OOC:...I just read this in another threat:::Yoshimo is the brother or cousin of Tamoko and is seeking her revenge albeit under a geas.::: Yo bro, whaddya know.
Minsc will keep Xan company and cheer him up. Aside from Xan's paltry physique and unhealthy demeanor, I'm sure Minsc can think of something to say that will motivate him. "You are small and unarmored, which..." Pausing, he ponders what nice thing he can say. "Which is something. Right, Boo?"
I find the rocking of this ship quite comforting, I'm pleased to be out of Waterdeep so quickly. The nerve of the captain to try and place me down in depths of ship with the cattle. Thankfully a fine lady needing consoling was available, and soon a warm bed was found. It could be weeks till the ship docks again, and so many women to get to know, properly. Women of high standing such as Lady ... whatever her name is. Ahh there she is, stirring in bed now. With her hair mussed like that, I doubt she'll miss any of those gems previously netted in. To think I remind her of her dead son, well his jacket does fit well; a bit creepy she keeps so many mementos of his around. If my destination ends up being as fruitful as the trip... ahh to dream. Lady Silvershield, sounds like a magnificent mark if ever there was one, I look forward to draining her family, gives me a thrill. Ohh, my current lady stirs, I wonder if she'd like a walk on the deck.
Yes, indeed! Okay, so here's the recap: Everyone except Mazzy got frightened by a scream coming up the stairs and fled. Mazzy decided to investigate, found the wine cellar, and a body. She searched the body with Yoshimo, but was attacked by rot grubs, and had to burn herself to kill one of them.
And evil was faced upstairs! Bootprints on backsides are issued in liberal measure. And Minsc keeps missing with the first attack - still, the swings are mighty!
OOC Boo to the leaky roof! And Yoshimo is Tamoko's brother?!? Seriously?? How would Irenicus have known about him, much less have dragged him into the whole Bhaalspawn saga? I guess he'd be seeking revenge for her death, but then why does he sound so sad if you call him out in Spellhold?
@LadyRhian I think so, too. Now I'm not sure if the liking grew post-geas or if he never really wanted to avenge his sister in the first place. Enh. When BG2:EE comes out, I'll hope more of Yoshimo's dialogues pop, and this time I'll pay more attention.
Right, so, which way do people want to go? There were suggestions of pretty much everything, from burning the corpse and poking around the basement to picking another direction or going upstairs.
OOC: Can I prepare different spells every time we rest, @LadyRhian? I probably won't this time, just checking for future reference. IC: "I suppose a thorough examination of the basement and ground floor is in order. Being trapped on the upper floors of this decrepit building is not a particularly pleasant thought."
Let's clear the ground floor and then go upstairs. That way, if we have to come back down here, we'll at least have the reassurance of knowing nothing horrible is going to ambush us from behind.

"What was your first clue?"
