"The right to CHOOSE!? What about the horde of orcs about to raze a village on the orders of your gargoyle friend?! What about their "right to choose!?"
I met Gremlin in an abandoned library built by a race of dwarves a millenia ago. Gremlin could have killed me... But it became apparent that Gremlin wanted to give hope to the race of gargoyles as well. They enjoy the freedom that all the other races are denied... But take little comfort from it...
Gremlin helped me. We made little progress... But it all came in a rush. We found the belt, the ring, decades of research bore fruit, we found the location of the sword.
He... Could do things I could not... I am ashamed... Gremlin has hurt others to keep me safe. Gremlin hurt... Gremlin hurt you as you could have got to the ring first... But please. Decades of work. Decades! Could have been wasted by you and blind luck.
...
You already found the belt...
We were genuinely worried about Callus being destroyed and losing the chance to obtain the sword... Gremlin obviously... Stopped that...
I honestly had no idea. I stated I do not trust Harvey... He is the reason we feared the Orcs in the first place...
...
Also, as part of the deal made with Gremlin...
You need to understand as part of the process...
*Nanna takes a deep breath.*
I was younger then... I had a different outlook... I didn't think I could do it.
Vaga goes up to Nanna and, in a rare expression of emotions, hugs her gently.
"I understand you have found your purpose, your mission. I have great respect for that and cast no blame on you for your actions or choices. But from now on, honesty should be added to your list of traits. "
Vaga struggles with trying to understand Nanna's motives. He tries to think back on what Anduin has spoken of in the past. His memory is a bit fuzzy though, but he draws his conclusions..
"You talk about giving choice to all races. I can only assume it's either about life and death, as in giving all beings undeath/eternal life and denying their deaths, or based on your distaste for the gods, a way to empower the souls of the dead so they can deny to ever come into the Gods' domains. But I'm not a priest nor an academic, and these topics are way beyond my comprehension. "
The guards don’t even hear Fiora’s offer, as they rush outside immediately following the spectacle. Harvey follows after them, and Keeley follows after him. Ixion remains casually seated in the corner. Octavius pulls out a potion of some kind and drinks it before leaving as well.
As he sees Ixion is remaining, he stops before stepping out from the tent. "Did you know anything about this scorpionmen? Strictly, you still have to perform your side of the deal. Our request was to arrange a meeting with the orc king, not with some shapechanging impostor."
“I was paid to guide you here,” Ixion says with a snort. “Not to play the part of diplomat for you.”
Meanwhile, the rest of the party follow the others outside. The guards have already begun a search for their king, and Harvey and Keeley are standing in the town’s center. Harvey’s eyes are closed, and he seems to be in a trancelike state. Octavius is quickly rushing toward a large building on the far end of the orc town.
Kaled follows Octavius, who runs inside the building. As Kaled enters, he sees an odd assortment of potions and vials resting on shelves that line the walls. He sees Octavius rummaging through one such shelf, muttering just loudly enough for Kaled to hear “Where is that potion? Curse my forgetfulness at times like this.”
Keeley interposed herself between Nanna and Harvey. “You can help by staying well away from him,” she says. “Those adventurers may be quick to trust you, but I am not so easily convinced. That... thing that impersonated the king was your friend, by your own admission. ‘Tis more likely you will do whatever you can to hinder our search rather than help.”
Ignatius turns invisible and hovers to the direction from which the disguised gargoyle first came in escorted by the other orcs, hoping that it would lead to the king's sanctum and there might be some clues as to his disappearance present there.
Vaga know knowing what to do, decides to follow mama Nanna and heads up to her, Keeley and Harvey, and listens in to their convo. When he hears keeley's 'attack' on Nanna, he can't help himself and defends her.
"True, Gargoyle is connected to Nanna but I am convinced he she has no ill intent. I trust her, and I trust you both as well. So you should also trust eachother. Let's work together and try to help to find the orc king. Maybe if we find him, he can try to recall the invading youngling orcs from attacking Callus and stop this madness before it begins."
It is fairly easy for Ignatius to find footprints in the dirt that match up with the fake orc king and his two guards. Following their trail, he soon come across a rather plain-looking squat building in the center of town. The entrance is open and unguarded.
When Kaled speaks up, Octavius looks up with a start, though he quickly regains his composure. “Ah, good,” he says. “I’m looking for a potion of Clairvoyance. With it, I am certain that I can uncover this mystery with haste. Unfortunately, I seem to have forgotten where I had placed it. If you can help me look for a vial of clear liquid that smells like boiled chicken feet, then I would appreciate it.”
I'm hurt. I helped you Keeley. You were the first being I had ever killed for... How a dragon got enslaved by a Hag... Hasn't really been explained to us. I have not hindered Harvey in anyway.
...
In fact, to be honest, I still don't trust him, super powerful druid friend of nature. All on his own... Who taught him? Where are his friends... Before us that is...
But I do understand why you are forced to trust him, what with him finding you straight after contracting that strange affliction, sending us to attack and destroy his only enemy in the forest, then chopping his arm off to save you , more or less ensures your abject loyalty.
“There are so many things wrong with what you just said...” Keeley seethes. “Am I supposed to be impressed that you killed for me? That’s barbaric! And I will not stand here quietly while you continue to slander my friend right in front of me! Not to mention that you’re a hypocrite, complaining about no trust when you literally just tried to cast doubt on Harvey.”
Kaled searches, but it is Octavius who finds the potion first. “Ah, perfect,” he says, just before quaffing the potion. After a brief moment, he walks back outside, saying “Follow me! I know where he is being kept.”

..and, if he (it?) played the part of the orc king, where is the king himself?"

I need someone of Gremlin's skills...
You see...
I promised Gremlin he could kill me.
"Your king may be in danger, if he is even still alive. We need to find him quickly! I'll help, if you'll allow me."

I have told you the truth. It's the perspective that is the problem.
*Nanna runs after the others. She turns her wizened head and shouts back.*
Thank you for listening to your mother. You were spot on. That is indeed my mission!
"Another well executed diplomatic encounter, checked."

How are you searching for the king. Can I help?
*Nanna wrings her hands imploringly.*

Forget all that! Distrust will only grow into a canker!
I may have been aquainted with Gremlin, but his actions were altruistic... Well... Altruistic to get the sword. And the sword saves everyone!
Well, I never asked you or expected you to trust me. First time everyone met me I had pineapples and was male...
...
Maybe judge me by my actions...
