I can no longer consider the Beamdog Forums a friendly place. So I'm out. Also uninstalling all Beamdog games because without the forums, they're not as much fun.
So, all you nice people here: Goodbye! May we meet again in better circumstances.

Don't threaten to leave; threaten to stay.
What will you gain by leaving and uninstalling? Your nemeses will win and will never even consider the price you paid for their victory. You, on the other hand, gain nothing and lose all the things you liked. So stay.
Even though, I use @Shandaxx ignore feature to blank the most annoying members out.
Friendly place sure, but also incredibly immature(or at least thats my perspective) sometimes.
Well, I *really* must have stepped on some toes in my time here. I had no idea.
Won't be bothering you anymore.
This is getting tiresome, mate. Please stay, ok?. @dreamtraveler mostly posts weird stuff in Off-Topic - if that's not your thing, ignore him. @ThacoBell and @Dev6 are correct that though this is a very friendly place overall, nastiness does break out from time to time here, as in any place. Everyone is encouraging you to stay on. Ultimately, however, we ARE a bunch of perfect strangers from all over the world hiding behind creative user names. We don't know you as such. Your parting shot: ... is wildly unrealistic. Until I happened to see this post in Off-Topic, I had no idea you existed. If we communicated previously, I do not recall. Is that harsh? It's the truth. This may be the case for the vast majority of users here. Do your enemies - whom you have not named - know that they are your enemies? Do they know that they have the power to make you leave the forums and uninstall the games and just sit there and not play BG? I think that is unlikely. I think it is also unlikely that they would even care. Also, posting this in Off-Topic means that many of those you consider your friends or your enemies may never know you left. So expecting a grand send-off is unlikely, for a number of reasons as outlined above.
So take a chill pill, and enjoy this forum for what it is.

I concur with @Shandaxx: you're giving someone else power over you. If the ''ignore script'' is anything like blocking in FB, use it. I've only had to block one stalker-type. You can be in the same FB group, but never see their posts. I had completely forgotten about her until seeing this. So, thank @Shandaxx for taking the time to code such a wonder.
@profanitywarning: That being said (disflamer: I'm most certainly *not* judging you, @profanitywarning, merely making an observation), you left with some finality: uninstalling everything BD, said your goodbye, etc. Aaaaand then you came back four days later, seemingly disappointed and/or angry with the level (or lack thereof, I'm not really clear on which) of send-off. Are you sure you aren't perhaps just feeling a bit underappreciated, not really angry? I'm only asking because as far as I could tell, people were being supportive of you actually staying, rather than leaving, yet you're upset. I once saw some poor older fellow, on the aforementioned FB group, get absolutely SHREDDED for doing this. All he said was basically this: ''it's been a lovely XX years; time for me to move on''. I've never seen such viciousness over practically nothing but a sincere goodbye.
You don't specify any particular event (which is fine), just a blanket 'unfriendly' statement. But surely what was posted in this particular thread up to your resurfacing can be construed as such? That is, ignoring a bit of derail that has absolutely nothing to do with you. Anyway. Whatever your reasons, I hope you're feeling better about it now. Don't allow anyone else to influence your right to stay on a forum. Especially since such a person (if a troll) will know they've ''won'' (or worse yet, won't even notice you're gone). Don't give them the satisfaction. Hang in there.
But to punish Beamdog for its fora members is a bit petulant, and I dare say, "beaming at the wrong tree." ;-)
When it comes to trolls and rude agitprop-types, the research shows they tend to contaminate a community, but once it becomes like-minded, it becomes dull for them.
So they move on. And seek to contaminate the next.
I perso think us others should just persist, the best we can.
If you cannot, I understand. But let it be said: even as I left gog.com as my "main" for hate of unhomophobic opinion - I happened to have had the temerity to criticize Dethmold characterisation - I am still The Witcher fan for what the series did for PC RPG gaming.
The difference to you as I see it: my criticism rose from the content that the developer wrote, when I do think Beamdog do moderate their fora better than most, and cannot fairly push out the contaminators, really.
Go if you must. But advertising your "uninstall" is petulant, IMO.
Do you not think it is a little unfair?
I literally put the money where my mouth had been.
I wanted to be a critical-friend fan to CD Project Red, signalling as a paying customer and a gamer I did not find their writing OK. But the difference to Dragonspear debacle in my case was that I resented the homophobia because I thought it might plausibly damage the immersion and gaming joy of my fellow gay-gamers, and it was such complacent writing. Big difference to kicking up a fuss to signal the desire to exclude, and moderation.
But receiving that backlash was not the kiss of death, for me, but lack of discussion that was crowded out by the very behaviour found in studies, plus weird ecosystem of buying your friends. It probably still is a strange incest of fawning the members that gift games, unless things have shifted.
At least we do not have that here, which is a-okey IMO.
