DM Oopsie. Imoen and Alora are 3rd level, not 2nd. Alora has 17 hp, Imoen has 23.

Any possibility of a GreatSword, +1 or a Master Work Great Sword? Aside from that, Minsc already has a helmet, short sword and dagger. I think he'll add a long sword (in keeping with swords for everyone!) and sell his original armor (think it was chain). If there is enough for a healing potion (after +1GS above), he'll want one.

And his mathematical skills are poor, so he'll probably be taken advantage of by shopkeep unless Alora/Imoen show goodness and remind the shopkeep that it's probably unwise to overly anger one who is so huge.

"Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, watch it! I'm HUGE!"

Masterwork wha--? This isn't third edition, young'un! ;) A +1 Two Handed sword is 1000 gp.

I never remember what edition had what. My guess is a +2 is too much to ask for, if they even had such an animal. Is there a helm of infravision? That would be a nice thing to add in a real setting where being without infra is bad.

All right a field plate and shield to me if I have the money, and at least one healing potion :)

IWD based on 2E rules had "High Quality" weapons that were essentially the same as "Masterwork" weapons in 3E, +1 to THAC0.

what can be found of magical quality? If I remember right this is just a small little town in a swamp? Well Brawen will be looking for Splint mail (if they have magical, and she can afford it, great!) also a few more slingstones, and some potions if she has gold left over.

And yes, Imoen will be more than happy to help barter for items. :)

Third level? Then please double the thief scores I gave you, which'd make 30 in climb, 30 in find/remove traps, and 60 in open locks. My next dungeon shall be Fort Knox. :)

So has Xan successfully memorised all the spells that we found in the various spell books and scrolls on the way? Excluding the ones he can't because of opposition schools, of course. Also hooray! Xan is no longer likely to be dropped by a kitten. No, it will take a full-blown housecat to kill him now!

Not very lawful... count me in ;)
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
@Jhart1018 No, you get 30 per level, so I was correct in that, just not the hit points.
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
@Comunard Yes. If you want me to roll for them I will.
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
You memorized everything but Find Familliar and Wall of Fog.
  • CommunardCommunard Member Posts: 556
@LadyRhian I think it would be fun to have an element of random chance in my spell selection. Oh, another question, can I find any mage gear in this small town, scrolls and so forth?
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
(If you just want to cast Find Familliar, we can do that, too.)
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
Well, the hedge-witch (wizardess) in town has a few spells. Sleep, Friends, Spook, and Spider Climb that she will let you copy for 200 gp each.

I had completely forgotten about familiars! Probably because it doesn't appear in a game Xan is in. Let's see, from his alignment he would get a...ferret? Hm. Doesn't seem very Xan-like, but I suppose it could work. I think it would be fun RPing the two of them talking.

Xan is not a good candidate to have a familiar. He already has sickly low CON. If his familiar dies, he loses another point permanently.

On the other hand he needs all the bonus HP he can get and will try and keep his familiar safe and out of combat (well, relatively safe of course, after all we are all doomed)

@Communard Actually, you roll dice. I rolled for you and got... a special familliar. A Brownie. And it fails its save. It pumps your dex up to 18, you get +2 to all saving throws and are never surprised. I have to roll its hit points...

Make it an extra optimistic Brownie, it would be perfect for Xan :)

Oh, sweet! (Uh, I mean...our deaths are inevitable)

Xan is definitely buying some milk in town in that case. I'm not sure exactly how the spell is fluffed, but isn't it a bit, uh, unethical for me to enslave a member of a sentient race like this?

Also @mlnevese I was just thinking that making her super cheery would be a perfect foil for Xan!
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
He gives you an extra 3 hp, and has spells he can use on your behalf. And it's not really enslavement. This guy wants to work with you (actually, you aren't sure it's a he). The Brownie has long brown hair and surprisingly brilliant blue eyes. No facial hair. It wears clothing of green and brown linen interwoven with little golden threads.

    @Communard A mini-Alora!

This is what brownies look like in Kingdoms of Amalur:

Well they are described as being distantly related to halflings...
