"bunch of... argh" *it's as if Anomen has entered some sort of rage at the parties actions and stabs at the snake with his spear*

Minion, roll 1d20 for spear attack

OOC: Wow, Arkanis is better when he can't see his target.

Minion, roll 1d20 for Alora's snake slashing attack

Arrrgh! My eyes! Arkanis waves blindly with his weapon and tries to chop the hideous snake.

Minion, roll 1d20 for blind attack

OOC: lol Arkanis is going to be a blind monk from now on and Anomen is going to be a Barbarian.

Arkanis somehow manages to find and chop at the snake.

    Minion, roll 1d8+3

Snake is turned into Snake hash.

DM is rolling on the floor that Arkanis is better at fighting blind than with his eyesight!

    The snake is dead.

Edwin sniffs. "Fool should stay blind. He may be more useful that way."

OOC: If Anomen is going to be a barbarian he is going to have to use a lot less product on his hair and beard.

Alora will use the bath water to attempt to wash the poison from Arkanis's eyes.

After that she will grab the gold key and search the cabinet thoroughly in case there is anything else she missed the first time.
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
The cabinet is pretty much empty at this point. Flora gets the key.

It takes several dunkings in the water to wash the poison out of Arkanis's eyes (he smells a lot better, too!), His eyes are red, the flesh around them swollen, and while he can see, his vision is cloudy and is going to take a while to recover. Right now, he's a -2 to hit.

"I wonder what the key is for?" muses Alora, "We haven't found anything that was locked have we?"

While she is thinking about this she will take the door to the east and listen and check for traps before opening it.
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
Edwin makes a scornful noise. "The keyhole in the mosaic room!"

He continues on. "idiots, I hope I do not have to do all their thinking for them."

"Edwin you are so clever. I knew you would know. Come on everybody we're going back to the mosaic room to open the lock."

The design on the floor shows the crowned maiden, the man in black armor and the white dragon asleep around a keyhole. All the mosaics look new.

You head back to the mosaic room, and the keyhole begins to glow blue-white as Alora gets close to it. The key fits in the lock. When you turn it, another keyhole comes into existence on the east wall.
  • Permidion_StarkPermidion_Stark Member Posts: 4,861
Alora will try the key in the other keyhole (but she has got a bad feeling she is going to have to find another key)
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
The key fits in the second keyhole as well. You give it another turn, and the mosaics on the walls begin to lift off, turning into a spiral of bright colors that leave the walls, floor, and ceiling white. In the midst of the color swirl, a bright blue-white light appears and expands.

It forms into a long, silvery longsword floating upright in mid-air. The blue-white glow ebbs until it only comes from the blade of the sword. It continues to hang in mid-air.

"That's interesting" Says Arkanis, then pokes the sword's hilt with his weapon.
  • Permidion_StarkPermidion_Stark Member Posts: 4,861
"Gosh, I wasn't expecting that," says Alora. "Do you think it is a good sword or a bad sword? Maybe someone should try to take hold of it."
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
As Arkanis pokes the sword, a man in black armor steps out of the wall and takes the sword in his hand. His black helm has no apparent face underneath it, but you feel it is glaring at your party.

After a moment of silence, the figure raises the sword and attacks.

(Surprise- the party was not expecting this, exactly, so the figure goes first.)

Minion, roll 1d20 for armored figure attack.

    "Edwin, quick, do something magic!"

Tax takes 6 points of damage, slamming the little gnome to the floor. Tax is grievously hurt (1 hp left).

The figure leaves Tiax where he is for the moment, and chops down Edwin with a single hit of his flashing blade.
  • Permidion_StarkPermidion_Stark Member Posts: 4,861
"Edwin! No!!!" Alora is grief stricken.

If Alora can get out of melee range she will use her sling. If that is not possible she will use her short sword.

    "You are mean! Mean! Mean!!!."

Minion, roll 1d20 for Alora's attack on the big meanie.
