*Kivan takes the other documents. Perhaps there is information about who the last owner of the house was. Or maybe the deed of the land and house is in there. Maybe there's also a floor plan of the house.*

"Alora my dear, if you would be so kind as to check the next door for traps."

"Hey, hey, wait a minute..." Alora says. She pushes aside the chest and touches the wooden floor, opening a hidden hollow. Inside is a cracked leather bag. She opens it, and four small sparkling stones fall out into her hand. "Sparklies!" she exclaims happily.

Alora is here! She thinks if Edwin can's make sense of the scroll it probably isn't much use. Because Edwin is as clever as Elminster. Probably cleverer.

Kivan snorts out a laugh at that comment.

(Tiny diamonds worth 25 gp each).

Edwin leans forward to examine the stones.

I've found diamonds! Lots of them!

We're rich. Let's have a slap up tea with lashings of ginger beer!

Edwin steeples his fingers and looks deep in thought for a moment.

"An interesting find, well done. If you wish I shall hold them for you."

That's a good idea. You keep them safe Edwin so I won't lose them.

Edwin smiles and nods to Alora.

    "My thoughts exactly."

Let's go look in the next room! Can I look in the next room Edwin? Can I?
  • DelvarianDelvarian Member Posts: 1,232
Edwin pats Alora on the shoulder in a fatherly fashion.

"Of course, but do check for traps first, it would bereave me to see you harmed."

The next room is neither locked nor trapped. This room appears to have been used for storage. A large oak chest stands under the east-facing window, its lid closed. Elsewhere in the room are three wooden chairs, all broken, two splintered wooden buckets, and a moldy sack. Just inside the door is what looks to be a bundle of clothes, clean and rather neatly folded, with no dust on it. It appears to have been put there fairly recently.

Are the clothes for a man or woman?
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
A man. Or a woman who dresses like one.
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
As you shake out the clothes to check them, a heavy pouch falls out.

    Is Shar-Teel naked again?

    I'll hop skip to it.

I'll check the chest for traps and see if it is locked. If it is unlocked I will stand to the side to open it so I can see if anything is going to jump out.

    *Checks out the pouch.*
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
The chest is unlocked and empty. The pouch has 11 gp in it.
  • Permidion_StarkPermidion_Stark Member Posts: 4,861
I'm going to check the moldy sack. I won't touch it. I will put my hankie over my mouth and nose and poke it with my sword.
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
It sort of flops over onto its side. Whatever is in it isn't hard or brittle. Cloth, maybe?
  • DelvarianDelvarian Member Posts: 1,232
Edwin will watch from the door unless he sees something of inteterest that requires his vast knowledge and intelect.
  • Awong124Awong124 Member Posts: 2,642
    Or more rot grubs.
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
From the doorway, you can see into the open area in the back of the house, you see a set of stairs leading down, and a hole in the ceiling.
  • Permidion_StarkPermidion_Stark Member Posts: 4,861
I'll tie my hankie over my mouth and nose and go over and very slowly open the sack.
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
Inside is clothing, all threadbare and rotted.
  • DelvarianDelvarian Member Posts: 1,232
"As I surmised, nothing of interest in this room. Let us continue down the corridor."
