*Kivan takes the other documents. Perhaps there is information about who the last owner of the house was. Or maybe the deed of the land and house is in there. Maybe there's also a floor plan of the house.*
"Hey, hey, wait a minute..." Alora says. She pushes aside the chest and touches the wooden floor, opening a hidden hollow. Inside is a cracked leather bag. She opens it, and four small sparkling stones fall out into her hand. "Sparklies!" she exclaims happily.
Alora is here! She thinks if Edwin can's make sense of the scroll it probably isn't much use. Because Edwin is as clever as Elminster. Probably cleverer.
The next room is neither locked nor trapped. This room appears to have been used for storage. A large oak chest stands under the east-facing window, its lid closed. Elsewhere in the room are three wooden chairs, all broken, two splintered wooden buckets, and a moldy sack. Just inside the door is what looks to be a bundle of clothes, clean and rather neatly folded, with no dust on it. It appears to have been put there fairly recently.
I'll check the chest for traps and see if it is locked. If it is unlocked I will stand to the side to open it so I can see if anything is going to jump out.

"An interesting find, well done. If you wish I shall hold them for you."
"My thoughts exactly."
"Of course, but do check for traps first, it would bereave me to see you harmed."
