Dear Anomen, the difference between male and female might be a tricky one to spot, but I assure you, there is no way a female gnome can grow a beard. Unless it is the famous bearded woman of course, but one would need to go to a circus to see that. In case we shall encounter some monsters later, I suggest you just wait for the spells to go off, before charging into combat. This would be the wise thing to do, no doubt.
"Wisdom is as lacking in that one," Jaheira pointed out to Jan, regarding their cleric, "as in some others, who won't be named at this time." If Khalid thought he was off the hook after a few nice (all right, he was damn near majestic with that sword, dancing through entanglement vines and looking so hot, but that was beside the point; she was determined to be irate with him, period) moves with the rat slayings, he was rather mistaken.
OOC: Does sleep spell slumber regenerate Cleric spells? Bwahaha!
OOC2: So, I check the forum last night. Nothing was on, so I go to bed. Then, kablammo - all of yous guys post like machine guns! Not complaining, though. Happy about it, I am... Jaheira isn't, though - she's cranky.
"Yes, I agree with Jan and Jaheira. Next time we have to fight monsters it would probably be wise for everyone to wait for me to tell them what to do. That way there won't be any mistakes," Alora announces loftily.
Jaheira clamped her jaw so tightly that the muscles could be seen to tense up, as she affixed one of her looks on the Halfling half-wit. "If you think, for one moment, that I answer to you, I mrrmm-mrrm-mrrrm."
...In a rare act of courage, Khalid muffled his bride and moved her out of staff-whacking range of their self-appointed imperious leader. He may have earned a few nail scratches, kicks and bruises in the process...
Listen gnome, the day I take tactical advice from someone of your stature is probably the day I die.
If it wasn't for the half elf there, the big dumb one would have died.
You cannot expect to hold off numerous monsters just with spells. You need a front line established first. This allows spell casters to take their time and AIM there spells properly.
If you were all in the order you would have learned that on day one.

@deltago - I Hate It! Which means you're doing Anomen justice. Well done, sir! Which means horribly done, but in the sense that he is horrible and that you're awesome!
Alora gives Anomen a hard stare. He appears to have totally overlooked her contribution to saving Minsc. He also doesn't appear to have acknowledged that she is the leader of the party.
However, she finds Anomen really rather intimidating, so she thinks better of confronting him directly.
"Someone should tell him I'm the leader of this party," she whispers to Jan. "Because I bagsied it first."

OOC: with all the Anomen hate in his thread already I am just seeing how long it takes anomen to get the DMs version of Ctrl Y.
OOC: do not worry deltago, I am sure everyone likes Anomen in the sense, that everyone likes to hate on him a little bit here and there. Also, you are Jans counterpart RP-wise. All the dumb-ork stories, all the tension, there is a lot we can do with those characters.
*whispers back at Alora* or we could wait. Imagine his face, when he realizes you were the leader all along?
Alora whispers back: "That's an awesome idea. I'll be the secret leader! People won't even know that I'm in charge. Shhh, I think Jaheira might be listening. We don't want her to know, she'll tell the others."
Mates. It's great fun to delve into an unfamiliar dungeon without preparation, rescources and any ask-around, but i hoped that i would have time to sit down, drink an ale and let the road's chill out of my bones.

Aerie had half a mind to say that many of them weren't in any sort of order--in fact, some of them had been tortured and traumatized most of their life before being rescued by the circus--and that such a state of being was not their fault.
But Aerie hates confrontation, and if any of her merry band wanted to have a lick of chance at surviving their impending delve into a dungeon, then they needed to learn to at least get along.

"Ooh, a great idea, Arkanis!" Aerie agreed in an attempt to change the subject to something more light-hearted. "I am rather famished after the long trip here... And I would like the chance to pray for my spells back. You would like that, wouldn't you Minsc?"
"Then don't object," Jaheira snorted, for Anomen was not on her list of friends. For that matter, neither was Khalid; she'd only begun inflicting punishment upon him. Then, again, making up was generally pleasant, but he'd have to earn that accommodation from her. She could, and might, change her mind on that matter, as was her good and proper right, but (for now) Khalid was out in the proverbial cold.
To the others, and definitely not toward Alora (who would think Jaheira was being deferential), or to Anomen (who might think she wished to say anything else to him), she announced, "I agree. We have journeyed long, and would be best served to properly prepare."
OOC: Jaheira is shifting spells. Since we have 3 1st level clerics, she's no where near the sole healer. She'll take:
OOC: Can we share everybody's spell set? Just to coordinate and plan (better than the rat melee chaos; Jaheira will not admit that was uncoordinated, but her temp stand-in hack of an amateur writer might )...
OOC: 2 Cure Light Wounds, 1 Sanctuary, and 1 Sleep. I wasn't planning on changing them, though depending on how many other heals Anomen and Jaheira are packing, I might drop one and go for something else instead.

OOC: I thought Jan has sleep. Do we need two? Just a thought to have something defensive, just in case some baddie gets past Meeensk, or a guaranteed hit (magic missile)? Anyway, I'm hoping Anomen and you will carry most of the healing; Jaheira's more for use in a pinch.
Do you think we'd be better served if Jaheira swaps Doom for Bless (helps everybody)?
OOC: isn't Anomen just a fighter at this point? He is a double class, switched over to a cleric after fighter lvl 5 or something around that.
I dunno! I thought he was a Cleric first, but I'd admittedly poor in my Anomen lore. He's probably fighter first, hence the 18/52 strength. Let me know if I should pack 2 CLW spells - I'm more than happy to support. Jaheira, however, is not
OOC: he was definitely a fighter first, hence his ability to gain all the high-level cleric spells. Couldn't gain all those spells if he would be a lvl5 cleric. Very powerful guy actually, can get a relatively high wisdom after his quest is done the good way and with 5 points in maces and a little buff here and there, Anomen = unstoppable killing machine. Gains all the bonuses a fighter would get with a simple buff and still has a lot of clerical spells, doesn't lack that much in comparison with a cleric that has higher WIS.
Alora feels that her plan of being secretly in charge might be working a bit too well because everyone seems to be ignoring her.
"I just promised this young man that we would find his father. We can't just all sit down and go to sleep," she says. And then she adds in a whisper. "And he doesn't look like he's eaten in ages and you are all talking about how hungry you are. I think we should find his dad first, then have a rest. At least that's what I am going to do."
She then continues to check for traps on the trap door in the hope that she will have shamed the rest of the party into action.

She opens the trapdoor. Light comes up from below. Strange, you've never seen a well-lit dungeon before.
