information about the changes.
Well, the width increase on android happened just last night, or yesterday or today morning. Cuz I played Friday and it was the same vanilla length. Glad it did though.
I would aim at the beginning of May, since all Roads started at the beginnig of each month and 1 May will be exactly half of the year since patch 1.2.
Yep! And also, every time Trent Oster wrote on his twitter that patch will be released soon, it was always released soon. He wrote it on 24.4., I think, so it could be out this week. I really hope so, cause there are bank holiday on Thursday in my country, so I would love to enjoy extended weekend with BGEE hand in hand. :-)
Let us hope. i have been obsessively checking every day. Wish my last run through had taken a bit longer. Just sitting around waiting for this patch is killing me. Of course, I am gratified they are taking their time to get it right. Wonder how long it will take for the next patch of BG2EE to come through... I may have to take my post patch BGEE run through nice and slow. "Hey, guys, let's play hide and seek in cloakwood one more time. Minsc, you're it! Count to 10!" "Boo says Minsc can only count to to 2!"
While it is not too late, I'd like to draw your and also other people's attention to the fact that tweet WAS NOT about an update (or a patch) to BG:EE!
I'd just like a progress update at this point. The whole concept of a "Road to X" doesn't really work if it's been a month and the progress meter is stalled at 0/721.

This, especially after that self-congratulatory nonsense on Gamasutra...
Greetings from Germany, I hope to this patchwork the German language folder is included in the latest grammatical translation (BG2). For the other non-English languages of the world, for example in Dutch or Irish (both games).
Ask: Minsc currently very coarse Saxon speaks - ..., the citizens speak in Hesse - Dynaheir in German with Russian dialect. (it would be nice to implement the language files in the second part then take over or vice versa., to preserve the authenticity, also increases the replay value.) I`ve been noticed far in the English version, as the spokesman of the same type issued to have, that is not boring? Or are you in a different opinion? Irish, Welsh, British, Russian - and American English?
Notice: Discovered spelling mistakes you could get over, it was created by the Google translator. Thank you for your feedback
Last time we did it we managed it in about a week. We don't need a lot of confirmations, but we do want to make sure that everything's working correctly.
I imagine that next time, the conversation will look more like this:
Don't hate me! I'm only kidding around! But seriously, is there ANY update? A buddy and I have been waiting to start a multiplayer game since the first post. It'd be awesome to just be able to see some kind of status update on here. Like... X/721? Or maybe a status update on how many bugs are left to be fixed before it can be released?
BGEE 1.3.2049 just popped up on the Mac App store. Given the lack of fanfare around here, I am guessing it slipped through the Apple process faster than expected and so leaks to the Mac early, expect the patch for other platforms is imminent (unless we are about to see this patch revoked, downloading as I write!)
Thanks for BeamDog for this wonderful surprise though, looking forward to a patch for BG2EE in due course - but it looks like I am now due to spend a little more time with the original again!
I just downloaded the app store patch and tested it for maybe 90 minutes, but I'm really sorry to say that I'm not too impressed and actually hoping that some mistake happened and the real thing will be coming later. So far I've noticed one real nice thing - the color-coding for learnable spells (although I think it's kind of sloppy that for the sorcerer all spells are marked as learnable), whereas all other changes I've seen make things worse (at least for me), the most annoying being: If you press the tab key at any position now the tooltip for some random character pops up, so if you - like me - keep tab pressed while looting, it's spamming tooltips, making looting even more taxing than before. By the way, I expected the Quick-loot-bar being in this patch, which it is apparently not. The rest are minor things, like one dot not moving on the map while walking or the cheap-looking super-upscaled font for item stacks. Certainly no big problems, but still - if you see all these things in the first few minutes, it just doesn't feel to polished.
@molloy I certainly hope that's not the finished product, then. It sounds like one of those bad patching attempts that introduces more issues than it resolves. Which has unfortunately happened before with BG:EE.
Wow, i just came back to see what were the news for BGEE and BG2EE since i couldn't come here for several months. Seems i didn't miss a single thing.
I'll come back in 8 months to see how is going the next step of the patch beta phase. If every patch for PC now needs something like 10 months or more, i guess the next patch for Bg2EE will be ready for 2015 ? Of course 2015 is the optimistic guess.
On a more serious note, it's really sad to see that the team has almost given up working on these games (and especially BG2EE), now that they have been released.
FYI, the OSX Beamdog launcher doesn't show an update, but the beta launcher does update to v1.3.2049.
@molloy - None of the beta screenshots in the "Road to v1.3" threads had the quick loot bar, nor does the Android version (which already lists v1.3). However, @Pecca has created a mod to bring the BG2EE GUI to BGEE, quick loot bar included.
Oh, I really wasn't well informed about the features of this patch, I just thought, for whatever reason, that patch might somehow unify the EE-Engines. And I didn't hope that much for the quick loot bar, since it wasn't working so well anyway (messing up stacking etc.). So I don't even complain about it being absent. I do complain however about the mentioned tab-key-tooltip-problem. That is so terrible. If you press tab, you can't see what's around your mouse-pointer, and even worse, each time you press tab you have to hear that annoying tooltip-sound.
So what I really need is a mod or baldur.ini-line to disable the tooltip on pressing tab.
I find this pretty remarkable. This seems to be such a small problem and still I probably can't play this game anymore before this is fixed.

If you look closely,
is actually an answer to
The thing is the MAC version of BG2:EE is at 1.2.0 rather than 1.2.2030 which is what everyone else on other platforms uses.
So, the update Trent Oster told us about has nothing to do with BG:EE v. 1.3. It is about the MAC version of BG2:EE.
The only time we'll be able to have BG:EE at 1.3 is when the phase III at least is over.
if i install the new patch (when it comes out) mid-game, will the bugs fixed or do i need to restart a new gameplay to see the changes?

I don't have any son yet.
