"Why don't we wait until both heads are asleep then I will climb down and try to find the key to the cage and let Culum's dad out?'
OOC: I'm not clear whether the giant can move through all the corridors or whether he is too tall. If we have to run are there any corridors small enough that he couldn't follow?
It looks pretty full right now. There is no one in the "Herbivore Exhibit" Except for the Giant and the figure (man) in the cage. Wonder where all those Herbivores went… ::Whistles innocently::
"If the giant has eaten all the herbivores he is bound to want to sleep eventually. I'll wait until he dozes off them climb down and pick the lock on the cage."
OOC: Sanctuary can only be cast on the priest, afaik. I remember the spell description in BG being like that. Otherwise it would be the equivalent of arcane invisibility, which is 3rd level. I'd be really surprised if Sanctuary can target anyone but the caster.

OOC: In that case I'll just wait until he is sleeping and attempt to sneak past.
OOC: Unless someone has got a better plan Alora is going to attempt to get the two heads to argue with each other. If we just attempt to fight it I don't think many of us will survive.
OOC: while waiting Jan memorized Grease instead of Sleep.
IC: I have a new plan, my friends! I can cast Grease on the area where the giant stands. This way he will be at least encumbered. We should then spread around the area, with one warrior at each group and then attack the giant with ranged weapons! This way he will be confused as to which direction to take and encumbered at the same time. If he manages to get out of the greased area, we can just attack him all together. I also have a Protection from Evil, which should help one of us to deflect the blows of the giant better.
OOC: I thought about splitting the party like that to confuse him, but he's got two heads... That could either make it easier or harder to confuse him. Course, he's only got two arms and two legs, so even if he can keep better track of us with his two heads, he'll only have four potential strikes...
Ah, hell, I say we do it. Also, Jaheira should cast Bless on everyone before we start.
hmm... I think there might be another way. I could cast grease on his club! This will make him loose it and hopefully he will be distracted by it, maybe go away in an attempt to wash the grease off.
Ooc:My ideas so far: We split for two group, one group save Culum's father, while the other - lure the ettin in the big cage (if we can lock the cage) - lock themselves in the cage and wear down the ettin with ranged attacks ( if the cage is big enough for the ettin not reach the group, and the cage entrance is lockable) - lure the ettin to another cave and try to get it lost, or prepare an ambush for it (maybe the room with the piercers?) The grease on the club is nice tactic! I'm play the bait with prot from evil with plesure.
OOC: Remember the balcony is fifteen feet up so just jumping over the edge may not be a great plan. Then again if we try to climb down ropes he'll be able to pick us off one by one.
I think the floating boulder could be another gas spore so we could try to explode it on him. The only problem is that we might kill Culum's dad . . .
-try to make the heads argue with each other -we call bless upon us -I distract it as a bait, protected by evil, while you are attacking it -Jan casts grease on it's club to make it slip and confuse it -If we can't wear it down we lure it to another part of the caverns (for example the floating boulder, and hope for the best), while Alora and Culum let Zando free.
I think we can give it a try." Arkanis waits patiently for Aerie to make the last decision. "Any more suggestion?"
That sounds okay to me. I think the only other thing is that we should make sure one of the heads is asleep when we begin.
How about to start I go onto the balcony and tie a rope there. When the giant asks me what I am doing I will tell him that the other head told me I should let Culum's dad out of the cage so I can take him away and fatten him up so he will be better to eat. If the awake head questions it I will tell him that the sleeping head said he would start asking a lot of dumb questions and said I should just ignore him because he's kind of stupid.
And after that I guess we'll see what happens . . .
Well I said the day I listen to he gnome is the day I die and I am ready to meet that prediction.
I will follow any orders Lady Aerie gives me to the death.
OOC: I'm probably not going to be able to partake in this epic battle, so anything Aerie commands me to do I will do it till death, where upon I haunt the party for making me take tactical advice from a gnome of Jan's stature.
OOC: I'd rather we cast grease on the ground instead of his clubs. A giant without his weapons still has his fists to compensate. Besides, he could always slip on the grease and fall.
There wouldn't happen to be another entrance on the ground floor that we could potentially get to, would there?
OOC We send Boo running. He's much faster than any giant... he then runs through the bars and one of us runs behind lock the giant while he's confused inside the cage... Perfect plan, nothing can go wrong

OOC:At the big cage are there gapes enough for Alora to fit through?
Maybe we should try the other plan and see if we can get the two heads to argue with each other?

OOC reply: You can riddle him or attempt to confuse him somehow.
