    Is that a no?
    @meagloth‌ Wait a minute! So you post a meme with Captain Kirk in it and you don't know what that means? Tsk tsk tsk.
    Oh, yea, those aren't my memes, @Tresset‌. I stole them from google images. I only wish I watched start trek. Its before me, really.

    You haven't seen Star Trek... What... *Jaw drops a little* Picard is before NO ONE! :O

    Would anyone care to explain the German sense of humour...? I don't know why this is funny...

    @Sergio‌

    I see we have your question unanswered for more than a day (!) It can't go on like this :)

    BG:EE works fine using Wine (the middleware that lets you run Windows apps on Linux) but a native linux version is still in the works. See http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/20616/trent-confirms-linux-version-still-in-the-plan#latest .

    Is there any way to get a decent stash of Asp's Nests or Poisoned Throwing Daggers?

    The places that sell them seem to have an extremely limited supply...

    Are they deliberately in short supply for power reasons?

    @abacus‌ Hmm, I don't think there is sadly. Not sure why they are so rare... Half way through ToB I only have 157 and I have been getting every one I found. Never used one...

    What weapon should Dorn use in my party? (BG2) This is end game, btw.

    Here's the team/definite weapon decisions:

    Sarevok: Ravager

    Korgan: AotU + Crom Faeyr

    PC (F/M/T): Angurvadal + Dagger of the Star

    Viconia: FoA

    Edwin: Who cares, he's a mage.

    Dorn: ?

    Maybe a greatsword for Dorn? I can't remember if I chose what he'll use before now, and I'd like something to write down so I won't forget.

    @demented‌ AHH! Thank you! :D That was handy! :D I shall have to attend a "Satirical Cabaret Show" I think , , , You in? :P

    @Elrandir you could always give Crom Faeyr to Viconia? It turns her into a decent backup fighter. :)
    Failing that, Erinne Sling +4 or Sling of Arvoreen +4 and Storm Star

    Mmmm Dorn. . . Ixil's Spike +6. LOVES me a spear! So underrated!
  • ElrandirElrandir Member Posts: 1,664
    @‌CaloNord I'm good for Viconia. She'll FoA it up. Korgan's got the Crom Faeyr as his baby. And spear, huh? Actually that doesn't sound bad... Hehe Two big burly men in plate mail with pole weapons makes me think of my character having a royal honor guard.

    @Elrandir‌
    Hunt around Watcher's Keep and you'll score Dorn's perfect weapon.... Not even going to attempt spelling it, but it's Carsomyr's moody cousin.
  • ElrandirElrandir Member Posts: 1,664
    @abacus‌ Oh right! That thing! Is it good straight through ToB?

    Hi.
    Couple questions to community:
    1. Can I steal +3 Scimitar from Drizzt in BG:EE (or even +5)?
    2. Where can I find info on new items (magical and non-magical) in BG:EE and BG2:EE (description and location)?
    (for original BG1 and BG2 items I'm using Game Banshee data base, for example)
  • JuliusBorisovJuliusBorisov Member, Administrator, Moderator, Developer Posts: 22,754
    @SorrowSeer‌

    1. Now - yes, you can. Although in the 1.3 patch Drizzt will be equipped with his scimitars and you can't steal equipped weapon, so as soon as the game is patched you will no longer will be able to steal his scimitars.

    2. http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/8110/a-guide-to-new-magic-items-in-bg-ee-spoilers/

    Thank you!

    And another question:

    Can I by cheats make appear a specific BG2/BG2:EE item in BG1:EE (i.e. "Ring of Human Influence")?

    @SorrowSeer, if by cheats you mean just using the CLUA console, then no. For some items it's possible, but the Ring of Human Influence is not among the game resources in BG:EE.

    However, it is quite easy to mod that ring in BG:EE. You just have to export ring30.itm from BGII:EE and add the ring name and description with few WeiDU lines.

    If you want, I can do it for you. I don't have BGII:EE, but I could eventually use ring30.itm from vBG2, so let me know if this is good enough for you.

    @CaloNord I went to a Russian cabaret show once which was very interesting. An offer to see a satirical German one is very enticing.
  • CaloNordCaloNord Member Posts: 1,809
    @demented‌ I'm very jealous. I speak a little German but probably not enough at the moment to understand what's going on. :P Never the less! :D

    General Question: What are we looking at DLC wise in the far future? New quests? Future NPC? An expansion? What type of thing are Beam Dog leaning towards over the horizon?

    I understand that the Adventure Y is the future DLC-like product. From what is known, it would probably be an expansion with new quests that would end with Irenicus catching your party. I doubt there will be any new NPCs, though. I do hope that not only Irenicus but also NPCs of old are voiced in this expansion, Dynaheir for e.g. Maybe even Minsk :)

    @bengoshi‌ That sounds like a beautiful place start. Bridging the two series together like that would be great! :D Thanks buddy! :D Awesome summary by the way, very insightful! :) Personally, I hate DLC but I don't mind buying extra things for BG. :) New content for this game is always welcome! :D

    Expansions are good. DLC not so much. That said, I suppose I would pay for more content.

    I have a question regarding 3.5 pnp rules. I want to play baldurs gate 1, 2, and IWdale 1 and 2 with permadeath involved. What difficulty option should I choose to enable that?
    TOEEvil has iron man mode, as does Knights of the Chalice. What about these games.
  • TressetTresset Member, Moderator Posts: 8,268
    @KKnight‌ Core difficulty and above should have permadeath enabled.
  • jackjackjackjack Member Posts: 3,251
    @Sergio‌
    It's been established that Adventure Y will bridge the gap between BG1 & BG2.

    Yes, I'd like you to.

    P.S. Will there be any problems with Steam-version of BG:EE and different mods (BG1 NPC Project, for example)?

    @SorrowSeer, this mod is so simple that there will be no problems with Steam or other mods. Just extract the content of the attached archive in the folder with chitin.key and run the setup as with any WeiDU mod. To get the ring in-game, you must use the console, once the mod is installed, i.e.

    C:CreateItem("ring30")
    If you prefer to avoid the console, it's also possible to put the ring somewhere (a store, a container, a creature, etc.). If you want to do that, just let me know where should I put it and I will attach a modified version of the mod.
