Branwen takes a step back, with a slightly disgusted look. That would not have been an honorable way to go. She glances up at the ceiling, trying to determn where the slime might have gone, but isn't willing to move from behind the sneaky halfling or Minsc.
No, it's not animate, but it's the kind of slime that turns you into it, if it lands on you. And it's all over the ceiling, now that you have looked up.
"It would be no grave dishonor if we were to leave and return, again, with bigger swords," Minsc observed. He did not know this enemy and wasn't sure that normal weapons could defeat it.
Away from the green slime, definitely. Did the other passage go east? If so, I suggest that way. Imoen will look all around (including up) for threats, traps, slime, irate bats, and anything else.
"I can't help but to agree." Branwen said, agreeing with the large warrior. She glanced over at the other passage, staying back until there has been an okay that all things where clear.
Okay, to the east, there is another corridor leading south, and the corridor continues east, where it ends and another natural corridor runs south and east. The corridor to the south leads to another uninteresting cavern between 25' and 30' in diameter, which leads to a western corridor that loops around to the slime cave (as Imoen discovers).
The south-eastern corridor turns east and splits, with one section going north and east, the other turning more south, and yet still heading easterly. This corridor, however, is lit by torches held to the walls with crude iron holders. They are just starting to rust and have apparently been here for some time.
OOC I'd rather check the non-lit passage first, simply because I always save the obvious path until last, but, whatever the rest of you decide is fine with me.
The corridor is mostly about 10' across, though it narrows to 5' to 6' in places. it also slopes downwards, and you can smell a salty tang in the air. Rough matting has been laid on the floor to provide better footing on the slippery-wet rock. Two small casks have been abandoned on the ground roughly 3' apart here. After making a turn, the passage opens out into a small, natural cavern approximately 12' by 15' across. On a piece of the same coarse matting are three bolts of silk and five casks.
I'll keep sneaking down and stopping to listen for voices. If I see bad guys I will try to hide in the shadows unless they have seen me in which case I will run back to the others.
The eastern corridor ends in a sea cave. The tide is currently out, leaving most of it high and dry, but there is an obvious high water mark that leads to within 3' of the mouth of the corridor. Pulled up onto the sloping cave floor is a small boat, perhaps large enough for eight people, with three sets of oars, a step-down mast and a neatly furled sail. A rope tied to the bow has been weighted down by a large boulder which serves as an anchor. There is no one else here.
Or use the boat to make a quick exit after we're done looting th... I mean, exterminating the baddies who've taken up residence. I'm not distracted by shiny things. I'm really not...

I don't think haflings have good sea legs. I think I'd rather stick to the land and run for it rather than row for it if we get caught.

I did suggest just leaving and burning the house down.
Okay so shall we try the same routine down the unlit corridor. Imoen and I will sneak down and see if we can find any bad guys. We will look out for low-hanging slimes as we go.
After a few moment, and rounding a bend in the corridor, you come on another well-lit, empty cavern, about 30' by 20' at its widest point. On one side, five bolts of silk are resting on another piece of coarse matting. On the other side, to the south, eight casks stand on their sides on the stone floor. There are no further places to explore. Yay!
