    Yet however I have the feeling that you take your own opinion as proof for your assumptions.

    You have the feeling, so it's true? You're juste making assomptions and condemned someone just based on your assomptions. Where is your proof of knowing what are thinking other people? You're just doing what you criticise here...

    For me it feels you do not even want to give the combo breaker badge a try
    because you already have proof of what you say: And that is your own opinion.

    Things can always be given a try, but it's not opinion here, it's called experience.

    A bit of a non sequitur, but has anyone else noticed that our points are listed twice on our profiles?

    Yeap. It's been pointed out in the forum is going nuts thread.

    @Calawen What kind of experience? I would like to know as well. Please share with us.

    I'm more worried about people making multiple account to agree/insightful/like themselves just to get the badge.

    I have to leave this debate now.
    You can still PM me on this matter if you want.

    But whatever actual positive effect the combo breaker badge COULD be worth, it is
    not worth what is happening right now in this thread.

    I apologize to anyone whom I offended.

    I'll be honest, I skipped the last 50 comments, do I have to actually read them?

    What would be the point of going to all that trouble just to get a few badges? BG:EE forum prestige?

    Perhaps I underestimate people's potential for lameness.

    @Mortianna

    I've already had to ban multiple accounts for similar stuff.

    @Tanthalas

    Forum badge fraud. Sad. {~.^}

    That has been my main source of worry from begginning when I learned about the combo breaker badge. That trophy hunters would spam the forum trying to get it.

    Now that Thantalas said that he had to banish people for creating multiple accounts trying to get the agree/insightful/like banners I really doubt the wisdom of allowing this badge to stay.
  • VirsalusVirsalus Member Posts: 45
    @mlnevese He said for similar stuff. Let's not jump to conclusions. The next question would be how often this happens. We still have no assessment of the damage this actually causes.

    Anyone know why there is a delay on getting badges? Does the website only run checks every so often? Noticed I had my 101st post an hour or so ago but no updates. No biggie.

    Edit-sorry my bad i was looking at posts and not comments. I didnt realise they were different.

    @ginger_hammer It just takes a little bit of time.

    Two new badges.

    1,000,000 Views and Hyper Chicken (admittedly, I did laugh, shame on me).
  • CalawenCalawen Member Posts: 707
    How can the chicken be obtained ? XD
  • Troodon80Troodon80 Member, Developer Posts: 4,110
    @Calawen, I am going to assume that it's one of those badges that the administrators can only give to particular individuals of their choice.
  • mlnevesemlnevese Member, Moderator Posts: 10,214
    We could ask @ajwz why he got one :)
  • BalquoBalquo Member, Developer Posts: 2,746
    It was the title to one of his bug reports - The devs rather enjoyed it it seems :D
  • ajwzajwz Member Posts: 4,122
    Don't laugh
  • CalawenCalawen Member Posts: 707
    too late... XD

    Any chance of more badges that mere mortals can obtain?

    Yep, the badge thing is a fluid process. The 1,000,000 view badge, for instance, is obtainable by anyone who makes a sufficiently popular thread - and we'll be looking at creating others that will encourage people to do awesome things within the community. =)

    edit: also, the first rule about Hyper Chicken is you don't laugh about Hyper Chicken. The second rule is to not talk about it.

    @Nathan So, it's like Fight Club... Never mind, don't answer that- you'd be breaking the first rule.

    Haha hyper chi....oh wait :-)
  • mlnevesemlnevese Member, Moderator Posts: 10,214
    I can't find the thread that originated the badge. Does someone have a link? Now I'm curious :)
  • CorianderCoriander Member Posts: 1,667
    It's in a secret place. Maybe some day we'll let you know what happened, but until then it remains a mystery.
