    Also I have also noticed how GENEROUS the rolls are in that version of ability-select. I appreciate the time it saves haha

    The rolls are actually less generous than in the other Infinity Engine games, as the minimum total roll is 60 rather than 75. Either they spent an enormous amount of time doing rolls and/or they just got ridiculously lucky.

    Hi, I am very grateful for this mod.
    I always play these games via GOG versions on my Mac (Windows Parallel), however in this game I cannot map ALT key to any other key on MAC keyboard. Is it possible to change the HIGHLIGHT function to TAB key? Thank you in advance. Remi

    Ok. I sorted this. Used key mapping in Parallel Desktop software settings. Cheers!

    I am not sure if I am doing this correctly? I wasn't able to extract so I did a copy and paste into the game directory for GOG for IWD2. I see a setup exe for IWD2EE and then I get a DOS pop up and then I get what you are seeing in the screen shot?

    I'd LOVE if edge scrolling could be rebound to WASD rather than arrow keys (you can keybind basically everything else!) is this something there's a compatible mod for already? [...]

    Same. I made a very simple AutoHotkey script, like this :
    #HotIf WinActive("ahk_class ChitinClass")

    w::Up

    s::Down

    a::Left

    d::Right

    In short, when the game window is forward (it is called ChitinClass for some reason), the WASD keys do the arrow keys.
    Detail : if the game is run as Admin, the script must also run as Admin. AutoHotkey scripts only run if you open them like an application, so they are rather safe.
    [ AutoHotkey is free and runs on Windows: autohotkey[.]com ]

    Why do Wizards not get their free spells known upon leveling up?
  • Acrux2Acrux2 Member Posts: 66
    That's just how IWD2 works. It's always been that way, wizards have to rely on unsing or buying scrolls.

    It is indeed IWD2's design, as mentioned by Acrux2, but I understand it can be an issue for sure. What you can do is use the following console command (activate it first via Config.exe in the game's folder) to add a scroll in your inventory:
    ctrlaltdelete:CreateItem("SPWI407Z.ITM")

    SPWI407Z is just an example here, to replace by the scroll you wish.
    Here is a list (note: not all items on that list are designed to be used by the player, but scrolls should be fine).

    I play a Conjurer, for example, so when I gain access to a new level of spells, I give myself two relevant scrolls.

    @Baraz autohotkey worked. Thank you! quality of life much improved. time to leave targos

    there is so much good gear in targos and you cant afford all of it. I haven't played this game in at least a decade, I hope the plot brings me back here at some point because a lot of these items are ridiculous (i realize they were probably added by EE)

    -snip-

    It's a very odd design decision, when Sorcererd do get to pick spells so the engine capability is there.
    It's very helpful information though, is there way to get an item list like this for this mod?

    Edit: In the config, what are recommended values for this mod? Should I increase cache size to reduce load times? What about AI options, what are good choices there?

    And supported versions?
    Is it compatible with official czech version of ID2 from 2002?
    I have this Localized Version from CD Projekt distributor, 2CD version patched with last patch and with czech texts.

    ---
    So, i tried that today.

    EE Runs fine with CD Projekts version, anyway lot of spells, items and weapons got new english description, not just new content. Czech dialogs seems to be untouched, also czech dubbing is still there which is fine.

    Does Attack of Opportunity have a distance setting? Even though I move away from the goblins, they keep hitting me.

    Hello, as far as i understand fighter-type classes get a +2 to attack (instead of +1) at levels multiple of five (so 5,10,15 etc.), but my paladin of Helm got the +2 to attack at level 9 instead of level 10; at level 10 he got only plus 1. I was fighter5/paladin9, am i missing something or it's a bug?

    The reason they're getting attacks of opportunity against you is BECAUSE you're moving away from them. That's how attacks of opportunity work.

    At level 9 instead of level 10 is correct. Whoever told you that it was in multiples of 5 was wrong.

    All folders/files that were originally in the folder called "iwd2ee" should be kept in there. It's the folder called "IWD2EE-master" that you must take things out of.

    @TSHawk Please follow these instructions:

    1. Go to the opening post of this thread and click the Download button. That will give you the latest release of IWD2EE, without making you have to deal with this "IWD2EE-master" confusion.
    2. Unzip the two folders and setup programs and put them directly in your IWD2 folder. Overwrite files when prompted. Do not take files out of the two folders.
    3. Run setup-iwd2ee.exe.
  • I'm playing the enhanced edition, can anyone explain how I picked up 32767 lamp oils. I'm not cheating and I dont remember it doing that the first time I played through this game.iv5v4f5avbi7.png

    Are you playing the newest version of IWD2EE? In a previous version there was a bug where in Oswald's airship you could potentially pick up 32767 copies of an item. That bug is fixed now. I recommend you install the newest update, then put those lamp oils on the ground.

    😊

    I've been playing D&D games for 20 years and I know what AoO is. What I mean is; melee goblins perform AoO even when not in melee range. It's like they have a giant square.

    Use IWD2EE.exe
    It is a green icon.

    If I want to translate IWD2EE to another language, shall I translate tra files from "iwd2ee/tra/English" folder or from "iwd2ee/tra/Strings to Translate.zip" archive?

    The English folder. String to Translate.zip is outdated and shouldn't be there.

    In the new update released just now, Wizards do learn two new spells on each level up, as in PnP!

    Also, here's another PnP feature: Sorcerers and Bards can, on certain level ups, replace one of their lower-level spells with another spell of the same level.

    First off, big congrats on the EE release! I've been having a blast playing (there are some tough fights, that's for sure). Quick question though- in one of the optional installs is the "Adjust encounter level-scaling" option. It states-

    "Icewind Dale 2 encounters often have additional enemies for a higher-level party. This component has two options: you can make it so you always fight at least the version of the encounter meant for a medium-level party, or you can make it so you always fight the version meant for a high-level party. The higher-level versions of encounters usually just have a couple more enemies or in some cases have tougher versions of enemies; they aren't impossible for a lower-level party to complete."

    I guess I'm trying to understand what would be the best option if I wanted the game to be a fair challenge yet enjoyable. Skip this or is there a recommended such as medium option? I guess I'm unclear how much installing this option would change the original game. I just defaulted to medium. Again, loving it so far, even though I've had my butt handed to me a few times and I'm only in chapter 2. Thanks again for all of the hard work and effort!

    I tried the high-level encounters during Chapters 1 and 2. Though it is doable, it is a slog and becomes a bit crazy sometimes at the end of Chapter 1 and in Chapter 2 where there are already tons of enemies. I am already a slow and cautious player, so I turned off the high-level encounters because I felt it was becoming just too much.

    I have a question about XP. I have a balanced party of 6, we are currently at 3rd level. 5 of the members are at 5371 XP but my ranger is at 4291 XP why is he not with the rest? I have a fighter, barbarian, a rogue, cleric, ranger and wizard.
