For the Bards stronghold quest for the playhouse in BG2, I have the option of writing the play myself, which I looked online and was told is was determined by your Charisma stat. Now I currently am wearing a ring that makes my charisma 18, so I wanted to know if me writing the play would take my buffed charisma into account, or would take the unbuffed version of it.

@superluccix The buffed CHA would be considered. Go for it! It's such a fun task!

In IWD:EE, in the Orog/Drow area off of Upper Dorn's Deep, there's a room with forges and anvils. I thought I remembered that there was a container in this room that held the Axe of Caged Souls, among other things, but now there are no clickable containers in this room. Did this get changed for version 1.4, or do I remember it wrong?

According to Haeravon's walkthrough, it's not in a container, it's just a pile of loot on the floor.

... When they're dead, loot them for their
magical gear, and grab the loot on the floor near the forge at
    (x=2395, y=640).

    ***ITEMS***
(x=2395, y=640) Mithral Field Plate Armor +2*1, Axe of Caged Souls*2,
Heavy Cross Bow of Accuracy*3, Bolt of Biting x10,
Bolt of Lightning x10, Scroll of Spider Spawn

Hm. It definitely wasn't on the floor, either. Maybe I rested before picking it up. Thanks!

I just completed the warrior stronghold questline. What exactly was the point of me trying to make sure my people liked me? I looked online and it doesnt seem to be some sort of benefit for doing so.

If the populace likes you, then you can raise taxes higher without them revolting.

It's mostly down to the first two letters in RPG.

    ^ Thanks.

New question. I would like to remove Jaheira from my party in order to pick up this Mazzy chick. However when I remove Jaheira, she gives the lines of "Have I....Have I made a mistake investing my time in you? I doubt I will see you in the same fashion if I can be cast aside as any other party member"

And when I tell her to leave she says "I....I see. Then I was foolish. I will not.....show such weakness again. I will be at the Harpers Hold in Athkatla. I look forward...I will await you there"

I dont believe that Im in a relationship with her. Though she does talk to me the most out of the party members I have.

So basically my question is this. If I remove Jaheira now, will I be locked out of her romance? (Dont know if I want to romance her, but I like the option available)

  • ElrandirElrandir Member Posts: 1,664
@superluccix To my knowledge, Jaheira has to always remain in your party if you want to romance her.
  • BillyYankBillyYank Member Posts: 2,768
You can drop a romanceable character if the romance hasn't actually started yet, then pick them up later and the romance can then start. If you've had the first "love talk", then you can't drop them without ending the romance. If you search the forums, there's a clua command that will allow you to examine the romance variables and see if the romance has started.

Are there any way to remove critical hit protection from a helmet?

It requires modding and it can be done on both the EE games and the originals+ToBEX.

You just have to set flag 25 on the helm(s) with your favourite modding tool. For example, with NearInfinity:

Is there any particular reason that clerics and druids have very few, if any, spells in the illusion school that they can cast? I noticed that in both BG and NWN there are a scant few illusion spells that are available to the divine casters. I think Pixie Dust is the only one in BG. Is this something like how clerics can't use blunt weapons?

There is also Nature's Beauty (and arguably Improved Invisibility when it comes to Avengers).

What is it with Find Traps? I have it set at 100% and yet keep missing traps. I sit and count to ten before moving a short distance forward and yet still don't find a bunch of traps. It's really starting to piss me the fuck off.
  • DelglathDelglath Member Posts: 6
Oh this is ridiculous. I just stood right next to where I know a trap is set off and cast Find Traps and it still didn't show up. Are there just a bunch of traps that cannot be found at all, no matter what you do or how skilled the character is? If so, that's fucking retarded.

100 in Find Traps should be enough to detect any trap.

Just have patience and move cautiously. Also, enable the Auto-Pause "Trap found".

Did all of that. No matter how long I wait, some traps just don't appear.

@Delglath You should create a bug report then, where you describe the whole situation (including the game version and mods you use) and actions you do, as well as the game behavior. Also, zip and attach the save file.

Are you playing IWD? There's several undetectable traps in that game.

What game are you playing? Where are you in that game? Are you running any mods?

Not directly related to BG, but close enough.

Where is the best place (only place?) to download EE:keeper?

Does EE:keeper also work on IWD:EE?

Is there a place on the forums (or elsewhere) with abundant and easy to find information on EE:keeper?

@Tresset Is there a specific section of that that would be particularly helpful? That is, after all, a 43 page long thread.

I glanced at that thread quickly and paid little attention before flipping to page 43. Having now flipped back to page 1 I see that I am a nincompoop and should pay more attention.

@Elrandir The OP should have everything you need. Odd that that link didn't take you there. Try this one: https://forums.beamdog.com/discussion/16497/ee-keeper-updated-to-v1-0-3/p1

Is there any other way to check the "Random Treasure List" in IWD:EE, than with Near Infinity/Infinity Explorer (which is not EE compatible)?
I *finally* wanted to put them up together on a complete list, and I don't fully trust in Haeravon's nor DSimpson's FAQs..

[Edit]: OR maybe someone could send me screenshots (PM/on e-mail) of NI version of that list, so I can find out whether it might be helpful or not? I just want to know, where are every single spots of random drops..
"Reloading/checking?" - leave that all to me
"The reason?" - you might ask - making long story short, there is no bloody way to run NI on my gear right now.. seems like casting *Animate Dead* on my computer has no longer any effect :frowning:, and by the "Ressurection part", I would like to start acting..

While @bengoshi, @Gotural, and I were playing our MP game, we were goofing off before saying goodbye for the day when we noticed that our mage would take maximum damage from every single Magic Missile spell cast on him. He appeared to be the only character in the vicinity to have this distinction and we couldn't quite figure out why. I suggested that he may have a negative luck bonus and the others noticed that he was the only one in the group that was fatigued. I have since tried to figure out what the effects of fatigue were but to no avail. There wasn't even anything specific I could find on the IESDP. So my question goes to the IE masters like @CamDawg (whom I am thrilled to see has returned): Does Fatigue apply a negative luck bonus? What are the affects of fatigue?

Edit: @Gotural, @bengoshi, @GemHound, Come to think of it; this happened once with Skull Trap too... Remember when we were in the cloakwood mines with Loki?

Side note to self: When editing a comment that is on the top of the thread's current page make sure not to accidentally edit the OP of said thread...
