OOC: Ok, something tells me that the amulet that we left behind has something to do with this encounter. There are 5 of left. We have 2 potions of speed and 2 potions of invisibility. Aerie Sanc's herself, Minsc and Anomen drink the potions of speed and Arkanis and Alora drink the potions of invisibility. We all retreat to that room and fiddle with the amulet some more. If it doesn't work, the invisible dwarf can attack with our most powerful weapon spear +2 while Aerie magic missiles the sucker. I donno after that.

"I won't leave my comrades on the battleground, take the run if you must!"

Minion, roll 1d20 for Arkanis' bold attack

OOC: While Arkanis is attacking can Anomen grab Tiax and Aerie try to heal Edwin then we can try to make a run for it next round.

You can try whatever you want. :)
  • Permidion_StarkPermidion_Stark Member Posts: 4,861
    OOC: Let's try that then.

Okay. Arkanis faces off against the figure. He misses.

    The figure goes after Arkanis.

Minion, roll 1d20 for figure attack

    Minion, roll 1d8 for damage

Arkanis feels himself shout in pain as the Figure skewers his arm. Blood sprays out on an arc and pain flares up his arm like its suddenly been lit on fire.

But then, something odd happens. The figure fades away, like heat illusion dissipating. The sword, still glowing, falls to the floor with a clatter.

All who have been injured by the figure feel the pain dissipating. They are uninjured. Edwin and Tiax awaken from a sleep-like state. They are also completely uninjured.

All that remains is the sword.

"Tiax! You're alive? Edwin, Arkanis, you're not hurt?"

Alora stands there looking gobsmacked for a bit. Then she pulls herself together and displays her leadership qualities. "Anomen, can you cast Detect Evil on that sword?"

“Of course Tiax is alive! Nothing can stop Tiax!”

Aerie is undoubtedly relieved, but also troubled. "An illusion? Such a beast was only an illusion this whole time?"

"Illusions can be powerful," Edwin said. "Not as powerful as Conjuration, of course, but it primarily affects those with weak minds."

"So you were only pretending to be dead when it hit you? That's really clever Edwin."

"Of course I would not fall for such feeble tricks," Edwin says to himself. "The rest of these simians were not so lucky..."

"So do you think it is safe to pick up the sword? It wasn't the something in the sword that was making the illusion was it?"

"Perhaps Anomen would endeavor to try," Edwin says smoothly. "Yes, the feeble-witted 'knight' is the best one to handle such a task..."

    Objects cannot be evil.

Arkanis walks to the sword, grabs it and examine it closely. He waves it too, to check if the ghost warrior is summoned again.
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
Arkanis grabs the sword. It feels good in his hand. Nothing happens when he waves it around.

OOC If you detect an alignment on an object it's too late to be worried...
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
Actually, objects, like swords, can be evil. Or good. Intelligent weapons are like that.

"Well I guess we won that battle? I'm not sure how but we seem to have come out ahead. High-fives everybody! Well done! It's good that none of us panicked. Right, so lets go back to the towel room and we'll try the door to the east."

Alora heads back to the towel room and steals the dolphin soap again. She then listens at the east door and checks for traps before opening it.

You find yourself back by the white ape. The ape doesn't notice you at first. He looks hungry...
  • lolienlolien Member, Moderator, Translator (NDA) Posts: 3,108
Arkanis collects his shield and weapon, then hurries after the others."Hey Aerie, could you look at this sword and tell if it has any magical properties?
  • Permidion_StarkPermidion_Stark Member Posts: 4,861
Alora doesn't want to get anywhere near the white ape because he seems so angry. But maybe that is jsut because he is chained up? She hates the idea of anyone being hungry so she tosses some chocolate cake to him where he can reach it.
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
The ape grabs the food and bolts it down. it looks much happier and calms down. Now, you can get around the ape to another corridor. There is also a northern offshoot of the cave, but when you looked in there, it appears to lead nowhere.

OOC: going offline for a while. Not feeling well.

The end of the room curls around to the south and east, and heads up 20' of stairs to a door. The door is not locked, and Alora finds no traps. When she opens it, she sees a corridor running south. 20' down the corridor to the east is a door. (on the east side of the hallway). 10' beyond that is a door on the west side of the hallway. The hallway continues to run south. At the limits of your vision, you see more stairs going up.

We will go to the door and Alora will listen and check for traps before opening it.

OOC: Sure. But does Anomen in all his ignorant arrogance know that?
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
    @Permidion_Stark Which door?

    @deltago Maybe not.
