OC: Sry, been busy working on mah business the last few days so I haven't been checking as regularly as I have been. I'll change that now that I know LadyRhian is feeling better!

IC: "What has happened here? How did I get here? I was training my squire only moments ago and suddenly I appeared here. Hmmm...it seems there was some grave conflict here. Tis a shame I had little time to prepare proper gear, this not appear to be a place to be lightly taken."

*Looks at Minsc as Keldorn dons the +3 Plate mail, +3 Shield, one of the +2 swords, the talisman of pure good, the perihapt of health and the potion of superheroism - recognizing it as being similar to the potions kept in the storeroom of the Radiant Heart.*

You warrior, may I ask what transpired here? While we are at it, whom are the rest of you and how did you come to be here? There is certainly some magic involved

#CrevsDaak That is 2, count 'em 2 Arrows. That was all that was left from Skie's arrow shooting.
  • CrevsDaakCrevsDaak Member Posts: 7,155
@LadyRhian bad luck, well, I'll be limited to my Dagger, and you forgot to mark the Protection from Undead scroll and I'll take the Scarab of Protection too.
Any arrows found will be for ME! If no one else uses a Bow, :P

Alora will take the Luckstone (to take the place of her Lucky Rabbit's Foot, which she rather unluckily has lost)); she will take the Sling of Seeking +2; the Sword +1 Luckblade (Alora is all about being lucky); she'd like the Ring of Protection +6 but is worried about looking greedy so she will put it on pretending she doesn't know what it is and start whistling in an ignore-me-I'm-not-doing-anything-kind-of-way. Finally she will take one of the Ropes of Climbing.

Edit: Alora has also got the Robe of Blending (handed to her by Quayle - see below)

    @LadyRhian

I've based Alora's thief skills on the numbers you gave way back at the start of Tomb of Horrors. Her skills now are:

    Pick Pockets 35%
    Open Locks 80%
    Find/Remove Traps 100%
    Move Silently 50%
    Hide in Shadows 60%
    Detect Noise 20%
    Climb Walls 90%
    Read Languages -5%

I'm not sure how many weapon proficiencies she gets but she will choose Slings and Short Swords to start.

Minsc shivers from the cold unnatural breeze that constantly makes it's way through the dead chambers of this forgotten castle. He then reaches towards the pile of equipment and pulls forth a warm cloak lined with sheep's wool and embroidered with red dyed leather. (cloak of protection +3)
OOC I breezed through the comments in kind of a hurry did anyone take this item yet?
  • lockmundlockmund Member Posts: 354
@Fenris I don't think so, but you might have trouble using that with your plate.

@permidion_Stark No armor? But then, that might collide with your ring in just the same way as above.

Quayle picks up a Mace +3 from the floor, and gives it a swing. He gives a nod.

He then walks over to the pile of loot, and selects a Shield +3, Pearl of Wisdom, Ring of Fire Resistance, Ring of Elemental Command (Air), Cloak of Protection +2, Staff of Curing, Necklace of Missiles, Scrolls of Charm Person, Otiluke's Resilient Sphere, Drawn on Holy Might, Heal, Cure Light Wounds, Aid, & Raise Dead, the Bracers of Defense AC7, and also Scale Mail +1. He equips all but the scale mail.

He also passes the Robe of Blending to Alora, and studies the Robe of useful items. He then wanders over to Keldorn, and says, 'boy are you lucky I'm here to advise you. A +2 sword's OK, but over there there's one that glows too, not to mention those ones with pictures of giants, dragons, or werewolves on them. I plan to stand behind you, so it would be good if you could not die too quickly yes?'

He pats Keldorn on the arm, and walks over to Minsc. 'So, stop mucking about, where's the good stuff?' he says. He rolls his eyes at Minsc's confused look, then grabs his hand and looks at the two holy symbols therein. Right. I'll have that, he says, grabbing the Icon of Ravenloft, Baravar help us, I seem to be the only cleric here, and the best spell I can cast is chant. With this, I should be able to turn ... ok nobody piss of anything more scary than a shadow.

What happened to the elephant summoning thing, and the ring of regeneration?

Who can use the scrolls of restoration? Anyone? Clerics, paladins & druids? Only Clerics & paladins?

Alora thanks Quayle for the Robe of Blending and starts practising looking like a much taller girl, with smaller, less hairy feet.
  • The_Potty_1The_Potty_1 Member Posts: 436
@permidion_Stark I think you're allowed to 'find' unenchanted studded leather armor.

Is Quayle allowed to 'find' a set of unenchanted full plate? :p

Anyway, Quayle would like to memorise 2x protection from evil, mirror image, 2x doom, & Draw Upon Holy Might. If he is allowed summon familiar, swap a PfE for this.

@permidion_Stark I think you're allowed to 'find' unenchanted studded leather armor.

I assumed I was already wearing non-magical armour and have got basic equipment like sling stones, a lantern and the like.

Quayle equips a non-magical sling and bullets, then wanders off to admire Alora's lantern. Also Alora's small hairy feet.
  • Permidion_StarkPermidion_Stark Member Posts: 4,861
Alora is uncomfortable at having her feet and lantern admired by Quayle and so uses her Robe of Blending to make herself look like Tiax.

Kivan appears in the room completely naked, due to the fact that he was spending some quality time in a brothel immediately before being teleported. Fortunately, the mystical nature of the teleportation magic also transported his clothes in a pile next to him.

"Wha-? Where am I now? Damn it, I paid good coin for that prostitute. What a waste of two coppers... Oh great, it's the crazy bald guy and the annoying little midget again," says Kivan as he catches sight of Minsc and Alora.

"Hey, short stuff, where are we?" Kivan directs his question at Alora, hands on his hips, still naked.

OOC: Btw, who is the unconscious woman? Is it Gertrude?

Well, I wanna hav' some non-magical arrows :D Just because, well, we need arrows, and I'm no forntliner.
My thieving abilities, well, I'll left that to @LadyRhian for her to tell me how many points I can spend and which values my base abilities are.
Proficiencies on Dagger ( or it was Small Swords?) and in Short Bow ( or it was Bow?), and, in Quarterstaff.
    And, I'll take that Staff+2 :D

    OOC:
    Imoen's treasure:
    -Scarab of Protection.
    -Protection from Undead (scroll).
    -Dagger+2,+3 against bigger than Mankind.
    -Studded Leather Armor+1.
-2 Arrows +2 (yes, only two).
    -Ring of Invisibility.
    -Ring of Water Walking.
-Wand of Magic Missiles (80 Charges).
    -Bow +1.
    -Potion of Polymorph Self.
    -Cloak of Elvenkind.
-Some normal arrows, preferably a stack of 77.

Level 6, Thief, HP should be 48 of we got Max Hit Points each level.

Really Kivan? You should hurry up and get dressed.

OOC: @Awong124 I think it was a (joke) reference to Jaheira, but she can't use sword (she can use scimitars, not swords :D) and, wasn't Jaheira Brown-haired? Maybe it is a spy! Watch out!

If I am correct that is the last weapon that Xan and Faldorn can use. I think you need to give up either the dagger or the staff @CrevsDaak. I will donate my +1/+2 dagger to Xan. (Jaheira refuses to equip Faldorn). Instead she will take a ring of fire protection.

Jaheira will memorize 4 Cure light wounds and a flame blade just in case. Unless you find it too cheesy, I will
optimize her skill points. Spears **, Scimitar *, Two-handed weapon style **

Jaheira turns to Faldorn "Ugh, I see that you came along for the ride shadowed one. And what in the name of sanity have you got on your head. Is that hair? It's a blight on the landscape. Better to have let it grow wild!"

occ Jaheira with a doctor Who reference. I'm proud!

I'm also pretty sure that the unconscious woman is Irene. We tend to forget that she is along for the ride.

Gertrude seems to have disappeared in any case.

Edit: I meant Irina. Who was Gertrude?
  • lockmundlockmund Member Posts: 354
Gertrude was the daughter of a woman in the village. Keldorn had her doll.
  • CrevsDaakCrevsDaak Member Posts: 7,155
Well, who's Faldorn? and where is she? but well, I will donate the Staff+2 for, mmmmm, for a, for nothing cuz' I'm Chaotic Good. Thanks @lockmund for telling me to do so.

The dark-haired woman is Irina Kolyana, daughter of the Burgomeister of Barovia. Xan has his moonblade, but also his 8 con.

And… me go bed for a while. I have had an excruciatingly bad day. I ran over something in the road, which blew my donut, and I don't have the money to get it fixed right now (not until next week). My Dad's court-appointed guardian is being a total tool to me, and I am completely exhausted, and have to call the nursing home to explain why I won't be able to come see my Dad tomorrow after I promised him I would. And I have to find some way to get to work on Friday and Saturday, and then home again. :P

Quayle stops and observes Alora, who has put the Robe of Blending over her head, and says 'I'm Tiax I am, whoo'. He shakes his head and sighs. I'm not sure you understand quite how that thing works.

However he is quickly distracted by the arrival of Kivan. Excellent, another meat shield, he thinks. Although he may want to shield his meat, around here it's liable to be level drained.

Alora hears Kivan's voice and turns round. And when she sees what is in her eye line she again finds herself wishing she was taller. "We're in a castle belonging to a vampire who plays on his organ. And if you see a rope hanging from the ceiling you mustn't pull it." she explains so that Kivan will know exactly what is going on.

Alora then goes back to experimenting with her Robe of Blending and attempts to make herself look like Strahd.

Kivan gets dressed, then equips his armor and items.

"Vampire huh? Any sexy female vampires? You know, the ones in the tight skimpy outfits with their breasts barely contained?"
  • Permidion_StarkPermidion_Stark Member Posts: 4,861
@CrevsDaak to save @LadyRhian a bit of work I have looked up Imoen's thieving skills from the Tomb of Horrors thread. Your base skills are: Pick Pockets 25%, Open Locks 25%, Find/Remove Traps 10%, Move Silently 20%, Hide in Shadows 15%, Detect Noise 15%, Climb Walls 60% and Read Languages 0%.

At first level you get 60 points to put in your skills and each level after that you get thirty points. You cannot put more than half your skill points into one skill per level. (For example, at first level you can't put more than 30 additional skill points into Pick Pockets. So the highest you could get in that skill at first level would be 55%. At second and subsequent levels you can put a maximum of 15 additional skill points into each skill).

Alora gives Kivan a hard stare. And puts his name at the top of her list ...

occ Isn't the wand of wonder something for Alora. I can see her take aim at Stradh and say "Do you feel lucky?".
