I have to admit, a price of 239,99 USD for a Collector's Edition is a bit too much. For that price, a giant miniature space hamster could be included into the pack.
Wait, is that a comma? For that much money, the giant miniature space hamster had better be a darn good cook, and he had better come with a handler who is easy on the eyes.

In American notation that comma should be a period.
In the official announcement n-Space say that Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game will become available late 2015. Maybe now we know the reason of them going for cooldowns and such things...
Has anyone found any useful links or information on character creation or customization? I don't personally know anything about 5th edition and I understand that this is going to be a modified version of that system. Do we know if there will be anywhere near the level of customization of something like BG or NWN?
With NWN there were whole communities happily obsessing about 'Builds' and level progression etc... Anything like that exist yet?
@the_spyder There're no major discussions about such things as character creation or customization, maybe because there's no major information available from the game itself: there's no open beta-testing, to begin with.
You can read these threads if you want to know about the game's classes:
I do hope that they implement a proper animate dead that requires corpses to use. I'm at least relived to know 100% we'll have the Necromancer Wizard specialization thanks to the "Necromancer with a heart of Gold." .
YOU'RE DOING IT RIGHT GUYS! Necromancy doesn't have to be evil! n_n
@bengoshi - Thanks for that information. I will take a look at the links and see what is there.
it is my hope that they aren't skimping on things like character creation and simply not talking about it in the hopes that they sucker people into buying it before someone reviews it. But that could quite simply be me being cynical.
It does worry me a bit though because with both NWN and NWN2, there was LOADS of buzz about characters and character creation by this late date. Even if there isn't any concrete information, I'd still expect rampant speculation. But with nothing, I wonder if that is foreshadowing.
"All in all, it’s looking great! I don’t love the 3D aesthetic quite as much as Pillars of Eternity’s Infinity Engine-esque art, but the game still looks pretty good (at least as good as Wasteland 2 and Divinity: Original Sin) and it plays well. Some of the animations still need more feedback and movement could be a bit more fluid, but overall I have no huge complaints on that front—it played like an isometric CRPG.
It’s almost like the genre never died in the first place. Almost."
"Excited about the prospects of what DM mode could entail, I asked n-Space the extent to which Masters could design stories, questlines, and combat scenarios - could players make their own “Baldur’s Gates”? In talking with n-Space, they stated that, theoretically, players could write stories and quest-lines long enough to comprise the length of an entire game. I asked if other campaign settings were on the cards for future Sword Coast Legends content, and I was told “absolutely” by n-Space."
"Sword Coast Legends wants to bring the true dungeon master experience into the digital realm, and I truly think it’s succeeded. Already in this early form it has all the features you’d want. The direction they’re taking is phenomenal, and it allows for new ways to enjoy D&D, beyond the table and with absolutely everything you’d want."
“For far too long, passionate and dedicated Mac and Linux RPG gamers have been left out in the cold, forced to watch from the sidelines as the industry focused efforts on just a select few platforms. That ends today,” said Dan Tudge, President of n-Space and Director for Sword Coast Legends. “With Sword Coast Legends, we are dedicated to delivering exactly the sort of classic, D&D, RPG gaming experience fans on every platform have been clamoring for. More importantly, we’re committed to providing the community with the largest possible pool of adventurers and prospective Dungeon Masters by ensuring that all gamers can play together regardless of which operating system they use.”
The game is hitting PC, Mac and Linux on September 29th now, not September 8th as previously planned.
“We’re extremely excited to show everyone what we’ve been up to with Sword Coast Legends, but it looks like our dungeon bosses need a few more hit points … Larethar needs even more of a Scottish accent … and the game itself could use a touch ‘more cowbell,” said Dan Tudge.
“All kidding aside, our fans deserve nothing less than whatever it takes on our part to deliver the compelling roleplaying dynamic of Dungeons & Dragons tabletop to the world of cooperative multiplayer video games. If that means the game needs a few additional weeks of balancing, tuning and general polish — so be it.”
I've adopted the philosophy that it will be a mediocre 'Action' style RPG with some limited role playing, but it could still be loads of fun. I am thinking more Diablo and less Neverwinter Nights.
I am prepared to be wrong on that, but that is my expectation going in.
And @FinneousPJ - LOL. When do any RPG games (or indeed most video games of any description) 'Launch in perfect order'? But we live in hope.

I have hope only because it seemed it's been confirmed DM's can create full stories in offline mode without being limited by DM threat. So even if the main campaign sucks there will be that one guy that decides, "You know what would be cool? Let's re-create all of Icewind Dale II in this engine!"
I still need to try the NWN2 version of Icewind Dale and Baldur's Gate eventually.
It looks like it plays a bit like NWN 2 or Neverwinter with a party. Very interesting. I had no idea this was even a thing. I'm very interested in the Dungeon master mode. If I actually had friends that could be a really fun mode to play in me thinks.
Edit: I found some more! This actually looks like a lot of fun! I love the set of tools they have given the DM. The ability to build the environment just ahead of the team and set flavour texts as well as tweak the difficulty of the encounters on the fly. That is just beautiful! It looks like it's been very well thought out and streamlined to be quick and simple to use. Looks quite polished. Love it.

Also i'm not a big fan of multyplayer.
But I do stand-by my above comments of awe at it's awesomeness.
Just for the record.
