    Remember it's the main character that has to wear the ring. Considering I haven't changed anything in the quest itself for quite a while, I would guess there may be some other mod that overrides the area? Hard to say without a list all mods / components you have.

    It may be hard to find the culprit when you install so many things at once, including things that weren't properly tested. You installed stuff like Eve of War that never got a real release and is known to be really buggy. You have TWM / Mysteries of the Sword Coast that hasn't been updated in years. T'Was a Slow Boat from Kara-Tur that is (AFAIK) abandoned and wasn't updated for almost... 10 years, I think?

    Yeah, I didn't realise that Mysteries is so risky or that Kara Tur mod is so old. Although I've been told that it doesn't add much but one big fight and a store. Eve of War is apparently abandoned so I chose components that aren't suppose to mess much up or overwrite things. My guess is that TWM did all of it, kind of a pity because I like it's content. Not the reachest but could be executed well if it was continued. Thanks for info, I guess I might try to re-install without TWM then.

    TWM would be last on my list of suspects. TWM has a fine coder and the approach was always safe, but the mod is just old and it was created with oBG1 in mind, not BGEE. And Eve of War's package is REALLY messy and compatibility wasn't the author's biggest concern OR it was supposed to be added later.

    Anyway, I think there may be some more risky mods on your list, but checking them one by one, considering the number would take quite some time... And it's not like I used each and every mod myself...

    For the record, Eve of War isn't it. Lava's general opinion on it is justified, but it only applies one block to the Larswood area script and that one is clear.

    I noticed two weeks ago that the Harness armor that gives physical resistance is supposed to give constitution bonus when below a certain percentage of health.
    The curiosity is that the proc check is every round and if you are at 19 con, you go to 20/21(not sure?) but since it reprocs a round later, you effectively do not regenerate from the constitution bonus.

    Any thoughts on that?

After two other mods I decided to uninstall Dark Side, and when uninstallation process was done, a couple other things got removed as well, and the portal finally appeared:

From all these mods I know Northern Tales adds Haeball to the tower in Larswood and I never had Isra in my party so mayhaps she have a quest in there or something? Could you somehow the coding for these mods and see if you can see any problem?

    I wanted to ask,
    how does the Energy of Planar Shades work, exactly? Not the abilities and procs, those are pretty clear. I mean, mechanically as a weapon. In my latest installation, equipping it with a F/M/T Charname has the character sheet display an average damage of 3-3. But for any other eligible character it displays a 0-0, and I can't find a reason for it, be it proficiencies, classes or base statistics. It might be because of another mod (maybe Forgotten Weapons is changing its type), but maybe it's something else that escapes me.

    The entire mod is wonderful. There are still a lot of things I hadn't found or solved, and it keeps the game fresh. Even the ridiculously hard encounters are my fault (guess I should take a hint and put on some robes). 11/10 it stays in my load order.

    Yeah I just found newer version which is 1.02. For EE I think it is the latest version and I downloaded Shades and this new Dark Side version and the portal hadn't disappeared. So far so good.

    That was also my thought, but I do not have that much extensive modding knowledge. Perhaps you had more insight on it.

    At least the constitution health bonus works well.

    Interesting. Funny thing, I looked up again and this is what it says about damage with it equipped: 0d4. This is despite the tooltip sayings it should be 1d4+3. CLUAConsoling it into an otherwise unmmoded game, I used it to hit Shank twice for 2 and 4 damage. And in my current EET installation, all eligible characters seem to do between 4 and 7, with that 0-0 damage in the inventory being the norm.

    So I guess it's working alright! If with any changes other mods might have done to it. It's just a bit confusing to know what it's actually doing and how. :_D

    no problem. It is only a mild inconvenience. At least you know something might be off in the game engine in case someone else notices it in the future.

    I was actually just trying to be smart by thinking, life goes below threshold, thus I can regen back above it. But in the way it is set up it does not work as such. That is totally acceptable.

    Regarding Apex Predator quest - was that someone inside the mines? Or did I miss something in the woods? This dryad gave me that quest and I completely forgot about it. I flooded the mines already, then I saw the entry in my journal about it, and I was like... oh yeah, I was suppose to kill something in there. I kinda have no clue where to look for it.

    It's not inside the mines.
    There is a beast roaming the area on which you enter the mines, but not inside that palisade, but outside it.
