Pick my next Bhaalspawn's class (no clockbait 100% real no faek)

CrevsDaakCrevsDaak Member Posts: 7,155
I'll eventually play them all (most votes to least votes to weirdest specific suggestions) but I don't know which to one to play right now. Build suggestions are welcome as well. Just pick the one you'd like to see me dying to Tarnesh struggle to remain alive playing the saga with (and documenting in the no-reload thread)!

    I dont think I can keep myself from suggesting Wild Mage whenever a no reload run is mentioned.

    I don't think two of those are allowed...

    Anyway, wizard slayer/ cleric.

    Wizard Slayer/Transmuter is doable with the multikit mod, and Wild Mages can dual on my install.

    The Wizard Slayer kit will make BG1 and BG2 a breeze, but the Transmuter kit will be crippling in ToB. Sounds interesting to me.

    Such a weird combo cannot be ignored. Do it! :)

    Solo or party?

    You could play as a commoner. 9 in all stats, no proficiencies. ;)

    ... @semiticgod , I'm kind of curious as to how Wizard Slayer is easy-mode in BG1. WS disallows Potions of Freedom, making Hold Person 100% terrifying until Spider's Bane. And it disallows the Greenstone Amulet, so Charm is even worse. And no Protection from Magic for Davaeorn. Unless, of course, you're playing with a party and you're just using the Wizard Slayer as an archer for disruption, in which case I feel a bit silly.

    Build suggestion for Wild Mage/Fighter: dual at level 2, and eventually use those for Reckless Dweomer's to cast all those 9th level spells and hope for the best! (Worst idea for a no-reload ever. I might do this myself. :tongue: )

    Wild Mage->Fighter. Dual at 9 to minimise your hit points. Specialise in clubs, crossbows and short swords. Oh, and Chaos Shield is for dweeps.

    Solo. My BG1 install sucks for parties (it sucks for solo as well but once you get going it's manageable).

    You can get Edvantar's Gift from Dushai. And you can use green scolls as a WS. It's not easy, that is true, but it's still a Warrior class in BG1.

    Actually, that's exactly what I am going to do and had planned since I got the idea of a character that started training as a Mage, but then realised she sucked at magic and picked up a sword.

    I don't think I could manage to do that with anything else than a Sorcerer tbh (btw I'm not playing a Sorcerer without SR, and my SR install is a bit lacklustre so no Sorcerers until I get a new BGT install with SR).

    Pure fighter, the most exotic of choices

    My first character was actually a pure fighter... I usually play a fighter the first time I play a computer RPG. For some reason I don't stick to that rule when playing a pen & paper game... Don't ask me why, I have no idea...

    Solo. Then beastmaster has great progression imo.

    Btw. Any class will be fine with all nines. Just means you need to really use all those potions and items you hoard.

    Alchemist. Because there is a huge lack of no-reload runs with fan-made kits out there. And one shouldn't go down without a holy hand grenade's bang.

    Specialist mage dualed Thief. Maybe an enchanter or illusionist?

    I don't think it'll be anything near as difficult as the other suggestions but would still be entertaining to see how far it'll go.

    Okay, here's the order in which I'll be playing my next PCs.

    Wizard Slayer/Transmuter
    Wild Mage->Fighter
    Wild Mage (because I am not playing a Sorcerer)
    Wizard Slayer->Cleric
    Gypsy
    Illusionist->Thief
    Alchemist
    Fighter
    Bounty Hunter
    Beast Master
    Cleric/Thief
    Totemic Druid
    Fighter/Druid
    Swashbuckler->Cleric
    Stalker->Cleric

    I already started playing the WS/T and (link), well, it's so easy to get a lot of gold early on when you can't use anything.

    Edit: Wait, if @wubble makes a suggestion I'll play the suggestions before the Wild Mage->Fighter.

    I'm looking forward to the RP of WS/ Transmuter- I used to hate magic & myself, but then I decided that it was time for change!

    It's actually a multikit so it's more like "I'm a wizard-hunting wizard!".

    Actually, if you were a Wizard-hunting Wizard, wouldn't being an Abjurer be more thematic? Abjuration is where dismissal, dispel and counterspell is, yes?

    A Ferret sorcerer!

    Or wild mage.

    Definitely Wizard Slayer to Transmuter. Wizard slayer is a class I don't want to touch in the first BG game.

    ... and Breach etc. are hard to live without in BG2. Definitely a challenging combo.

    Tantamount to the same thing, really.
