"M'name is Culum, sir." The boy says. He gulps at the sight of the money. "Gaw, sir! 'Tis a veritable fortune ye be handin' me. You sure you want to give me so much?"

Alora looks down into the dungeon. Does she see any stairs or a way to get down? If there is a way she will enter the dungeon (if that is what it is?)

"I'm going now," she says trying not to sound fearful. "Don't anyone try to stop me."

OOC: I have no idea how much food is... I remember some drinks in BG being worth 5 GP, so I assumed 5 GP might be a days worth of food supply. I just want to give him enough to get one or two loafs of bread

Alora is relieved to find that Aerie has followed her: "I wasn't scared being on my own. But I am glad you are here."

OOC: Thanks @lLadyRhian. Loving the adventure so far!

OOC: OK, I just give him 1 GP. Feeling generous today.

Jan sighs and climbs the trapdoor down to follow Alora and Aerie.

"It's okay everybody," Alora calls back as she goes down the stairs. "This isn't a very dungeony-dungeon. It's really nice. I don't think there can be anything very bad down here. It doesn't look like any monsters live here at all."

But just to be on the safe side Alora searches for traps as she goes.

Jaheira gave Khalid a less than hostile, but also less then friendly, prod with her toe (aimed to hit a gap in his armor). "Come, husband," she commanded, somewhat wryly, for her annoyance with him had yet to abet. She carried her quarterstaff across one shoulder and followed her comrades in the hope that she could prevent their impending doom.

OOC: So we didn't recharge spells? @LadyRhian - I either have 2xCLW, or (if we recharged) 1 ea of Bless, CLW and Entangle

OOC: Guess not. XD Good thing I've got another Sleep stashed away after all.

"I certainly hope so..." Aerie sighed. "For the father's safety as well as ours."

"Culum's dad might just be lost. Maybe we should shout his name and see if he answers?"

"Unless there is something dangerous lurking here, you dolt!" She was trying to contain the foci of her irritation to Anomen and Khalid, but the half-sized self-proclaimed leader was giant-sized in the annoyance category. She'd been right in her presumption that better leadership was in order for this gaggle. Alora's Rescuers, or whatever she called them, indeed! More like Alora's group to keep her from doing something incredibly unwise.

Alora is upset by Jaheira's remark. She takes an exercise book out of her backpack and turns to a page titled 'Enemies of Alora". She writes JARHEERUR at the top, in capital letters.

Then she turns to Aerie and says "Please inform Jaheira that I am not talking to her anymore."

"I..." A blush crept across Aerie's face, unsure what to say that won't offend somebody. "I'm sure she can hear you perfectly fine, Alora."

"I don't care if she can hear me because I am not talking to her. And even if she can hear me she shouldn't be listening because it is none of her business!"
  • NonnahswriterNonnahswriter Member Posts: 2,520
Well that was not the right thing to say. Aerie winced and snuck a glance back at the undoubtedly seething Jaheira. She mouthed a silent apology to the druid, but even so, she knew it probably wouldn't be enough.

Some magic was beyond the horizon of Jaheira's wisdom, and the Silence spell was one such power. Oh, what she would give to be able to cast that on their diminutive dictatress right now! "Then, we need better leadership," she announced, rather rudely. "One who is not put off so easily." Like her, for instance; the others were bound to come to that conclusion in no time!

Yeah, @scriver - you're in for some marital bliss...

ooc: Alora is still raring to go but I am heading to bed. So if you want to rest and memorise your spells probably the best tactic would be to stick her in a sack and get Minsc to sit on her. If you keep exploring she will scout ahead of the party searching for traps. If you come to a door she will check for traps, listen and then pick the lock. If you end up in combat she will try to stay out of melee and use her sling. If you meet a bear she will attempt to befriend it (unless it is Jaheira, in which case she will ignore it).

Yes better leadership is in order.

I wonder which man would be best to lead this rabble? Arkanis might be able to handle the pressure.
  • reedmilfamreedmilfam Member Posts: 2,808
    @deltago - I'm hoping I'm reading you correctly that he's speaking aloud

Jaheira believed -fervently believed- in a concept, best summarized as balance. Even her frustration with Anomen had some balance, for instance, and his statement gave her a stark reminder of this. They might have many differences, but, in this, they were of like mind, at least insofar as the fact that they needed better leadership. A paladin, however, made a poor choice, as they were so completely unbalanced that evil warriors, known as blackguards, had risen to oppose them. Still, he was half-correct, which was a great deal better than all-wrong, so she smirked in a very self-satisfied way.

Soon, all would know what Jaheira had already figured out. Alora would lead them into a mess, and a real leader would, for lack of a better term, lead them out of it. Of this, she was certain...
