Darn. Ah, well, it was worth a shot. I'm grateful for extra skill points and extra hit points. I'm not really picky that way. :)

@Myval Splint Mail +1 is 1500gp, and a mace +1 will set you back another 800.
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
@ReedMilfam No, no helms of Infravision. A Ring will set you back 500.

Is there leather +1 or studded leather +1?

@LadyRhian Xan will attempt to copy Friends, Spook and Spider climb from the witch and will re-buy each once before giving up if he fails. He'll also buy 2 potions of extra healing.

@Jhart1018 They have some black leather +1 for 1600 gp. You could afford a potion of extra-healing on top of that...
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
@Communard You spend 1000 gold learning those three spells. Plus 100 gold for the herbs needed to cast Find Familliar. You have 1700 gp left. For 900gp, the witch offers a set of Bracers of AC8, which would bring your AC down to 4, and you'd still have enough left for the potion of extra healing or 2 potions of healing.

I'll get the bracers and the two potions of healing. Even with my boosted HP I'm not exactly Rocky. Will it be too tiresome to roll for all the spells I copied during the adventure and if so should I just assume I succeeded? Also, is the witch interested in paying to copy spells from my own spellbook and those that I found?

She looks over the spells you have found, and asks to try the Wall of Fog spell. She has a spell she almost never uses (because it can kill someone) called Shocking Grasp (does 1d8 plus level in damage, must touch the target or something that can conduct electricity to their body). She almost never uses it. She asks if you think this is an all right trade?

Woot! Black leather +1 for me, and the potion of extra healing.

I feel so stylish. Good thing I'm also wearing my sassy panties today. :)

I still keep wall of fog in my book right? If so then definitely agree. If not then I'll try and bargain with her for a better deal and if she won't bend I'll refuse the trade. Getting close enough to touch an enemy is bad news for Xan in almost all circumstances ;P

Okay, now I just need to hear from @Permidion_Stark, and we're good to go.
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
@Communard Yes, you still keep it in the original spellbook.

OK, I copy shocking grasp and if I succeed then I buy 10 pig's bladders and fill them almost to bursting with water before sealing them off and storing them (carefully) in my pack. Can I buy a leather bag to store my scrolls and books in so as to not risk them in case one bursts, as well?

Okay. :) Keep in mind anyone wearing metal armor or a metal weapon (mostly metal, not spears or arrows) is also touching a electricity conductor...

Eh, touching a wet patch of ground next to someone sounds a lot better than touching someone's sword or armour :p

Or drenching them in water. :)

Okay, I must go for a bit. Reading these board makes me want to play SO BADLY and I don't have a copy of BG that works on my current computer. :P

    @LadyRhian Ditto and ditto. :)

@ladyrhian - cannot install mine either. Could buy from GOG but don't wanna. You did see my purchase wish list, right? Helm of Infra would be wonderful for the dark, right Boo?

I have the GOG version and am playing a BGT game currently. Her problem is that the Mac version is PPC only and won't run in modern Intel processor Macs. I also have a Mac, but I have a Windows partition basically for games.

I still have the original BG with the 5 cds and it runs perfectly fine on Windows 7.

I just tried doing the solo no death challenge yesterday and ended my run when I got killed by Tarnesh outside the Friendly Arm Inn... :-(

I'm going to give the herbs I got off Eldoth to Xan's new familiar.

I made a hash brownie. Tee hee.
  • Permidion_StarkPermidion_Stark Member Posts: 4,861
I'll put 30 points in climb walls (what a waste!) and 30 points in find traps.

If there is anymore +1 leather armour I will buy that (do they have it in any other colours than black? Maybe pink or powder blue?) and a potion of extra healing if there are any left.

If there is no more armour are there any nice boots or gloves to be had?

I will also buy a grappling hook and spend the next three days practice throwing it up the side of buildings.
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
Yeah, they have it in brown. You know the usual color of Leather. Same price. Minsc is looking longingly at a Ring of Infravision, but he doesn't have the money for it. And nobody bought a Potion of Extra Healing, which is a lovely deep violet color and smells like berries.
  • Permidion_StarkPermidion_Stark Member Posts: 4,861
I will sell my lucky necklace if it will help Minsc buy a Ring of Infravision.
  • reedmilfamreedmilfam Member Posts: 2,808
Minsc will pay twice the money received from lucky necklace to buy it back for mini spider wall climbing hero, after applying boot to butt of evil. That is sufficiently heroical!

I wasn't actually looking at a magical mace XD Though I'm curious does Branwen get her special abilities from BG? (the spiritual hammer?) Though I'd gladly take the splint-mail. Also I've been playing BG recently, which is why I hopped in as Branwen and not my other choices XD Aaand the group needed a Cleric.

ooc: Can't wait to see more of Xan's brownie. Also hopefully get to play again in Ravenloft. Eww spooky
